My mother was placed in your care while arrangements are being made for care in her own home. I have visited every day and mother has been in fine fettle at all times due to the kind and considerate care by all staff members who have cared for her.

Where to begin, this home was an excellent decision when choosing a home for my Nan. There are so many places out that and trust me, I certainly looked very hard to find the perfect one. Unfortunately, there is no place like home but when the situation requires immediate action this home was the best
choice in my eyes.
I use the past tense as unfortunately my Nan passed away in the home and I could not have asked more from the staff who made sure she was comfortable and we had everything that we needed.
Choosing a care home is so difficult but take a look around this one, once you have been in a few it's easier to choose. The place was always very clean including her room. Although the place can be very busy at times (as I spent a lot of my time in there with my Nan) if you need anything, the staff are always very close and attentive. Take it from me, it's a very good choice.

My mother has been at Victoria Mews Care Home since January 2016. She has mixed dementia and other health issues. After an initial settling in period, she has been very happy at Victoria Mews Care Home. She has a nice room and is able to have her own furniture, photos etc. The staff are all very caring
and loving to my mum. They are efficient and always able to show empathy to her and other residents. The home is clean and tidy. Cleaning staff also have a good relationship with all residents. There is always things going on in Victoria Mews Care Home to entertain residents.

All staff go above and beyond their duty. All are welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother went for a weeks respite last year and after unfortunately breaking her hip in fall, which required her to have full time care, Victoria Mews was our first choice of care home!

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.615)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.615) out of 10 for Victoria Mews Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.915 for Victoria Mews Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.915
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Victoria Mews Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
