Overall Experience

My mother was a resident at Victoria Manor from late June 2018 through to August 2019 and she was treated with great respect at all times by the staff. She had very specific demands and ideas about what she expected from the home and the staff, in my opinion, did their utmost to meet her needs and keep her as happy as they could. I would have no hesitation in recommending Victoria Manor at all.

Victoria Manor shows great care and attention to my brother's needs as he has deteriorated during the three and a half years he has been a resident and I thank them for that.

At times throughout this deterioration, his care needs have changed and he is not always easy to manage.

The overall care is excellent. Feedback is good and the family visit on a regular basis and are known to the staff. Both parents are in their 90s and have different needs.

It gives us comfort that he is safe here.
Use of pressure pads was one factor that helped us to choose this home because of my father's instability and likelihood to fall.

In previous homes, there were serious issues of my father being unclean, in dirty clothes and clothes being destroyed in the laundry. Here, his clothes are very well cared for.

The staff here are very engaging and personable.
They call mum by her name which is important.

Mum has settled well and we believe this is down to the professional staff engaging with her.

I can only go on my experience and have to say since my mum has been here, she looks like a different person. Prior to her coming here, she was very ill. Not eating, not getting proper care, and she wasn’t safe. I think the staff are very caring, even when they’re busy! They’ve always treated us with respect.

They put on lots of different events, and try different ways to make money, to pay for extras for the residents. Thank you to all of you!

Impressed by the organisation to take residents on a picnic. More than one trip required involving boarding and disboarding individuals many who may be in wheelchairs must be quite a task.

Our whole experience of Victoria Manor has been superb from our first visit to our Mum going into care. We feel it is a very well managed home. The staff are all very polite, caring and welcoming as well as being extremely helpful on all points. Mother has settled in very well, which we weren't expecting. We feel this is all due to the staff and the very happy atmosphere within the home.

The care that my mother needs is always carried out with dignity, kindness and always with a smile from all staff. The team is led by very efficient and able (continually) management team with a view by improving and developing the residents' experience.

Care plans are always updated and shared with me on behalf of my mother. I could not wish for a better plan for her.

I cannot believe the difference both physically and mentally in my mother since entering the home. From being hardly able to walk she now will nearly 'run' up and down the corridor and seems to keep leaving her frame as she has become so confident on her feet. Although suffering from dementia she seems far more alert and at least recognises me.... more than happened before she entered the home.

This is all down to the considerable care and attention she has been given but also the never-ending food she eats. From breakfast on the first morning she arrived from hospital she hasn't stopped eating. As a family, we couldn't be more impressed with what the home has done for her.
