Staff are caring and welcome. Visitors at any time, my mother who visits is made welcome and offered lunch and are made to feel part of the family. Outstanding work with a sometimes difficult client group.

Overall Experience

My mother had many difficulties due to the challenges of old-age and lived in Hastings for six years, in a well-decorated room, with space for possessions and some furniture. The standard of maintenance is high and there is a pleasant, cheerful atmosphere in community areas. Most important of all though, is the attentive professional attitudes shown by the staff and carers. My mother's daily needs were always attended to, and there was a genuine concern for her well-being. Respect and kindness were always evident. Our family will always be grateful that she was able to remain there during her final weeks, receiving warm compassionate care, ensuring that the most difficult of times were peaceful and dignified. This high standard of care for those facing their most vulnerable times, is a tribute to all the staff and carers.

Review from Yvonne Y (Cousin of Resident) published on 1 June 2016 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I was delighted to see my cousin happily settled in comfortable surroundings and attractive, welcoming gardens. The staff I encountered during my few days visits were all friendly, willing to help and treated the residents with affection and dignity. The meals were first-class and the lovely birthday cake - made on the premises - was enjoyed by all and much appreciated. A high standard of care and administration, well done Hastings!

Overall Experience
My mother and father were residents at Hastings for four years and three years respectively and the care they received was just wonderful. Every single one of the brilliant staff at Hastings gave my parents time, patience and expertise which made them (and us) feel valued and gave them a new lease of life. For ages mum and dad thought they were on an

all-inclusive package holiday. I, and my family are particularly grateful for the end of life care my parents both received. It was such a hard time for us but the support we received from all at Hastings was like having a loving family around. As long as I live I will ever able to thank them enough and I'll never forget them for the wonderful care they gave us all.

I truly feel honoured to be part of the residents' and their relatives' lives here at Hastings. I have over 25 years of experience in the care industry, covering a variety of roles. I have been a home manager for the last nine years, managing residential, respite, daycare and nursing services.

In my role as the home manager, I really enjoy interacting with the residents and getting to know each resident on an individual basis, so their care is so person-centred.
