Overall Experience

My mum spent the last 11 months of her life at Tandy. She, like many others had Dementia, but she was happy there. The rooms are quite spacious with onsuite wetroom. It's kept clean, & they have a laundry service that on the whole is ok but more care is needed sorting the marked clothes get back to the right resident & woolen jumpers don't get ruined by hot washing/ tumbledrying. The staff are kind , caring & friendly. The meals they provide are excellent plus residents are offered snacks aswell.Management are easy to talk to & help get problems sorted as they arise. There is a lack of activities done & not much stimulation as they sit in chairs for long periods of time if they can't walk independently. A home of its size ideally could have more care staff as there's only 2 on each floor with 1 floater but budget doesn't allow for more. In the final days of my mums life the care staff were amazing, they sat with mum for a little while after I'd left & called me when there was any change.

Overall experience is a good one. There's a couple of niggles I do think the food choices could be improved. The laundry system has been poor lost many articles and ended up with other residents clothes. Activities a bit hit and miss. Days out are needed for those that can be taken care of safely or more exciting activities to keep residents engaged. Staff are amazing very attentive.

Last year we had the heartbreaking news that we had to put our dad in a home as he wasnt safe to be at home .
When i made arrangements to view a suitable home for dad , the first and only home i viewed was Tandy Court, and i knew straight away when Emma showed us around that it was the one and knew my dad would be happy and settled with how lovely all members of staff are caring and nothing is to much trouble for them ,if we need help with anything .
Dad is coming upto 7 months of being at Tandy court , Dad is so much happier and very relaxed and has also said he doesnt want to move out of Tandy court as its his home .

We are always made welcome when we visit dad.

Tandy court Care Home is well run and the staff are all friendly and courteous. My Brother in law is well looked after and he is very happy with the meals provided. The one problem is the constant mix up of laundry. It would be good for the residents if the garden could be used.

I've been extremely pleased with the level of care that my loved one has at Tandy Court. All the staff are really friendly. They are very approachable and happy to help when I visit and answer any questions I have. My favourite thing is how well the staff know my loved one - she can be challenging and feisty at times, but all the staff talk of her with affection and warmth, sharing anecdotes and stories of things she has done and said. The management and team leaders are a valued source of advice as I navigate being power of attorney for the first time, and all the difficult decisions that accompany the role. My loved one is treated with kindness and respect as her dementia advances and her condition declines. I am so happy that I chose Tandy Court as the place for her to live and be taken care of at this vulnerable time in her life.

I cannot fault Tandy Court , overall experience from staff has been brilliant. Staff are always welcoming when I go to visit my mom and they are person centred when looking after my mother. There is always a lot of entertainment on which I see featured in the newsletter, also been present on a couple of occasions when they have had a singer performing. What I notice when I visit Tandy Court there is a warm atmosphere, staff always have a smile and say hello, which I believe has a positive impact for the residents. All staff at Tandy Court work very hard and the building is always clean and has a homely feel.

Overall, I am pleased with everything. Staff are always attentive, caring and helpful. I can now sleep at night, knowing that my sister is safe. It is good to have the different activities each day for those residents that can join in. A lot of thought goes into special occasions etc.

My Father was recently accepted at Tandy Court. He has settled in very well and is in my opinion excellently looked after. The staff are very friendly and attentive to the residents needs. I would ask that some more activities are added if possible for the residents engagement such as more group singing and perhaps some supervised gardening.

I have only one concern regarding my husband's care. My husband has been at Tandy Court for 6 months. He has excellent care, the staff are wonderful and do their very best for him. The concern is the laundry, I know this is a big issue in most care homes, I do not have the answer for a solution but will keep trying to find one.

The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Everyone is very caring, doing their jobs with dedication. The catering is excellent again carried out with care. I have had two relatives here as well as my current friend and I could not wish for better for them. The staff recognise me and know who I come to visit, as well as knowing the residents and their needs really well.

I cannot even begin to convey the gratitude and admiration I have for the staff at Tandy Court. My father has lived there since October 2021 having spent the previous few years living with me. Having looked at a number of homes I walked into Tandy Court and instantly felt at ease in the place. The staff are wonderful and so kind and caring with the residents. I have seen several examples of staff going above and beyond with residents to show loving gentle care to elderly and confused residents, it warms your heart. There is plenty of staff and it is obvious that there is very little staff turnover or agency workers which clearly demonstrates that the place is well run and people want to work there. On top of that, the food is wonderful and my dad’s room is always spotless, his clothes are always clean and he is always clean and well dressed, and best of all he is happy and is in a place he loves and where he is loved. I simply cannot praise Tandy Court enough.
