Always a warm, friendly, family atmosphere.
Very personal home from home where everyone is 'treated with kindness' and care in a very pleasant environment.

Super food and immaculately clean and well-maintained.

Staff are very friendly, helpful and caring. (All staff including management). Home we feel needs updating and money spending on it (especially the resident's rooms). The garden is nice but needs attention to detail, i.e. weeds.

The entertainment team is very good, communication is very good. The social media page is excellent. Very homely feel and residents seem happy.

Thank you for your kind feedback regarding our staff team here at The Croft. We have an ongoing development plan for the home which includes all areas, and we have recently invested in new double glazing throughout the premises. Our gardener also visits the home weekly attending to the garden so...

Excellent staff, always caring and helpful. Warm friendly atmosphere and homely. Building is a little tired in places and could do with a lick of paint and whilst there is some updating progress on this is slow. I understand the food is reasonable. There’s a mix of medical conditions so conversations with others can be limited in our experience. Overall the home is comfortable, warm and friendly and the staff are excellent.

My Mother has been a resident at The Croft since October 2021. The day we arrived with Mum I was expecting to be greeted by a Manager to welcome Mum. I felt we were very much left to our own devices. Mum felt very vulnerable. Eventually mum settled. The staff have always been caring, pleasant and respectful, the staff know Mum very well. Mum enjoys having the hairdresser. I appreciate the phone calls when there are any changes in Mum's medication or health. Mum's room is always clean and tidy, and the laundry is done so quickly. Mum always looks clean and fresh. There is a lovely homely feeling as you enter The Croft. The activities that are on offer are a great way of keeping Mum active and stimulated. Mum has a variety of foods which she enjoys. On my visits staff always welcome me by name and I see how caring they are towards all residents. I am very happy that Mum is in good hands.

My mother has been well looked after since moving to The Croft at the end of August 2020. Firstly, let me say that it is difficult to gain a true impression of the home against all the restrictions of Covid. I do feel that the staff have done their best under extreme circumstances, but I would have liked more communication from the home/owner during the lockdown. Regular emails would not have been difficult. There have been many inconsistancies in information regarding testing and rules, depending on whom one speaks to. I feel better training is needed in this. A broken window in my mother's room remains unrepaired since she moved into the room several months ago.

I base my opinion on what I have experienced. Due to corona lockdown, I have only seen external areas and visiting rooms. I find these areas very pleasant, I would say they are safe and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My sister has been here around nine months now and I would say her wellbeing has improved greatly. Now the lockdown is over, I am hopeful that things will get even better.

My dad came into the care home in March 2019. We had already checked out other care homes and The Croft was superior in all aspects. We likened The Croft to a hotel with its finishes and general maintenance. The care my father receives is second to none and the staff have all gone out of their way to ensure he is looked after and gets all his needs, relating to medication and meals etc. We could not rate this home any higher.

I visited the above home yesterday, under restrictions, everything had been arranged in a safe professional way and all PPE was waiting on the table for my use. My mother-in-law was very pleased to see me as I had not seen her face to face since March. The only downside was that she couldn't hear me very well through the glass but we still had an enjoyable half-hour.

My mother has been at the Croft since February and is completely happy and at home there and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Being a small care home, it’s very personal and all the residents know each other and the staff. The rooms are spacious yet cosy and the communal areas are comfortable and homely. I would highly recommend the Croft.

I have seen many residential care homes and the Croft is one of the best. Choice of care home depends to some extent on needs and individual preferences and how individuals will fit in with other residents. Time was taken to consider this and our friend has developed well socially. Undoubtedly this is also down to the excellent caring staff.

The Croft is well managed and a beautiful and very clean (in looks and smell) care home. It is home from home with lovely furniture and decor. The staff are professional, caring and very friendly. My mother gets the very best care and is treated with respect and dignity. The lines of communication are always open on a daily basis and I am consulted on my mother's care regularly. The food looks wonderful and my Mom has put weight on which she needed to. In the summer the residents were out in well-kept gardens enjoying the sunshine. When activities were not restricted due to Covid-19 there were many opportunities for Mom to join in and it was lovely to see her dancing to the D-day celebrations there. On my visits, the staff welcome me and are friendly and I notice how well all residents are treated.

Review from Linda A (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 November 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The staff at The Croft looked after my mother for the last couple of weeks of her life, they took her in as an emergency admission on a Sunday afternoon.
Nothing was too much for the staff, my mother received outstanding care and nursing.
They organised a special bed, called in the hospice nurses immediately and did everything they possibly could to help Mum!
They were caring, professional, proactive as she deteriorated; calling in any and all specialist care as and when required.
When she arrived at The Croft, my Mum was distressed, disorientated and very anxious. The Croft staff went out of their way to make Mum comfortable, relaxed and calm.
The staff here are simply amazing, they do a fantastic job.
They even looked after her family, myself included making us feel welcome whenever we arrived to be with Mum.
I will be forever grateful to ALL the staff at The Croft.

Thank you.
