Everyone is welcoming and Mum is very well looked after. Her room is well-equipped and comfortable.

The staff are always so nice and friendly. Mum always says how nice the food is and she can always ask for anything extra (cakes, biscuits, etc). The staff check her regularly and take the time to make sure she is ok.

This care home is awesome. From day one, my relative has felt at home and safe. The staff work as a team in the interest of the residents. I have also found them to be excellent at engaging and taking into consideration the needs of extended family members. The care home is spotless and actively encourages residents to engage in pre-planned entertainment. I would certainly recommend.

My mother went into the home as she couldn't cope any more in her flat and found it difficult to do normal everyday things.
My mother has settled in well at the home and has been made welcome.
The staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable about their jobs.
I have been notified on several occasions when Mom has had a few falls and other medical problems and the staff have always contacted me regarding these issues.

All in all, I am very pleased with the care Mom has received.

My mother moved in July 2023, she settled in very well. Staff are very friendly, and make you welcome as you arrive during the visit. The carers work very hard and have lots of patience. My brother and I are impressed with the care home the only thing we are not happy with is her clothes, sometimes items go missing. Also, she has items of someone else's clothing. Including Men's pants! Overall we are pleased with the care Mum is having.

My grandmother is not looked after very well. She was put in this home to prevent her from having falls at home. She has since had falls at the home. New clothing and other items bought in for her are always missing and staff members can never seem to find them. She is diabetic and they are giving her far too much sugary foods. She keeps being given other resident's dirty stained underwear even though new fresh underwear has been provided for her. The care and attention to detail for each individual service user is shocking and almost non-existent. Worst decision ever allowing her to be in a place like this.

I came to visit my Aunt who has been at the Home for past few years, it had been some time since I was last able to visit and I spent a lovely time at the Home. I observed the staff being very caring and warm to not only my Aunt but the other Residents also. The staff team came across happy in their job. There was fun activities for the Coronation on and all the other Residents looked happy and were joining in.
My Aunt presented as very well and she looked healthy too.

I have always found staff and Management approachable and responsive.

The staff at Holmpark are amazing, they have great patience and have always kept my mum immaculately clean, and they make visitors feel welcome and included. Mum increased weight, due to the good food and enjoyed the regular cups of tea and the tasty cakes. The medical care Mum receives is of a high standard. The room is very pleasant and clean, and mums clothes are always clean and ironed. Mum has been taken out on shopping trips with the staff, and thoroughly enjoyed being able to spend some money! I am kept well informed with Mum's health care. Staff also take time to spend some one to one time with mum, and varnish her nails whilst they are talking to her and my mum always liked having nice nails. I have been very impressed with every aspect of the care offered at Holmpark.

Had been unable to visit my Uncle for some time due to Covid and living abroad and had concerns due to the long period of time since I had visited.
On coming to visit I found staff very friendly and welcoming. My uncle looked healthier and happier than he was over 2 years ago, this was such a relief.

The Home has had some works done and is very well presented. I was there at lunch time and the food was very nice and appetizing. I spoke with the Managers and Admin who were very approachable.

When I bought my father to Holmpark I was anxious, it's a big step. I was immediately put at ease with the genuine care the staff showed, nothing was too much trouble. His room was clean, modern and personalised. I have seen a change in my father, he is so happy and content. He tells me about the good food, the entertainment and friends he has made. All management team are very approachable.

My sister has lived at Holmpark for over 2 years, in that time I feel she has been cared for well, all her needs met. Has been comfortable and safe. The staff have always been friendly and the home has been particularly careful during the pandemic. I feel that my sister is living in a home that meets her needs.

The home has coped well during the pandemic despite a recent outbreak of Covid. Visiting during the Covid restrictions is well organised and we are advised when visits need to be cancelled.
The manager was very prompt in addressing a complaint which we made concerning cleaning of my family friend's room. The manager/deputy manager are always available, though Covid restrictions have limited this to email during Covid.
The care is excellent and she is exceedingly contented despite her increasing loss of short term memory.
We were greatly impressed at the start of the first lockdown when the manager set up a new television for her.

On the negative side; the cleaner frequently moves the furniture which is not good practice for a resident with dementia; also items of clothing disappear in the laundry from time to time (with random, unknown items appearing).

Reply from Yvonne Jenkins, Home Manager at Holmpark

Thank you for taking the time to review Holmpark and we are pleased that you rate our care and support as excellent. I have discussed your loved one’s laundry with our housekeeping team and Fixon buttons will now be used on garments to help resolve this issue. I have also discussed the moving of furniture with staff, and it has been reiterated that furniture is not moved without prior request.

My mother is very happy here at Holmpark. I cannot fault the welcome from the manager and her team. Her room is spacious, kept clean and organised. Guests are welcomed and looked after too, as they appreciate the difficult decisions we have to make. We are kept fully informed and kept up to date. Phone calls or video calls enable you to be in touch through any covid closure. Nothing appears too much trouble, even cakes and celebration on her birthday. A really friendly and professional team of carers. Thank you.

I can say of myself and my family that I am happy for the care that my mother received since she went to Holmpark. The staff and management are wonderful people; they have worked hard to provide care for my mum. She is always been clean, not just she, but all the residents. They have worked hard to keep them safe. I understand it's not easy, and I thank them all.

All staff are very friendly, treat my father with respect and are always prepared to listen to any concerns. Any issues with regard to my father's care have been dealt with in a professional manner and correct procedures adhered to. Prompt response by GP/nurse to any medical problems. Some areas of the home need updating/refurbishment which I understand the manager is dealing with.

Breath of fresh air to find a care home that really does "care". Staff are understanding and sympathetic to residents needs. They are well cared for, with plenty of experience and cater for the resident's mental and physical requirements. There is plenty of things to do and always keep Mom occupied with the opportunity to dance, keep fit classes, cocktail making etc. Recently visited and was quite surprised that Mom's room was spacious, clean and inviting. Great care home.

The care my mother received during her short stay at Holmpark was exemplary. The staff are kind, patient and caring. Mum was treated with dignity at all times. Getting to know mum's likes and dislikes is so important to the staff. Each person is treated as an individual and respected as such. I have worked in the NHS for 40 years and can honestly say the care and compassion of Holmpark is outstanding.

My Grand Aunt stayed here since August 2017 and I must say I don't believe in putting your elders in care homes, but I try to visit once a week and I must stay the staff is exceptional. They put my mind at ease to feel my Grand Aunt is in a good place. So I must say thank you to all the staff and it is a shame the wages they get paid for care staff, with the kind of work they do for the country.
