My mum celebrated her 100th Birthday at Holmpark Care Home and the Manager and her Team could not have done anymore to make my Mum's day really special. They arranged a buffet lunch for the family to celebrate with Mum in her flat and she received her cards together with a special one from the King and Queen. A party as held for my Mum in the afternoon with a special 100 cake and entertainment was also laid on for her. Holmpark is a lovely Care Home with wonderful staff who are caring and friendly and my Mum is very happy there.

Great care home!
My dad is very happy here, the staff are very friendly and caring.
We couldn't thank them enough for how they look after my dad.

There is always something going on in the home that both relatives and family members can get involved in.

As a son was not feeling well.. knowing that my dad was going to be cared by strangers'. But, all my concerns vanished when I first went visiting my dad. I felt tremendously welcomed and was very impressed with the facilities and above all with the professionalism of the personnel/staff service. there is deep sense of compassion within community.

Overall, highly skilled staff.

While the general cleaning is not too bad could do with more cleaning staff. Work days are very good, then at weekends the standard drops.

Excellent service and care, all the staff and carers are so nice and welcoming. I can see the carers take pride in the caring of the residents and facilities are kept clean and tidy. My only issue is the laundry can get mixed up and clothes go missing.

My mother receives excellent care and she has Alzheimer's, at times she can be hard work but all the staff provide good care to my mother and are highly experienced. I'm happy that my mother does get included in this they do in the care home and she has her hair cut regularly. We're satisfied that my mother is in good hands, Thanks to all the carers at Holmpark.

Review from Julia W (Friend of Resident) published on 20 March 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My friend has been at Holmpark for a couple of years now and has always been well looked after, is happy and settled. The staff take care to get to know the residents and there is a pleasant atmosphere around the home. Residents are free to spend their time in the lounge or in their own rooms and in the summer can also use the garden with supervision. My friend always enjoys the food at mealtimes and sometimes there are extra snacks in the afternoon which residents enjoy. The managers are pleasant, obliging and helpful as are the admin staff. The home is clean and well maintained. People work well as a team. The building is a converted house and it maintains something of a homely feel. It is easily accessible by bus and car from Birmingham city centre and has adequate parking space for visitors who are welcome at most times. From time to time there are special events and also regular meetings for relatives and families where ideas can be put forward for activities or new ideas.

Rooms are lovely and clean. Staff are extremely friendly, always ready to listen and respond to suggestions if they can be met. Over the months I have seen excellent interaction with residents and my mum.
At least I can relax, having peace of mind, knowing my mum loves the staff and they love her. Plus she is safe.

I would certainly recommend it to others.

My mum is happy at this care home but I do feel that the building is not looked after enough.
I was told that I shouldn't use one of the lifts as it keeps getting stuck with people inside it!

I also feel that there is a lack of stimulus for the residents. Not enough activities for them. For example, in June 2024, there was no recognition of the D-Day 80th Anniversary, no bunting etc. How boring just to sit and watch TV all day!

Reply from Nissy Varughese, Manager at Holmpark

My sister is a new resident. My overview so far is a good one. The impression I get is a nice care home with present and caring staff. Other than that she, as stated, is new to Holmpark so cannot comment objectively any further.
