Dad has been at "West Bank" since June 2020 after having a stroke. Unable to visit was hard - but seeing the regular videos on their website has helped - seeing residents laughing and enjoying keep fit and the music singalongs. Then came the "big 100th celebrations" with visits being limited "100 cards for Dad" was launched, cards from all over the world were received, (all the residents helped in opening the large sackful). A 'party was organised for Dad and residents - and the home 'buzzed' with excitement. A "family" (Covid safe) visit was arranged complete with balloons and a very lovely chocolate (Dad's favourite) cake. West Bank are "stars".

My sister has been a resident for over a year, and we have been most impressed by the patient way the staff have made her life comfortable. They have encouraged her to join in the activities, and we noticed a marked improvement in her general attitude. We are very pleased to be allowed to visit her regularly.

My mother has been living at West Bank for over a year now. Her care is excellent. She has complex needs and everyone is very kind and always treat Mum with respect and great dignity. I don't have to worry about Mum's care as I know she is well looked after. The food is great and she always tells me what lovely things she had to eat. Great team.

Mum was discharged from hospital to West Bank to recuperate prior to returning home. Following further issues, it became clear Mum required round the clock care and West Bank was her place of choice. Where possible, the staff have arranged for me to visit Mum and our conversations have confirmed that she is being well cared for. She has nothing but praise for the people looking after her and enjoys her meals, especially the puddings. Due to restrictions, I have not been able to see Mum’s room, however, I was encouraged to take in various familiar items to make it more personal to her. I have seen several video clips and photos of Mum on the West Bank Facebook pages where she is joining in the activities arranged and when it was her birthday the staff sang to her and made her feel special. On one occasion whilst sitting in the garden, I heard a staff member offering ice creams to the residents. Respect for each person was obvious as he called them by name and chatted about their choices.

After a fall at home and a hospital stay, my mum came to West Bank, Ross-on-Wye in July 2020. The care and kindness she has been shown have been second to none, and I would like to thank all the staff from the laundry, kitchen, carers and manager's collectively for the help and support she has received. Mum will be leaving in the next couple of days to return to Hereford to be nearer to her family, and only wishes she could take you all with her. It has been a difficult time for everyone due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, as a family we have had to adhere to the restrictions on visiting, but every effort was made to allow garden visits and video calls which have meant so much. We wish you all well for the future.

Friendly and caring staff who remain cheerful and welcoming on every visit, no matter how frequent. Respect and understanding of complex needs of those suffering from dementia. I'm grateful to all West Bank staff who maintain the dignity of residents in circumstances that, at times, must be challenging.

My fiance's mother has been in West Bank for a year. There is always a warm welcome, nothing is too much trouble. Residents are treated kindly and individual needs catered for. His mum is very happy, has gained weight and is always clean and smartly dressed. There is a happy atmosphere. As a retired carer myself (in Kent) I cannot fault it.

My mother is being cared for at West Bank. The family made this choice as we find the home very well maintained and the staff are very nice. We feel very confident knowing the home are giving her the best possible care.

They did a lovely Christmas meal for the residents and the home was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our thanks to the manager and her care team.

My mother was admitted in April/May 2018. She had care beforehand at home but dementia set in and she needed 24-hour care. She also had a spell at 2 different hospitals with urine infections which brought on the dementia very quickly.

West Bank has only been her home since May but she has settled in nicely.

My mother has been treated well since she arrived in the home. The staff are always pleasant and courteous and they treat the residents well and with kindness.
Due to poor memory, I have no real knowledge of how my mother enjoys the activities etc as she can't remember participating in them.
The home could probably benefit from updating in decor etc but it is comfortable and clean.

I am always free to visit at any time which I think is very commendable.

The vast majority of the care staff are excellent with all the residents but I feel more staff are required as often the residents need help but the staff are busy with another resident. Also, they have little time to spend with the residents other than to deal with their daily needs, so residents are rarely taken outside. The staff are always most helpful and polite to residents, visitors and each other it is a comfortable clean home and my mum is very happy there.

My aunt was in West Bank for over two years. During that time her personal care was excellent. She was clean, well cared for and always looked great. Her room was always spotless. At her end of life, the staff treated her with great compassion and tenderness. She always looked so comfy and clean. We cannot thank them enough.
