Unfortunately, this will be my last review of such a wonderful Care Home Dingle Meadow. My mum passed away at the end of March with caring staff at her side, love and dignity given throughout her last hours.

In fact, Mum's stay with Dingle Meadow could never be faulted by myself or my family we could visit anytime and never found anything to complain about just made so welcome. Dingle Meadow had been Mum's home for over five years without their care she would not have survived until almost 99 years, so I really hope other families will visit and chat with all members of staff including residents and realise what a very special place this is.

My father was a resident in a temporary enhanced assessment bed between November to December. He was on a dementia wing for this assessment but also had several medical ailments including lung cancer as a primary diagnosis I would like to highly commend the care he received during his relatively short stay with the team. I would have no hesitation in placing any other relative for care. The whole team demonstrated compassion, kindness and care as well as expert knowledge. It was with regret Dad could not see his days out with you. Thank you.

As usual, when visiting my mother-in-law I found her in good spirits and immaculately turned out. I can only say all of the staff are kind and professional, with dignity given to the residents. I always enjoy the experience of the visit.

Although our Dad only spent a month at Dingle Meadow he had the best care you could have wished for. To us it wasn't a care home it was a five-star hotel. He loved the first three weeks there, lived like a king, then was taken ill. I highly recommend this care home. The staff are amazing, always a smile on everyone's face and they can't do enough for you.

Warm, welcoming, friendly staff with a comfortable lounge and delicious buffet served during our visit, which was a very welcome surprise and made our visit more enjoyable as we could all share food together. We found the home clean and warm, and our relative excellently cared for. A massive reassurance as none of us lives close to the home. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff we met.

Throughout my mother's stay at the care home, I have found her care, from what I have seen, to be first-class. The staff are very poltie, even when very busy. I am always put through to my mother when I phone her. I have always been able to take my mother out for the day. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

My nan has been at Dingle Meadow for the last three years, unfortunately, the whole family live very far away - I’m in Aberdeen and other family members are abroad so coupled with Covid and logistics it’s been tough.
Each time I have managed to get to Birmingham the team have been nothing but kind and helpful to provide a facility to at least see Nan. Of course, I’d rather be inside not just in the pod but that’s how it is right now.

Nan is very old, nearly 98, she’s clearly well looked after and comfortable - it seems they look after her very well.

I would not recommend this care home. Our experience there was very disappointing and my Grandmother had two very miserable years there.
I would not want anyone else to be left with the memories we have of our Grandmother's final days and seeing how she was let down. If it hadn’t been for the restrictions from Covid we would have moved her to another home.

Unfortunately due to the review rules, I cannot give reasons why it was so appalling but I hope I can warn others not to make the same mistake we did.

Thank you for your review. At HC-One, we strive to deliver kind care every day to our Residents and their families. I am sorry that you feel the level of service you received during your Grandmother’s stay was not to the high standard you have the right to expect. I assure you that every feedback...

In February 2021 at the height of the pandemic, we made the difficult decision to move both Mum and Dad into care. We couldn’t view Dingle Meadow in person but we had a Zoom show round. Mum liked the look of it, Dad was reticent but accepted that they needed help. From the moment they arrived the staff bent over backwards to make them feel welcome, their kindness and patience with my dad, in particular, was amazing. The food is plentiful and they are clean and comfortable. Visits were through a window to start with but now as an essential carer, I am able to visit in their room. The staff are helpful and they keep me up to date on everything that is going on. Emails to the manager are answered quickly or I get a phone call response. The senior carers are brilliant in keeping me informed of my parents' needs/changes in medication/doctor appointments. Dad still isn’t happy at being in a home but even he now says ‘it’s good here, they really look after us’. Believe me, from him, that is praise indeed!

My father was a resident for two years and during that time was very well cared for.
My father was happy there and I felt fortunate that he was being looked after in such a well organised and caring home.
Full credit to all who work at the home and the manager.
I was always kept informed of my father's well-being and could phone anytime for updates.

Exceptional performance by all during Covid in looking after our loved ones in such a selfless and compassionate way.

Due to the present restrictions, it's difficult to comment due to not being able to enter the home and observe, so can only go on hearsay. All staff are polite and extremely helpful when I call, but I often find that requests are not logged or information is not always passed on to the relevant person, often because of staff being too busy. I suggested before lockdown that a log-book for non-urgent requests be implemented to improve communication but so far has not been actioned. Laundry is another issue. I hear frequently about lost clothing which is not acceptable and it appears to be badly organised. Residents should have timetabled laundry per room to help resolve this problem. I always hear about the activities provided and these are well enjoyed and looked forward to but there does not seem to be any designated daily exercise for residents. Overall, we are fairly happy with the standard of care and support of staff, especially during the past year.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback received. Following our telephone conversation recently we were able to discuss your concerns regarding callbacks and appreciate your suggestion regarding a non-urgent request book. I confirmed that I would ask a member of staff to help sort out...

Our mother went into Dingle Meadows in September 2020 after 16 months of me and my sisters trying to look after her following our father's death. It wasn't a good time for any of us but since going into the home she's settled and extremely happy doing lots of activities and eating well, made friends and is a totally different person. She's happy and safe. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble.

Relief! it is the word that comes to mind when were think of our mother and the luck we had when we chose Dingle Meadow. Our mum was placed here in urgency in Lockdown. Originally for respite but within two weeks, we made the decision for her to become a permanent resident. Although we have never been inside the home we have through regular contact have no concerns whatsoever regarding the care and attention our mum receives. Communication at this awful time is key and they have been excellent throughout. I can't comment on all the options due to lockdown but can't wait until we can go into the home ourselves. Highly recommend.

Meet the Team (1)

Samera Musa
Samera MusaJob Title:Home Manager

Through the 15 years I have been working at Dingle Meadow Care Home, I realised that kind care is not about ticking boxes—it’s about the small, human moments that make life meaningful. I understood that kind care is about presence. It’s about being there, quietly, when someone needs reassurance.

Kind care is woven into everyday life here. It’s in the way a carer remembers how someone likes their tea, or how staff pause to listen to a story they’ve heard a dozen times before, because they know it matters to the person telling it. It’s in the laughter that fills the lounge, the gentle patience during difficult days, and the respect shown in every interaction.

For me, kind care is not just a practice—it’s a culture. It’s the belief that every resident deserves dignity, compassion, and a sense of belonging. As a manager, my greatest responsibility is to nurture that culture, so that every member of the team understands that care is not only about meeting needs, but about touching lives.

Kind care is the difference between a house and a home. And every day, I feel privileged to help make this place a home filled with warmth, respect, and humanity.
