Overall Experience
My dad was moved to Russell Court for rehabilitation following a fall, that had resulted in a break of the leg and ankle along with subsequent unexpected health complications. Dad has never been in nursing home setting and as family this was new to us all. From the outset, the professional care, patience and respect shown to my dad has been exceptional and continues to be so; this has extended to us as a family. It is a time of uncertainty, meaning there a several occasions where we are seeking reassurance, have questions whether it be nursing home related or requiring clarity from various clinical experts external to the home; the management, clinical and care teams in the home do their utmost to support us through this.

On a lighter, it was Dad's birthday in week 2 of his stay in the home, the team surprised him with such an effort to make his day special and ensured all family that visited were made welcome.

My father has been at Russell Court since February 2023. It's a wonderful nursing home with a personal touch. From a smooth initial transition to lots of fun and laughter during tough times. All the staff are brilliant and we recommend Russel Court and are sad to be leaving.

I was admitted post-hospital stay for further physio rehab following a fracture. The stay was generally good. The room was too small for use of rehab e.g. couldn't access the window with walking aids. The staff were generally brilliant, found one Healthcare Assistant quite rude.

I feel the professional care and respect shown to my husband is exceptional. All the staff are very pleasant and show real empathy towards him and always have time for any questions or queries I may have. It is a bright, cheery, clean place and has a lovely, pleasant feel to it. The support and reassurance given to me during such a stressful time has been amazing. It's so difficult when you have to make the decision of professional care for a loved one. Russell Court was definitely the right decision for us.

Overall Experience

Seven weeks of loved one in here. Vile, negligible place. Residents sit in wheelchairs for 6+ hours at a time, zero movement. Not transferred to seats. Bedsore within 2 weeks. Buzzers left ringing for over 30 minutes. Nan showered once in 7 weeks. Fingernails caked in dirt. Food-splattered clothes hung back up. Told had to wait from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm to have a wee as the staff was on handover. Poorly managed break-wise. Often no staff to be found. Drinks are provided in dirty tea-stained beakers. Residents either stay in a room on their own or sit in their wheelchairs at the dining table all day. The nice comfy lounge is never used as apparently the heating is broken. Residents in the dining area do not have carers present even during meals. There are some amazing staff. The lady who does the activities is a godsend for the residents. Two other members of staff in particular are great too. The nursing side had a lot of admin errors, serious ones - communication is lax. Overall I wouldn't even put a dog in here. Do not recommend.

I was only in Russell Court for 6 days due to a stroke which took the left side of my body but in that time the physios managed to get me out of bed and start to walk and with perseverance, I have managed to walk without any aides.
All the staff from managers, physio, medical and the main team, the carers work so hard to make you feel at ease and look after you so well (hats off to them).

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone from Russell Court.

Having had experience of previous care homes and them not being great, I was so worried when my grandad needed rehabilitation care after breaking his leg. Within moments of walking through the door at Russell Court, I was put at ease immediately. I was met with a lovely smile and the care I was shown was amazing. My grandad was in for a week and every member of staff I came across was so friendly, they all said hello and many asked if I knew where everything was. The care they showed for him gave him some dignity back. He was even talking about staying there permanently, I think that says it all.
The weeks leading up to his stay here were tough, what the home gave us back was being with my grandad again and enjoying his company.

Sadly he passed away but again how the staff handled this was with so much empathy and just simple kindness. I can't recommend this home enough. Thank you for making my grandad's last few days happy for him, I will be forever grateful.

After having been in hospital for some seven weeks, my mother was sent to Russell Court and immediately received the comfort care and attention she required. She had care and peace in her final days which was a relief to all her family. Our sincere thanks to everyone.

My father was in Russell Court for almost three weeks on a "step-down program".
The care he received was exemplary, all of the staff were kind, professional and happy, which was so refreshing.
Dad made fantastic progress whilst at Russell Court going from basically bedbound to being able to rise from a chair, stand and walk with a frame. Miraculous for an 83-year-old with two forms of blood cancer, an aneurysm and suspected Parkinson's!

Thank you so very much.

Asked by a relative of my friend to present a video call of my friend's sister's funeral which was being held in Nottingham. A staff member at the home was very helpful in setting up a room and large screen television for the video presentation for my friend, her twin sister and her carer plus my wife to watch the service live. The staff member's assistance was very much appreciated by all our group at the time. Thanks for accommodating us all.

I felt my husband was well looked after. The staff were helpful, friendly and happy. They treated my husband with dignity and they were happy, smiling and good to be around.

My only disappointment was that, on a night, one of the confused residents was allowed to wander around and enter other people's bedrooms. I did complain but apparently nothing can be done. I do feel concerned about this. I was told he was harmless but I still think it's wrong. Apart from this, I think Russell Court Care Home is a very good nursing, rehab. Physios are excellent and a lovely atmosphere.

My family come every month from Wales to see my aunt and support my uncle because the home and staff are so helpful and friendly. They are committed to their job. The shock for my uncle has softened because he is confident in her care and wellbeing (we all are).

My mom was only in Russell Court for 17 days before she passed. The staff were brilliant, hard working, friendly and even gave us drinks. We had moved Mom from a care home that had falling standards and lack of care and the difference was mind blowing. Everyone here seemed so happy, the manager was the best I have ever seen (ex-nurse I was). My only regret is that I did not move my Mom sooner to this brilliant home.

My father-in-law was at Russell Court for the last 6 weeks of his life. I can't fault this home. Care was 100%, rooms were good. Carers went the extra mile whenever they could. I would definitely recommend it! I've worked in care and would rate this as one of the best homes I've seen.

First time experience of a nursing home. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care, support and kindness to myself and Mother. We were made the most welcome we could be. It felt like a home with activities, entertainment and overall friendliness of everyone from managers, nurses, carers, kitchen staff, housekeeping and administration.
