The Leys welcomes older residents with physical and mental health needs but not requiring nursing care. At the heart of The Leys' person-centred approach is a simple philosophy endorsed by all of the staff: to provide care the way that they would wish for their own relatives.

The Leys aims to provide care in an environment that looks and feels like a home away from home. They believe this is...

My grandmother spent nearly a decade at this exceptional care home, and it's impossible to express the depth of gratitude our family feels for the extraordinary care and love she received during her time there. The staff went above and beyond in every aspect of her care, providing not just personal care, but genuine warmth and companionship that brightened her days. Their commitment to her wellbeing undoubtedly prolonged her life and, more importantly, enriched it immeasurably. The team was not just professional but compassionate, treating her like family and ensuring she felt comfortable and cherished every single day. She was nearly 104 when she passed away and I am certain that she would not have reached this age in any other setting. We will forever be grateful for the immense love and dedication shown to my grandmother and would recommend The Leys for anyone looking for a care home for themselves or a relative.

This small and friendly home is everything I wanted for my mom and more! Every resident is part of "the family" and is treated as such. Each member of staff, from carers to housekeepers to management is kind, compassionate and loving. They are happy to give Mom the affection she craves and cope with the more challenging aspects of her behaviour with patience and consideration. Nothing is too much trouble. I could not recommend The Leys more highly, and its lovely building and fabulous gardens only add to the whole package.

My mom tells me on every visit how happy she is, and her smile only goes to confirm this. Thank you.

My father has been at the Leys for 20 months. The staff are excellent, and my father is treated with dignity. He has a good quality of life as he approaches his later days, and I would recommend this care home.

The Leys Care Home have provided the best possible care and support for my 96-year-old mother. The managers and staff are all excellent, the meals are well-balanced and enjoyable. They provide a variety of activities for the residents to take part in, which affords some physical and mental stimulation on a group and individual basis. The grounds are well looked after and offer the opportunity to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air and local wildlife. However, the inside is looking a little tired and dated and would benefit from redecoration/refurbishment.

My mum has dementia and moved to The Leys as she was no longer able to live at home by herself. All of the team there are so caring and passionate, creating a home from home environment. The care and support provided for my mum is excellent, despite her illness she is always smiling and happy. It is a huge relief for me to know my mum is being so well cared for.

My review starts from June 2019 to January 2023.

All in all, a very good care home, staff are caring and helpful. Mom's comfort and well-being were always paramount. The care given in her end-of-life situation was outstanding, both to my mother and myself. Very happy to have known all the staff there.

My mom has been a resident at The Leys since October 2021. The care she has had was and is exceptional; they treat her as if she is part of their own family. Recently, Mom had her 95th birthday there, and all the staff made sure Mom had the best birthday party, even taking some memorable photos and everyone joining in singing happy birthday. When I leave there, after a visit, it's great to know my mom is safe and sound 24/7. I just can't say enough about all the staff and the excellent food prepared by the chef. Well done. The Leys, top marks to you all.

We required urgent care for our friend at short notice. We had no hesitation in contacting the manager for assistance as we had previous experience of the care home. The managers went above and beyond to help and our friend was well looked after. Covid observations are followed before anyone can enter the home. All the staff are welcoming, kind and caring. It is a true home from home - clean, nice food, activities for those that wish to join in and total respect for residents with a more reserved personality, seeking peace and quiet. We would recommend this home and private fees are fair for self-funders.

My mother spent two years in The Leys and during this time, it was the happiest time of her recent life. The care and attention was excellent, the staff treated her with dignity, always providing the necessary help and friendship. I cannot think of any way The Leys could have looked after mom any better. It really is a caring home with caring people. Full marks.

My mother has been a resident at The Leys for a few years and we have always been very happy with the care she receives. The staff are wonderful and so thoughtful. As my mother's dementia worsens, the carers patience is tested more but they cope so well. My mother always says how much she loves being there.

I cannot speak highly enough about the care my mother-in-law receives at The Leys residential home. She has been there nearly 3 years and from the management down through all members of the staff, I cannot fault them. This year has been particularly difficult for us all not being able to have much contact, mainly through Facetime. The home is always clean and has proper home-cooked food. I would highly recommend this home to anyone thinking of putting their relative here. We have total confidence as a family. Thank you girls.

I was extremely impressed with The Leys cottage in all aspects. So was my dear old mum. Attention to care and her individual needs far exceeded my expectations. They cared for mum as if she was in her own home and never patronised her in any way. They took the time to show interest in mum as an individual and chatted to her about her past life. Mum always said she couldn't be in better hands! The home had a cosy homely feel to it. Also was always saying how lovely the food was. I can vouch for that as well as when mum was very poorly they gave me lunch as I stayed with her. Best ham, egg and chips l have ever had! The staff were so friendly and kind to me when mum passed away. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you one and all.

My mother is well cared for, clean and in clean clothes, sometimes not her own clothes! She is happy and content, although she is sometimes very vague and distant caused by her dementia. When I leave her, after a visit, I am happy to know that she is in good care and looked after well.
