Our friend was admitted to Russell Court in November 2024 directly from Russell's Hall Hospital, after suffering a bleed on the brain.
She improved enormously during the five months that she was a resident there, where she received care and encouragement from the physio team, occupational therapist and nursing staff - headed up by a particular member of staff, who was always happy to answer questions and concerns.
Admin made sure that our friend's husband was cared for too when he was visiting. The new lady took over as manager during 'our' time there, and made a significant difference. She was also a great sounding board when we were looking at the way forward, or had any specific worries. She was a star!
Our friend has moved to a home which is more convenient for her husband to visit, but we were all sad to leave Russell Court behind!
I have given four stars rather than five, as the fabric of the building needs some attention, and the rooms are not very generous in size.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback about your friend's time at Russell Court. We're thrilled to hear that she made such progress, and it's rewarding to know our team's care contributed to her recovery. Your kind words will be shared with everyone involved. We're also grateful for your...

I went to see my husband nearly every day at the care home. The people I met were very nice and very good. The physios got him walking along to corridor and he managed to get to the toilet with help from a carer and his walker. When he returned home after 6 weeks, he had improved and was able to walk to the toilet with the help of a carer and myself. He has not had to use the commode.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly grateful for your trust in our care team and are delighted to hear about your husband's progress during his stay with us.It is heartening to know that our physiotherapists and carers were able to...
I could not have asked for better care and support. It is only due to the staff and physios that I was back on my feet after just under 4 weeks. Thank you.
The management played a big role in this by keeping me informed and providing transport to my hospital visits.
I will be forever grateful to everyone for helping me through a painful time. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad we could be of assistance during your ill health. If there is anything else we can do to support or you just need a friendly face, a chat and a cuppa, please do not hesitate to call or pop in.
I would like to express my sincerest thanks for the care of my brother. He was admitted to Russell Court in August 2024 with terminal cancer, and he spent the last six months of his life there. He was treated with respect, and his welfare was carefully assessed, and his care administered by considerate and competent care assistants and medical personnel who liaised with the Palliative team. It is a comfort and blessing to me that he was kept as comfortable as possible to the end, and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
I would like to thank you for taking your time to complete a review after your brothers passing. It was a pleasure to support him achieve what he could throughout his deteriorating health. It was a true honour to care for him ensuring that he had a quality of life and experienced a pain free passing.
My husband is in this home, he is cared for amazingly meals look lovely and hygiene is great. All the staff are lovely, the residents play games to stay entertained, and have a TV in the room which my husband enjoys watching films and TV and listening to the radio.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to support his recovery and we wish you both all the very best.
My Father has received excellent care here. The staff are very caring and supportive and go the extra mile to make this difficult time a little easier.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback. This is a lovely review and is greatly appreciated regarding the care your father received.
Russell Court have taken excellent care of my husband. They have also been very supportive of me and my family.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback. This is a lovely review and is greatly appreciated.
There is a nice day room downstairs but it is under-utilised and patients are not encouraged to use it. The specialist podiatry team was only available for diabetic patients. This was a real shortcoming and resulted in Mum leaving with an infected foot ulcer.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience at Russell Court. I am pleased to hear your experience was mostly positive. We have noted your feedback regarding shortcomings in additional services, regrettably, Podiatry is a service provided by the NHS and we are...
All the staff are wonderful, caring and always smiling. My rehab is going well, physios are doing a great job for me. The food is excellent, they have accommodated my dietary needs as I have had bariatric surgery and can only eat pureed food and no dairy at all. It will be a sad day when I leave but a great day as next stop is back home. I cannot thank all here at Russell's Court for the care, help, and rehab I have received.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback. This is a fabulous review of the home as a whole; including the kitchen staff & rehab team, which it is greatly appreciated. You will be missed when you return home, but we are proud to have been a part of your journey to being back at home.
Can't fault the rehab my wife is receiving she has come a long way with the help of all the staff here the room she is in is clean and warm. The food is very good and she is checked on at regular intervals wouldn't want her anywhere else while she is undergoing rehab.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback. This is a lovely review of the home as a whole, including rehab placements and it is greatly appreciated.
As a relative visiting I was always welcomed with a smile and greeted with warmth by all staff.
The decor was a little tired and a fresh lack of paint was due soon I would have thought, but the most important thing was the care which was excellent.
We were also allowed to bring the family dog in - excellent.
Other care homes I have visited.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback. This is a lovely review and is greatly appreciated regarding the standard of care received. The decor throughout the home is refreshed at differing periods throughout the year, to ensure full refresh during the year. I can confirm corridor areas and some bedrooms are due to be refreshed during the final quarter of 2024.
All the staff were kind, attentive and helpful. They often went above and beyond what was asked of them. They were always cheerful. However, some of the night staff could be abrupt and over-vigorous in handling.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience at Russell Court. I am pleased to hear your experience was mostly positive. We take all comments and views seriously so I would like to assure you we will look into the comments you have made regarding night staff and will take any steps necessary to help improve the service all staff provide moving forward.
