The Croft is a CQC-rated ‘Outstanding’ (March 2020) care home in Wolverhampton that provides round-the-clock residential care for older people, through dedicated staff who understand how worrying it can be to ensure your loved one is well taken care of.

As soon as they arrive, your loved one will become part of the family and a member of the friendly group of residents that staff care for.

They will receive constant care and attention, support and companionship whilst catering for their every need and personal tastes. It doesn't matter whether you're funded privately or by social services, you'll be welcome here.

When my friend and I first visited my sister we were absolutely thrilled how warm and welcoming it was. The staff are so kind and helpful. The furnishings are so tasteful and comfortable, home from home. I'm so pleased for my sister.

Have been made comfortable in unusual surroundings. Senior Staff and other members of staff ensure my comfort during day and night - I feel safe. My requests, which vary from hospital appointments to well being, I cannot fault.

It's alright, food is nice, service is nice. The staff are friendly and caring. There is always plenty going on. They encourage me to be independent and don't rush me to go to bed at night. I don't sleep too well at night and the staff are here if I need them. I like to get up early and the night staff
help to get me dressed early.

Mum has been a resident at The Croft since February 2015. The standard of care and attention to detail is outstanding.
The staff are friendly and approachable, while the management team are second to none.
One example - the chef heard Mum liked a certain brand of ice creams, so he brought in a supply
so she could enjoy one as an occasional treat.
Easily the best care home in Wolverhampton.

When my mother arrived she was in need of care and support, especially overnight. She has been very well looked after and has put on a little weight having been very thin. She is happy although confused and is continually grateful for the care she is receiving. The staff are all friendly and helpful
and my mother is offered choices of meals although mostly unable to choose. She is also encouraged by staff to participate with other residents which is something she would not do without some help. The family and I are very pleased with the care she is reiceving.

My mother has been a resident of The Croft for about 18 months and I have visited her regularly during her stay. It is evident that this care home is exceedingly well run and particular praise is due to the management team.
My mother is treated with care and professionalism - her needs are regularly
assessed - she is consulted daily about her care, needs and diet. The food is nourishing, served in portions which are appropriate to her appetite and she has plenty of choice.
On several occasions, mum has needed urgent medical attention. This has been spotted by staff in a timely manner and dealt with appropriately. I cannot stress too much how happy I am with the care provided.

My Grandma has lived at The Croft for just over a year and from the very beginning the care has been of a very high standard. I visit care homes as part of my job and The Croft is one of the best I have seen. It is always clean and well presented and the TV isn't always on. The staff are friendly and
clearly respect and care for the residents. They worked hard to help my Grandma settle and they are also very supportive of my Mum which means a lot. The manager has taken the time to get to know my Grandma and makes sure the care she receives not only meets her needs but also her preferences. She has dealt with any issues and concerns promptly and effectively.

The Croft provides my 92-year-old mother with a safe, caring environment which she finds very agreeable. Despite her care needs, she considers the help she gets helps her continue to feel at home and amongst friendly, helpful staff. She often says The Croft is the next best place to live after her old

As you can see from the ratings below I am generally happy with the care my mother is receiving, however, I am concerned by the recent high turnover of staff. Retention at the home has previously been good and a bonus to ensuring a consistent standard of care and service to the residents. Only time
will tell if the staff changes will have a positive or negative impact.

Retention of our staff has always been very stable and a credit towards offering consistent levels of care. Recently a small number of people have left our employment due to retirement after many years of service, or to pursue careers in other industries. As a result we have recruited new team members who are as caring as they are qualified to ensure that we maintain our very high standards.

My mother is looked after extremely well and it is a huge relief to my family that she is being cared for so well. She has Alzheimer's disease and I cared for her at home for three years until her disease progressed to the stage where it was not possible to care for her at home properly any longer.
The Croft is a beautiful home, tastefully decorated and kept immaculate, with extra touches such as proper table napkins and flowers on the dining room tables which reinforce the home away from home atmosphere. It reduces my sadness to visit my mother in such lovely surroundings. The staff are exceptional. They are always polite and helpful, professional and caring. The Manager deserves a special mention. She is kind, efficient and professional and always finds time to chat and advise if asked.

My mother has lived at The Croft for six years, she is now nearly 97, initially she was mentally alert and joined in activities, unfortunately she now has dementia and is unwilling to participate in much. Throughout and to date her care has been exemplary she is treated with dignity and kindness and
I happy living there. The home is clean and welcoming, fresh flowers and pleasing décor, several communal rooms, lounge, library and inglenook, with a lovely garden with seats a summer house and gazebo visitors are welcome at any time.

The home, its very good, excellent. Food is good, hot and tasty. I'm allowed to have my own personal belongings which makes it homely for me. The gardens are colourful and pleasant but the pool has been neglected. To stop me getting bored I read, listen to music. Activities are very good inside the
home and I really enjoy going out visiting places every week with the staff. The care staff are good to me, caring and compassionate. When I press my call button they come fairly quickly.
