Dingle Meadow care home, situated in a peaceful residential area in Oldbury, in the heart of the Black Country, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential and residential dementia care.

The two sitting rooms and two dining areas at Dingle Meadow care home provide a relaxed setting for eating and socialising. The hairdressing salon is always popular, while the pretty, enclosed garden, looked after by some residents, is a great spot to catch up with friends and family.

The catering team at Dingle Meadow understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors. My nan has been at Dingle Meadow for the last three years, unfortunately, the whole family live very far away - I’m in Aberdeen and other family members are abroad so coupled with Covid and logistics it’s been tough.
Each time I have managed to get to Birmingham the team have been nothing but kind
and helpful to provide a facility to at least see Nan. Of course, I’d rather be inside not just in the pod but that’s how it is right now.
Nan is very old, nearly 98, she’s clearly well looked after and comfortable - it seems they look after her very well.

I would not recommend this care home. Our experience there was very disappointing and my Grandmother had two very miserable years there.
I would not want anyone else to be left with the memories we have of our Grandmother's final days and seeing how she was let down. If it hadn’t been for the restrictions
from Covid we would have moved her to another home.
Unfortunately due to the review rules, I cannot give reasons why it was so appalling but I hope I can warn others not to make the same mistake we did.

In February 2021 at the height of the pandemic, we made the difficult decision to move both Mum and Dad into care. We couldn’t view Dingle Meadow in person but we had a Zoom show round. Mum liked the look of it, Dad was reticent but accepted that they needed help. From the moment they arrived the staff
bent over backwards to make them feel welcome, their kindness and patience with my dad, in particular, was amazing. The food is plentiful and they are clean and comfortable. Visits were through a window to start with but now as an essential carer, I am able to visit in their room. The staff are helpful and they keep me up to date on everything that is going on. Emails to the manager are answered quickly or I get a phone call response. The senior carers are brilliant in keeping me informed of my parents' needs/changes in medication/doctor appointments. Dad still isn’t happy at being in a home but even he now says ‘it’s good here, they really look after us’. Believe me, from him, that is praise indeed!

My father was a resident for two years and during that time was very well cared for.
My father was happy there and I felt fortunate that he was being looked after in such a well organised and caring home.
Full credit to all who work at the home and the manager.
I was always kept informed of my
father's well-being and could phone anytime for updates.
Exceptional performance by all during Covid in looking after our loved ones in such a selfless and compassionate way.

Staff are very helpful.

Due to the present restrictions, it's difficult to comment due to not being able to enter the home and observe, so can only go on hearsay. All staff are polite and extremely helpful when I call, but I often find that requests are not logged or information is not always passed on to the relevant person,
often because of staff being too busy. I suggested before lockdown that a log-book for non-urgent requests be implemented to improve communication but so far has not been actioned. Laundry is another issue. I hear frequently about lost clothing which is not acceptable and it appears to be badly organised. Residents should have timetabled laundry per room to help resolve this problem. I always hear about the activities provided and these are well enjoyed and looked forward to but there does not seem to be any designated daily exercise for residents. Overall, we are fairly happy with the standard of care and support of staff, especially during the past year.

Following our telephone conversation recently we were able to discuss your concerns regarding callbacks and appreciate your suggestion regarding a non-urgent request book. I confirmed that I would ask a member of staff to help sort out your Aunt’s wardrobe to see if anything is missing. As also discussed we are in the process of setting our TVs up with a smart lead to enable Residents to join in with exercise classes. Our mother went into Dingle Meadows in September 2020 after 16 months of me and my sisters trying to look after her following our father's death. It wasn't a good time for any of us but since going into the home she's settled and extremely happy doing lots of activities and eating well, made friends
and is a totally different person. She's happy and safe. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble.

Relief! it is the word that comes to mind when were think of our mother and the luck we had when we chose Dingle Meadow. Our mum was placed here in urgency in Lockdown. Originally for respite but within two weeks, we made the decision for her to become a permanent resident. Although we have never been
inside the home we have through regular contact have no concerns whatsoever regarding the care and attention our mum receives. Communication at this awful time is key and they have been excellent throughout. I can't comment on all the options due to lockdown but can't wait until we can go into the home ourselves. Highly recommend.

The home has looked after Mom for the last two years. They always do their best to accommodate her needs. They respect her dignity and privacy. Through the virus, they have been amazing, keeping me in touch and taking excellent care of her. Couldn't wish for a better home and staff.

Mom has been a resident at Dingle Meadow since December 2019. She is well cared for and all the staff is excellent. Dingle Meadow is spotlessly clean and fresh. This was the home of choice and we had to wait a short while until a room became available, but we knew that it was worth waiting for. Mom
couldn't be in better care. She is safe and secure.

“For me, kind care is person-centred, always treating people with the compassion and understanding that I would expect for myself.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Emma has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Emma closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Dingle Meadow.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Emma remarked:


“There’s nothing more rewarding for me than seeing Residents smiling and enjoying life.”


Outside of work, Emma devotes her time to her two gorgeous ragdoll cats and raising money for animal charities.
