Dad moved into Godiva Lodge at Easter 2023 and this Christmas week we visited him for a few days over from Germany where we live. The last time I had managed to get over was August, and it was very clear that all the team at Godiva had been making great progress in making everyone’s experience, guests and visitors and also the rest of their teammates alike a really fulfilling experience. The place is always tidy, visitors are always made welcome and this December it was noticeably well staffed with lots of evidence of positive improvements: - The use of the main room, the fresh decorations in the different day rooms, and all the facilities open for use. It’s the bright, friendly and caring staff that make the difference, you really get the sense of professionalism around the place. My Dad has really settled in and I truly believe all the team at Godiva Lodge are helping to make this a dignified and happy time for him and the rest of our family. Many thanks to you all.

This home is great! My 95-year-old mum never wanted to go into a care home so I was really anxious when she became so muddled and wobbly that she needed 24-hour care. But she loves it at Godiva Lodge! The staff are compassionate, friendly and caring, the en suite rooms are clean, practical and welcoming, the food is healthy and tasty and the new decor looks like a five-star hotel. It's modern, warm and spacious, all on the ground floor. She is enjoying socialising and made friends right away.

You can park for free on-site when visiting, you're allowed to decorate and fix up their rooms how you like, there are cool little name tags for the laundry and the management seem very professional and always available to answer queries. It's also reassuring to know that she won't have to move on as her dementia progresses.

Thank you Godiva Lodge you are all stars!

This home and it's caring staff are exceptional, not only do they care for my husband but they are always there for me, they listen and will always give a hug. All residents are always clean and look cared for, their mood swings and general health are always attended to. Residents rooms are always clean and tidy and bed linen and resident's clothes are changed daily. Everyone is listened to.

My experience of Godiva Lodge has always been very good, from the day my mum moved in she has been looked after with great care. Every member of staff has helped my mum with all her needs, they are very professional and very thoughtful. My mum was 90 in October and they made her day very special with us being able to bring in family for tea and cake, my mum loved it. Thank you.

I would like to say that the staff at the home go above and beyond for the residents of Godiva Lodge. For example, it was recently my mum's 90th birthday and they arranged a lovely lunch which, under the circumstances of my mum's health, made it a very special day.

My mum has been at Godiva Lodge since December 2021, initially on respite care and then was made permanent, which was such a relief as it was my preferred choice of care home due to my aunt having previously been cared for here too.

The care given is just amazing and all the staff are just brilliant - they soon got to know my mum, her ways and personality and helped to adapt to her care needs very quickly. It has a family feel to it, with nothing being too much trouble for the staff to help Mum with. Recently they put on a party for her birthday and she loved it, all the fuss made and a fabulous buffet spread too, she had a lovely day thanks to the staff at Godiva. They all go above and beyond for my mum, I feel, from taking her to the pub to play her favourite darts game, to buying her a vape to try and encourage fewer cigarettes and even buying her a chippy tea when she hadn't fancied eating at tea time. I could never thank the staff enough. My mum is safe and cared for well.

Staff have been great during my mum's end-of-life care, looking after the family with drinks, food, advice about care help, leaving us alone when needed and being available at all times. The care home is a decent standard.

The home is very friendly and seems to be very well run. We saw my brother getting his evening meal and it looked delicious. He has certainly put on weight since moving in. The staff seemed very interested in his welfare. The main concern for us is that our brother is happy, which he obviously is. Well done to all the carers.

I am the daughter of someone who lives at Godiva lodge in Coventry. It was my mother and father's 48th anniversary today, 01/06/22, I phoned in advance to let the carers know we were coming and wow what a lovely surprise, the staff had decorated a room with a lovely table cloth and decorations on the table, then came in with a trolly with beautiful cups and a teapot of tea. I cannot praise this care home enough as they always go the extra mile. My dad and I are eternally grateful for their love and devotion to my mum.

All the family would like to say thank you to Godiva Lodge.
Not only were they amazing while our mum was a resident of Godiva Lodge, but when she was on end of life, not only did they deliver the best care for her, but supported the family also and made them feel welcome within the home 24/7 and nothing was too much for them, even when they were really busy.

Thank you from all of the family.

My husband went to Godiva for respite in November 2021, however as he was waiting for a permanent place this was able to be continued from December. He was so unsettled at home, and I was worried that he’d struggle to cope. How wrong was I! He was made to feel at home straight away, the staff all take an interest in the person, not the disease! I was pleasantly surprised by how well he settled even though there were a few hiccups on the way. It was difficult during December with Covid restrictions, but the staff were amazing keeping the residents entertained and were always there on the end of the phone regardless. It’s such a relief to know how well he’s looked after and that he engages with the staff and the other residents and takes part in the activities he wants. Never seen him looking so physically well for years and that’s all credit to the staff, worth their weight in gold!

Our mum went to live at Godiva Lodge at the beginning of lockdown in 2020.
As you can imagine, as for many, this has been a very tough couple of years. The staff at Godiva have done a wonderful job of looking after Mum and keeping everyone safe. We know she is well cared for and loved.
It was her 90th birthday on the 4th of February and what can I say but what a fantastic response from Godiva. They cleaned and decorated a room which our family could enter without entering the home itself, further efforts to keep other residents safe, they provided food and a cake and gave Mum a gift of flowers.

We cannot say how much we appreciate their kindness, generosity and flexibility during these ongoing difficult times. Thank you so much to everyone there, we have memories to treasure on our mum's milestone birthday! Words seem a bit inadequate but we are so very grateful.

My mum has been a resident at Godiva Lodge since 27th September 2021, when her previous care home closed down. After looking at several care homes I chose Godiva Lodge and I'm so glad I did. She has a lovely, spacious room with her own private facilities, where the care staff help her with her personal needs i.e. showering. Each time I see her she is smartly dressed - the staff have helped her choose colour coordinated clothes. Mum has gained weight since being at Godiva Lodge, which I'm not surprised at, as the food always looks lovely. Mum is very particular about her hair and has a weekly appointment at the hair salon within the home. There are regular activities, which the residents are encouraged to join in with. When I visit I am always made welcome and you never have to look for a care assistant. They are very "on the ball" and if there are any concerns, they don't wait for my next visit. They call me straight away. Well done to all at Godiva Lodge.

Mum has blossomed since coming to Godiva Lodge in October. She has made friends, joined in activities and has socialised more and her daily interactions have increased. Her memory is still poor but she appears to be more alert and lively with a better positive outlook. She enjoys the food and always looks clean and well-groomed. I now have more peace of mind knowing that she is safe and well cared for, thank you.

Such an amazing place. My Mum had to be moved there during the COVID outbreak, we were not allowed to settle her in, but the staff have all been amazing and brilliant in their care of our Mum. She is really happy and put on weight, so good to see her like this, after a very upsetting time. A massive thank you to all the staff at Godiva, you do an amazing, caring job!

Our mum has been cared for in Godiva Lodge for three years. She is so settled and she has a wonderful relationship with the Godiva staff, who bring a smile to her face. I know we feel reassured that she is well cared for and I know she definitely enjoys the food. During these strange times we are currently living in I know we, like many of the other families, appreciate the hard work and dedicated care the team are providing. By putting the photo's/video's on of the activities that are going on in the home we can see our Mum, as well as the other residents who we have come to know over the years Mum has been there. The team continue to entertain with their videos with the Queen one just before VE day being an absolute legend. The residents look to really enjoy being part of these events. A big thank you to you all and thank you for putting things on social media so that we have that contact until we do get to see our loved ones again.
