Overall Experience
I visited my gran who was in the home for respite. She had a nice room which was ensuite and had a nice view of the hills.
She said she liked all the staff and they were all very friendly. Whenever they came to see my gran they always spoke in a caring manner and made sure she was ok.

I was there at lunchtime. I knew they have protected meal policy but it was the only time I could visit, so they found me a quiet area I could sit with my gran and talk without disturbing the other residents having their lunches.

I saw a poster that they had a singer in for the residents the week my gran was there and she said she had been asked if she wanted to join in with some activities but had declined as she just likes to read and watch TV.

The home was clean and tidy and I could see they have been having work done and it is much improved since my gran's last respite.

I had no concerns about the care that my gran receives at the home and have no worries about her coming back for more respite in the future.

Overall Experience

I visited the home in bad, snowy weather. The staff all seemed welcoming and had made an effort to make it in to work. One told me about her train journey.

The home was very warm and the rooms looked welcoming and personalised. My friend has been at Gold Hill some time but this is my first visit due to distance. I was pleased she said she liked it, particularly the food.
