Best move we ever made! The care shown to my mum is second to none - she is healthier, happier and, although her dementia has deteriorated, who knows me again which means so much. The staff and manager are exceptional - food is amazing and fresh. The rooms are clean - no odours - and very comfortable.
I
do and have recommended this home and my friend's mother is now a resident and my friend's opinion is the same.

My wife has used the respite service in Bradbury Court. I cannot speak highly enough about the care that she received from the manager and her staff. She is a caring and compassionate person and this is reflected throughout the whole building, nothing is too much trouble and no effort is spared to make
everything comfortable. My wife has dementia and this is the only place that I know she is safe and secure outside her home.

My mother has been in Perrins House for just over a year and it is truly excellent and she is extremely happy. The care is first rate and staff are faultless. The food is served in a suitable way with plenty of choices. Numerous activities she does exercise classes, French, board games, concerts, has
her hair done. The staff are always welcoming when I visit. Nothing is too much trouble. Lunch was provided for 12 family members.

Bradbury Court provides a safe, caring, happy atmosphere. The staff are patient, good humoured and caring to the residents and always welcoming to visitors. They encourage residents to take part in activities, and they engage them in conversation. The rooms are kept clean and cheerful, and there
are safe, colourful outdoor areas. The residents always seem to be happy and confident and receive excellent care at all times.

This was one of my best decisions to come here (my own decision) because the care is extremely good. The staff are helpful in every way and very helpful with a really caring attitude. They are always there for us and take us to our medical appointments. I feel very secure here and in safe hands. This
is just like being at home. The food varies from good to dreadful. I would like a better quality and variety.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.694) out of 10 for Friends of the Elderly Malvern (Bradbury Court, Davenham and Perrins House) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.694 for Friends of the Elderly Malvern (Bradbury Court, Davenham and Perrins House) is calculated as follows: ( (213 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 281 Ratings = 4.694
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Friends of the Elderly Malvern (Bradbury Court, Davenham and Perrins House) is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 registered maximum number of service users is 19.4, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Jo Bennett

Job Title: General Manager

“I started my career working in the Motor Trade arena, in B2B (Business to Business) Customer Sales. My motivation to change careers and focus on care came from my loving Grandparents. My Nan lived with us for many years and was always there when I needed her. As Nan got older, as a family, we had first-hand experience of palliative care, which inspired me to pursue a healthcare career, so I too could ensure quality care for others.

I have now worked in the care industry for 16 years in a variety of roles across the sector. Most recently, I worked in regional operations for a number of large nursing homes.

My passion has always been to create a welcoming and inclusive community where people truly feel a sense of home. This belief directs me every day, and I am so proud to lead a team that holds our residents’ health, well-being and happiness at the heart of all we do.”
