Anne and her staff at Chandos Lodge are amazing, the overall experience we have whenever we visit our friend is one of total care and love for the residents. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect and whats more they are totally inclusive in every activity, the emphasis is very much on activity
in a fun setting whether its mentally or physically stimulating its always great fun!
The rooms are always clean and tidy as are the lounges and dining room, the meals look fantastic and the safety of the residents is excellent.
Whenever we visit we are always made to feel welcome, its like being part of the family.
A big well done and congratulations to all at Chandos Lodge.

I absolutely love visiting my Nan here I am made to feel welcome and part of the Candos Lodge family with a cup of tea available and a friendly face and smile. I was initially petrified of the thought of my Nan going to a care home but the team has not let me down and been fabulous.

No complaints from me. My Mum is treated with respect and dignity. The staff are pleasant and friendly. It wasn't easy having to visit my Mum like she is, but Chandos Lodge made me feel so relieved that she is being well cared for.

Excellent care and staff are always happy. No restricted visiting times day or night which makes it easier for family and friends that have other responsibilities or commitments. The manager is always accessible and welcoming to residents' family and friends, she's very involved and joins in with daily
activities that residents are encouraged to join in with (or not ) this helps with mental stimulation, moments and communication. Large events are organised regularly that everyone is welcome to attend.
Residents are also encouraged to make their beautiful bedrooms feel like home from home. As a daughter, I feel that my mum is very safe and happy, when she was living at home on her own even with carers going in 4 times a day my brother and I thought we were going to lose her, but now she is at Chandos Lodge she looks fantastic and they have given us back years to spend with her.
Thank you everyone.

Could not choose a better home for my mom. Staff cannot do enough for the residents and their families. The place is beautiful and welcoming, and there is always an event organised for all the family. The staff go above and beyond for everything. They even made my mom's 80th birthday extra special with
banners and a homemade cake. Would 100% recommend it to family and friends.

I can not express how happy we all are with the outstanding care, dedication, support and joyfulness the management team and all the staff have brought to Mum. She's settled extremely well and her health and well-being has improved massively since she has been at Chandos Lodge. As a daughter, I feel
so relived and happy, I'm so glad Mum is here. Everyone is so lovely, it's like a home from home. 5-star! Thank you.

From the first phone call enquiry to Chandos Lodge, I realised that I was engaging with a caring, professional and welcoming home.
I can not fault the care my Mom has received during her stay at Chandos. The whole team work so well together, supportive of one another and generating a positive atmosphere
of warmth, friendliness and care.
The daily activities programme is fantastic - it is a joy to visit Mom and to see how she has been encouraged to get involved with all that's going on, from crafts to singing to even dancing. The recent Summer Fete is a great example of how Chandos Lodge 'goes the extra mile' to enhance the experiences for their residents.
I have been informed immediately of any concerns the staff have had with Mom's well-being. I feel confident that Mom is in the best place to meet her needs at this time of her life.

Since my Mother moved to Chandos Lodge, when I have visited the staff has always been welcoming, friendly, and polite. The care home residents are well looked after by the carers.
Residents enjoy a wide range of activities. I'm particularly impressed by both the care home managers and deputy manager
and their leadership of the staff team, setting high standards of care for the residents.

Care home is clean and tidy. Staff are always at hand and are very helpful and friendly. They always go that extra mile to help you. Activities that are available to residents are excellent and very thought through. When Mum first came we didn't think she would participate in anything but she seems
to really enjoy the activities and is very happy when joining in.
The food is outstanding, very fresh and good portion size. Food presentation is exceptional. When we visit I noticed all residents have a drink to hand no matter where they are in the home. Overall we are really pleased with the care and everything that Mum receives.

As my wife and I have been out of the country for the past 6 weeks I have been impressed with way Mum has been looked after by the staff at Chandos Lodge.
The Manager and Staff make sure that I am kept updated with any changes to Mum's diet, medication and general well being.
Whilst away we were able
to keep in touch with the staff and keep them updated on our trip which in turn and most importantly they passed onto Mum so she was aware of where we were on our travels 'Down Under'.
The staff are always very friendly and welcoming and we have seen first hand both before our trip and since returning from being abroad how well they look after and care for Mum. This is very important and reassuring to our family and for that we are extremely grateful.

As someone new to Hagley, I was very surprised and pleased with the atmosphere. At Chandos Lodge Care Home management and staff perform difficult tasks with certainty.
More toilet facilities, please. Sometimes the cleanliness of the toilet blocks could be better.

My mom has been in Chandos Lodge Care Home for just twelve months. During this time she has been very well cared for.
The staff are all very polite and friendly and, from my visits, I can see that they care for the residents and all go the extra mile.
There is plenty of activities for the residents
which they all seem to get involved in, which is lovely, my mom enjoys bingo now!
No complaints, a lovely care home and all their hard work is very much appreciated.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.799)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.799) out of 10 for Chandos Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.974 for Chandos Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (150 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 154 Ratings = 4.974
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chandos Lodge is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
