With views of the Malvern Hills, Hastings is in a wonderful location, providing residential, dementia and respite care, which can be booked in advance.

Residents enjoy spacious, beautifully decorated bedrooms, which all have walk in, ensuite wet rooms.

The home has so many spaces to relax in, from the stunning Kennedy suite, to homely lounges and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious, home cooking, with freshly baked cakes served with afternoon tea.   

There is also a beautiful large woodland garden, with wheelchair-friendly pathways and mature trees, plus a landscaped garden.

The team are passionate about Sanctuary Care’s Enriching Lives framework, where they support residents to meet their six senses – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, security, significance and purpose.

There are so many other activities to enjoy, from animal visits and tai chi, to live music, news chats and reminiscence sessions. And with its own hairdressing salon, residents can enjoy appointments with the home’s mobile hairdresser.

The team at Hastings are passionate about keeping their residents connected with the local community. The home hosts weekly community coffee mornings, and you will often see young children and students popping in for a visit.

Family and friends are welcome at any time, and the home has its own private Facebook page, filled with photographs and videos of what the residents have been enjoying. And if relatives fancy a trip out with their loved ones, Hastings close to Great Malvern Priory, independent shops, restaurants and the Malvern Theatres.

Genuine care and affection for our mother was outstanding.
We were so happy that she spent her last period of time here. Staff are absolutely lovely. She also loved the food. Well done chef.

Daytime/evening staff are excellent; caring, supportive and extremely professional. Night staff have less time for those who are awake/alert during the night. Food is generally good and healthy. On occasion, the menu could be less "exotic" and more suitable to older folk. Spicy food can be unattractive
to the elderly and perhaps stews, casseroles, meat and veg would be more favoured by residents. Kitchen staff are excellent and will try to accommodate specific diets. The activities team do an excellent job. With diverse clients, it is hard to appeal to all. Some activities can be a little tedious for those with active minds. My parent particularly enjoys it when performers etc from outside come in and bingo is always popular. The rear garden is pleasant but could be more accessible/safe for those with limited mobility. The front garden seems to have been neglected recently. This is a shame.


In summary, the standard of care offered by Hastings is very good - the facilities could be better - the staff are excellent and are to be congratulated.

My cousin has been a resident at Hastings Care Home Malvern for about 15 months now and received excellent service throughout. The staff are fantastic and always willing to help in every respect. My cousin is a very settled resident. Thank you for the care she receives at all times.

Without exception, my parents have been treated with care, respect and kindness.
All the staff regardless of the principal duty are prepared to assist my parents.
Their principal carer whom we have the greatest confidence.
I am comforted by the fact that I am informed of any deterioration in their
condition or any other issues affecting my parent's health and care.

My father-in-law has advanced dementia and is frail. He is very well cared for and is finally settled in Hastings. My mother-in-law needs to be occupied at all times and the excellent activities together with management's help with external activities are very valuable and keep her fairly content. My
wife and I have peace of mind knowing that they are both being looked after so well.

Very helpful when initially arranging respite care and then following on from that full-time care. The care home itself is always clean and tidy in the communal areas and also residents rooms. There are lots of activities going on and I particularly like the fact that there is always a member of staff
interacting with the residents whenever you call in. Great newsletters and weekly timetables so you always know what is going on. I feel happy and confident that my mum is being looked after with dignity.

I think the home is in a nice position, facing the Malvern Hills. The staff are very caring and pleasant, the washing comes back very clean and ironed. If I ever have a problem, I mention it and it gets sorted, be it medical or care.

The staff at Hastings Residential Care Home were there for us all when we hit a crisis point with mum's care at home. Initially providing a respite room but now permanent care for mum. They have helped us through an extremely difficult and emotional time. I now know she is being looked after as well
as we would wish.

I first knew Hastings House visiting my old landlady. We made trips to Malven on the bus at first but in later years she became very noisy. If she went to sleep I went and talked to the others.
When she died at 101 after many happy years, they said "we won't see you again" I said "do you want to?"
and they said "yes." So I became a volunteer. Talking is one of the things I now need to do. I go home really wishing I was a resident.

When my mother was in a position of not managing in her own home I was upset as I didn't know what would happen to her. I rang Hastings Residential Care Home and it was agreed my mother could have a room there. After a short time, she decided she wanted to make it her permanent home as she really liked
the environment. She now looks and feels much better since being there permanently and I am happy for her to be there.

My friends (husband and wife) are residents here, both in their 90th year - they have been married for 57 years. In recent weeks, she has been very ill in hospital, reaching crisis point last weekend.
Understandably he was distraught, unable to easily get to see or communicate with her. The lovely
blonde receptionist, instantly understood what was needed and did, in my view, over and above what could be expected of her in taking him to visit his wife (in her own time) for which both he and I are extremely grateful. My friend is slowly recovering and will hopefully be "home" to Hastings again to where she will be cared for by her friends and her "family". Thank you so very much - how he would be got through last weekend without you is difficult to imagine.

My mother had many difficulties due to the challenges of old-age and lived in Hastings for six years, in a well-decorated room, with space for possessions and some furniture. The standard of maintenance is high and there is a pleasant, cheerful atmosphere in community areas. Most important of all though,
is the attentive professional attitudes shown by the staff and carers. My mother's daily needs were always attended to, and there was a genuine concern for her well-being. Respect and kindness were always evident. Our family will always be grateful that she was able to remain there during her final weeks, receiving warm compassionate care, ensuring that the most difficult of times were peaceful and dignified. This high standard of care for those facing their most vulnerable times, is a tribute to all the staff and carers.
