Oriel Care Home has provided a very warm and friendly home for my mother. All the staff are kind and patient. Myself and all her visitors have been made welcome.

My grandfather entered Oriel Care Home following a recent fall where he broke his hip. He had spent 6 weeks in a step-down facility, where he had been treated poorly. His health had deteriorated, he had lost weight and was plagued by urine infections. Following this awful experience, we were sceptical of the care industry. However, I have to say the care he has received from the staff at Oriel has been exceptional. He is very well looked after, has gained weight immediately and is no longer plagued with urine infections.

Overall Experience
Two years ago my mother moved into Oriel at very short notice. We were fortunate that a bright sunny room was available. My mother really didn't want to be in a care home but staff at Oriel were very kind and sympathetic to both my mother and myself. I was guided by their experience of settling in new residents and eventually my mother realised that, actually, she was fortunate to be there.
I don't live locally but I talk to my mother on the telephone every day. The staff are always cheerful and friendly when they pick up the phone.
They recognise my voice and know my name. When I visit there is always a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere. The home is well maintained and is kept clean and tidy. My mother is a fussy eater and has a small appetite but she likes the food in general and she is encouraged to eat. She has been well looked after when she has been unwell.

I am happy to recommend Oriel Care Home. The older part of the building has its drawbacks but these are more than compensated for by the happy atmosphere and the high quality of the staff.

Overall Experience
As a family, we had little experience of care homes, when my mother had to go into one a year ago.
We visited a good number in the Stourbridge area. Accommodation standards varied a little as did the management. What was noticeable was the difference in the care staff.

The staff at Oriel are decent and kind. They are actively seen to care. Caring does not come across as a chore. My mother is safe and happy there.
