An awful situation to put your husband/best friend of 46 years in a home. I was treated with so much care, as was my husband. I have no complaints. All my queries are answered and acted upon with love and care.
The staff are all so well trained and caring, they speak every time they pass by and go the extra mile in all they do.
The success of the caring has come from the top.
This applies to all staff, cleaners etc.

An awful situation has been helped by so many acts of kindness and care.

I carried out proper research and visited a number of different care homes in our area and have been pleasantly surprised regarding my choice.

I feel that my mother is in really good caring hands.

The home is more than myself and my family could ever have asked for, in terms of care for my Mum. The staff can not do enough for her, and also for us when we visit. The patience, care provided and love is second to none, and a real testament to the home.

Even if I won the lottery and could afford the most expensive care facilities in the country, I wouldn't move Mum from somewhere so wonderful. I literally, as with my auntie, do not have a single worry about any aspect of the home.

I will be eternally grateful.

We have been extremely pleased with the changes that have been made to Holmer Court since the new manager has taken over. All of the staff are wonderful and it feels homely and happy. Nothing is too much trouble and the activities are really good. Thank you all.

My visits can be any time, any day. I feel the home is well run. All the staff is very approachable if I need to talk about anything about my sister's welfare. I have seen the staff take very good care when attending to the resident's needs. I have joined in with singing, entertainment several times. Residents really loving the church services, sewing, and quizzes. I feel the food is very good, they are well fed and plenty of drinks. Tea, coffee and biscuits always offered on visits.

My aunt got to the stage where she couldn't look after herself so I spent a day looking at care homes and Holmer Court stood out for me. The staff are all very caring, they have good food and keep me informed of everything, they are very friendly to myself and family when visiting and auntie is happy there, which is the most important thing.

Holmer Court is always welcoming. My mother is content there and appreciative of the good care she receives. She likes what she calls the family atmosphere and (unlike her boarding school days!) the fact that there are no bells or "roundups" at meal times or for getting up. I have only given the room "satisfactory" because, in my opinion, my mother could do with a bit more space to keep her belongings from looking cluttered. However, she does not complain about this.

Claire BoulterJob Title:Home Manager

When you hear people say “ I love my Job” I am actually one who “ really does love their job” I have been in the care industry for over 20 years and have met so many special people. Working in a residential care home is like being with my extended family and family is what we are all about. We are so lucky to build such special bonds with the people we care for, which extends to their families and friends. The compliment of a family member entrusting us to care for their loved ones is an absolute privilege and we honour this by striving to deliver the excellent care and support they so much deserve.

Becky Webber
Becky WebberJob Title:Wellbeing Coordinator Lead

Being a Wellbeing Lead is about the little things more than the big. The moments in the day when you feel you have made a difference in people’s lives. This might be a conversation where I am told: “You brighten up my day; you are a ray of sunshine; oh good, a pink lady; they are the ones who can do anything; I know I can tell you, as I trust you and you will help me; you know you are my favourite; I love you”.

It might just be a smile, a good morning where, for that moment, I am a face of comfort. I am a friend, and a family member different to each person but always a person they know and trust. A face of love and contentment that makes my job worthwhile.

The time and effort I put into getting to know each Resident individually so that I become familiar and loved.

Seeing a Resident do something unfamiliar to them, such as dance, sing, talk, walk, little milestones, rewards me for the input I put in.

It is not just a job; it is an extended family that includes the staff. They are my support bubble, and we are there for each other in the good times and bad. Building relationships with the families is also very rewarding, being the stopgap to be an ear for any concerns they may have and making them feel welcome into the home. We rally together in times of need and ultimately do our roles to achieve the best possible life for everyone.

I feel privileged to work at Holmer Court as a Carer. There is a lovely atmosphere and it is wonderful to work with the residents at home, it's like we are a family.

Sharon Matthews
Sharon MatthewsJob Title:Senior AdministratorJoined: 2016

I joined Holmer Court in 2016 as a part-time cook. After 12 months, with the support of our Manager Claire and my colleagues, I moved into a full-time role.

During that time, I got to know every resident personally, learning their likes, dislikes and unique personalities. The warmth and kindness at Holmer Court quickly made it feel like a second family.

I'm now, I'm a Senior Administrator, supporting multiple homes with administration, compliance and governance to help maintain the highest standards of care. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else. Being part of a team that provides such compassionate care to our residents makes me incredibly proud.
