The Croft stands out as a care facility. It is warm and friendly, well staffed with staff who all genuinely care about the residents at the home, They are always approachable and prepared to go the extra mile to help both the residents and the friends and family of these residents. When my mother just went in she was frail and isolated she is now returning to her former self joining in with activities and joking with the staff.

The staff are always welcoming and polite. Whenever I see them with Dad they are kind towards him, caring and take their time with him. They never rush. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The proof is that Dad seems happy, comfortable, warm and well looked after. Having visited him, you always leave in the knowledge he is safe and you can walk away without worry. It's a very, very well run establishment.

My experience of the home is related to my mother's residency. She has been looked after by all the staff and has commented on the high quality of food and how she gets on with all.

She has been encouraged to take part in activities and enjoyed them when she has made the effort. The senior staff have all been very helpful in explaining how things are and answering any questions.

I am treated with kindness from all the staff and helped with duties that I find a little difficult at times!! I find I can have personal advice from senior staff in certain matters which is appreciated. The standard of my nice bedroom is lovely and very nicely kept. I much appreciate every asset!!

Very clean and friendly home. Staff seem proficient in caring for residents and maintain a friendly, homely atmosphere. Comfortable facilities, bedroom a little small but quite adequate. Good activities planned for residents but my mother can't do them all. Fees quite expensive but not out of line with other homes.

I usually come with my friend to see her sister and I can only say I find everything and everyone excellent, very helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend the home and be happy to stay here myself should the need ever arise.

Have been made comfortable in unusual surroundings. Senior Staff and other members of staff ensure my comfort during day and night - I feel safe. My requests, which vary from hospital appointments to well being, I cannot fault.

It's alright, food is nice, service is nice. The staff are friendly and caring. There is always plenty going on. They encourage me to be independent and don't rush me to go to bed at night. I don't sleep too well at night and the staff are here if I need them. I like to get up early and the night staff help to get me dressed early.

Mum has been a resident at The Croft since February 2015. The standard of care and attention to detail is outstanding.
The staff are friendly and approachable, while the management team are second to none.
One example - the chef heard Mum liked a certain brand of ice creams, so he brought in a supply so she could enjoy one as an occasional treat.

Easily the best care home in Wolverhampton.

When my mother arrived she was in need of care and support, especially overnight. She has been very well looked after and has put on a little weight having been very thin. She is happy although confused and is continually grateful for the care she is receiving. The staff are all friendly and helpful and my mother is offered choices of meals although mostly unable to choose. She is also encouraged by staff to participate with other residents which is something she would not do without some help. The family and I are very pleased with the care she is reiceving.

My mother has been a resident of The Croft for about 18 months and I have visited her regularly during her stay. It is evident that this care home is exceedingly well run and particular praise is due to the management team.
My mother is treated with care and professionalism - her needs are regularly assessed - she is consulted daily about her care, needs and diet. The food is nourishing, served in portions which are appropriate to her appetite and she has plenty of choice.

On several occasions, mum has needed urgent medical attention. This has been spotted by staff in a timely manner and dealt with appropriately. I cannot stress too much how happy I am with the care provided.

Overall Experience

My Grandma has lived at The Croft for just over a year and from the very beginning the care has been of a very high standard. I visit care homes as part of my job and The Croft is one of the best I have seen. It is always clean and well presented and the TV isn't always on. The staff are friendly and clearly respect and care for the residents. They worked hard to help my Grandma settle and they are also very supportive of my Mum which means a lot. The manager has taken the time to get to know my Grandma and makes sure the care she receives not only meets her needs but also her preferences. She has dealt with any issues and concerns promptly and effectively.

The Croft provides my 92-year-old mother with a safe, caring environment which she finds very agreeable. Despite her care needs, she considers the help she gets helps her continue to feel at home and amongst friendly, helpful staff. She often says The Croft is the next best place to live after her old home.

As you can see from the ratings below I am generally happy with the care my mother is receiving, however, I am concerned by the recent high turnover of staff. Retention at the home has previously been good and a bonus to ensuring a consistent standard of care and service to the residents. Only time will tell if the staff changes will have a positive or negative impact.

Reply from Pete Saini, Proprietor at The Croft

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our home.

Your input and the feedback from all of our residents is very important to us, as we want expectations to be met as far as possible.

Retention of our staff has always been very stable and a credit towards offering consistent levels...
