MHA Waterside House provides residential and dementia care for up to 60 residents within a comfortable and accessible living environment. Located just a short distance from Wednesfield shopping centre and Bentley Bridge retail park, with scenic spots like the nearby canal adding to its appeal. The home is made up of four distinct wings—Bluebell, Primrose, Magnolia, and Heather—each featuring en-suite rooms, lounges and shared dining areas.

The landscaped gardens offer residents a peaceful retreat to enjoy nature. With a summer house, flower-filled pocket gardens, and patio seating areas, the outdoor spaces are perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities. Residents actively engage in gardening projects like the Pot Gang, growing vegetables such as tomatoes, chillies, and potatoes for meals.

Specialising in dementia and residential care, the team utilises innovative tools like interactive ‘magic tables’ and robotic pets to engage and comfort residents. Long-serving staff, many of whom have been part of the team since 2005, provide compassionate, consistent care. The home also offers spiritual support through a chaplain and a relatives’ support group to keep families connected.

Waterside House provides a reassuringly familiar and homely setting where residents feel connected, comfortable, and cared for every day. Whether you’re searching for yourself or a loved one, for short stays or residential and dementia care, the team at Waterside House are here to help.

We visit my aunt every week and find the staff very welcoming. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The home is clean and my aunt is very well cared for always clean, hair beautiful (a visit to hairdresser in home each week). Lots of entertainment for the residents and keep fit. Exercise for
their minds and body.
A warm and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

Kind caring staff that go above and beyond to include the residents in fun activities. They always have time for a chat. The home itself is warm and welcoming. Families are made to feel so welcome when visiting. They help us create amazing memories with our mom, helping to create a fantastic tea party
for her recent birthday. All homes should be like this!

What a wonderful home Waterside House is, I say home because that's just what it feels like. I'm so glad we made the choice for my mom to stay there. Right from the start all the staff made her feel very welcome catering for all her needs always with a smile and kindness. As I live quite a way from
the home it is reassuring to know that I'm kept well informed of any issues or problems and they are always dealt with promptly. The home is always buzzing with something to keep everyone happy the entertainment girls are wonderful encouraging everyone to join in. What a wonderful team you all are. Thank you.

Waterside House is a warm and caring community.
The staff takes excellent care of my mom and all the other residents, which is such a relief knowing she is safe and happy.
I am kept aware of any health issues, receiving phone calls if there is a problem and the staff offering reassurance they are
dealing with any emergencies. As I live a long way from the home this is so helpful.
There are always activities of some sort happening which help to keep my mom happy and alert.
Music is said to help Dementia sufferers and you can always hear something on the sound system which is wonderful. The activities coordinators are amazing bringing the home to life and involving everyone. Thursday hairdressing day is a delight to see.
There's a great community of families and we all enjoy helping with activities and fundraising events.
Every member of staff gives 100% and deserves a big thank you.
I cannot praise Waterside House enough and am so happy we found them to help us with mom's autumn years.

Waterside is always very well maintained and all areas are cleaned to a high standard. Residents are very well cared for and regular activities and entertainment ensure that they do not become bored. My mother-in-law enjoys the food and is actually eating more than she did previously at home. The regular
religious services on a Sunday are a particularly welcome highlight of the week for her.

My Nan is at the home and she is settled and happy here. The staff are all kind and caring. It is clear to see whenever we visit that she is well looked after and that all the staff know my Nan and all show so much kindness to her everyone they see her.
The home is always so clean and my nan's room
is lovely. It feels like a nice place to be and not an old people’s home. Nan is always at a party or doing an activity which she loves and we love to see her so happy.

The staff at the home are all so kind and caring. They make the residents feel loved and cared for every single day. The home has two fantastic ladies who are the event ladies and they do a wonderful job making sure that the residents have fun each and every day. They had a wonderful Mother’s Day afternoon
tea event, St Patrick’s Day event and have a fun day planned for Easter, including residents and their families.
The food is lovely and the rooms are also very homely.
When you visit you can feel the happy, caring vibe in the home, which is so nice when you are trusting them to look after your loved one.

The care received by my dad at Waterside House was second to none. All staff members genuinely seemed to take great pride in their jobs and this was reflected in how kind and compassionate they are towards all of the residents. As someone whose father has dementia, you often worry that other people
do not understand the nuance of the disease and how this can manifest itself in agitation and discontent. At Waterside House, the carers are experts in dementia care. We cannot thank them enough for taking such fantastic care of Dad while he was in respite there. We really would recommend Waterside House to anyone who needs it.

My mother has been a resident of Waterside House Care Home since June 2022. I cannot fault the care she has received. All staff have gone over and above my expectations in all areas of her care. They have taken the time to get to know her and understand how her dementia affects her day-to-day life.
If
I have had a concern this has been dealt with in a professional and speedy manner, nothing is too much trouble.

Our mother has been a resident in Waterside House for over a year now and my first thoughts of the home have not changed. Every member of the staff is more than happy to help out, the home is clean and tidy which means it's safe for the residents to get around and standards are kept. The kitchen staff
cook good and wholesome food for sixty residents day after day which is no mean feat, the domestic staff clean the rooms every day. Moving Mom here is still the best thing we did as a family as she is kept busy with the various activities that the home does, encouraging the residents to take part.
Without moving Mom to Waterside House, I'm not sure how her overall health would be now!
A big thanks to all the staff for showing respect and dignity to our mom and for doing what you do to make our loved ones' lives as good as they can be. Gold star again.

Waterside House is a wonderful place. I am always very impressed by the loving care, not just between carers and residents but also between residents and residents and carers and carers. The carers do as much as they possibly can to accommodate the wishes of the residents, their family and their friends.
You are always made to feel welcome, whether you have gone to visit or are speaking on the phone. The way they have dealt with the pandemic has been heroic, remaining cheerful and friendly throughout.

Everyone at Waterside is cheerful and helpful both in person and on the phone. Each individual member of staff has developed a happy and jovial relationship with Dad. All of the staff are extremely caring and all work extremely hard. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I am always made to feel welcome. My mum is very well looked after, in a clean homely environment, it's like a home from home. The care is always very dignified. The knowledge, from all staff, of
dementia, is very apparent whilst my mum is cared for. A huge well done to each and every member of staff, you do an amazing job.

Mom is very well looked after and appears to be treated with affection by the staff. She is included in the many activities provided by the home and I believe she is being helped to live her best life possible at this stage of her life. When Mom has been ill, she has been supported by the staff to get
back to health in a very caring way. I feel content that she is in a safe and caring environment and this gives me peace of mind too. She enjoys the homemade food too and is better nourished than when she was self-caring.
The chaplain and the activities staff are second to none and I know that the support they give enhances the home experience and is invaluable to stimulate positive mental health. I appreciate the Christian ethos of the home and feel that this translates into good care for the residents. Thank you, everyone.

From the very first visit to Waterside House, I knew that my Mom would be happy there and that myself and our family would have peace of mind with Waterside House being Mom's new home. The amazing care, support and compassion that all the staff show towards my Mom and to all of her family is second
to none. I have witnessed all residents being treated equally and fairly at all times whilst visiting. There is always some activity or some sort of entertainment going on at Waterside House to suit everyone, including Sunday services. Waterside House is an extraordinarily clean and contemporary accommodation with lovely gardens and in a quiet location. I always find Mom and other residents very clean and well kept. I can't speak highly enough of Waterside House, its carers and its ethos.

My father was a resident until July 2020.
During the short time, he spent at Waterside he could not have had better care. He was always saying how safe he felt and how kind everyone was.
In his last few days, the staff and Vicar went over and above to ensure his end of life plan was just right whilst
never forgetting how we his children were feeling.
I couldn't have asked for anything better for Dad and would highly recommend MHA Waterside House to anyone who wants care for their loved one which is second to none.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.910)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.910) out of 10 for Waterside House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.910 for Waterside House is calculated as follows: ( (272 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 299 Ratings = 4.91
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Waterside House is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
