I recognize this is a bit of a unique situation, although I would caution that many seniors experience difficulty initiating and receiving communication from family, which is why it is specified in the law.
My grandmother is very blessed to be at The Ferns. She has been there seven months and is settled and content. All the staff work very hard and are attentive to all the residents needs. The Ferns is comfortable and homely, the staff friendly and welcoming. I know my grandmother is well looked after at The Ferns. I know she is safe, this gives me great peace of mind. I am very grateful to The Ferns for giving my grandmother a high, standard of care and improved quality of life.

Grandmother has been at the Ferns since June 2025. Since being at the Ferns, her health and well being has greatly improved. Over time Grandmother has settled. The staff work very hard. They each deserve a medal! Management are very approachable, and always willing to discuss any issues. The food always looks and smells delicious!

At 92 mum even asked me to help her dance which we did. What a caring and stimulating place for mum to be. Thank you all.

My mother has been in the Ferns for about 4 months, and despite her initial worries, she is now settled and happy. The staff are amazing with nothing too much trouble, and the place is spotlessly clean. It feels more like a high-standard B&B rather than a care home. My mother loves the food too.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review.

Such a pleasant, friendly environment. Staff are always accommodating, my Nan is so well looked after there. Shes engaged daily with activities and encouraged to mix with the other residents making her time there happy and fulfilling. As a family we are all grateful for the excellent and individualised care she receives.
It's wonderful to know she is enjoying daily activities and being encouraged to mix with other residents-creating engagement and a sense of fulfilment is a big part of what we aim for.
The room was lovely and well laid out which was great. All of the staff were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The manager Julie was lovely and grandad adored her! It was lovely to be able to bring my daughter and dog to see him too! Its wonderful knowing he is being so well looked after.

The manager, manages The Ferns so well, always ready to listen, help, advise and put in action. My dad has been at The Ferns from Oct 24 and still lives here. The staff always welcoming, cleanliness second to none, food really is outstanding. Every room is clean, tidy and enviting. Staff are smartly dressed, professional and welcoming. Dad is deteriorating in health and mental state, alterations are made to adhere to his every need. He is so happy at The Ferns.
It means a great deal to hear your appreciation for our manager and team. Listening, supporting, and acting promptly are central to how we care, and were so pleased this has been...

My wife has had a very stressful 6 months 1st month in hospital 5 times with various problems I felt they could have done more for her. On entering the Ferns she was under weight not much confidence and couldn't hold any sort of conversation I feel now 5 months later she chats to people joins in the activities who one member of staff, in particular, looks in my view she is brilliant and very helpful I found. Most of the carers try and give her a lot of time, I feel with the staff they love what they do very well unlike the hospital staff
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about The Ferns. We are truly sorry to hear about the difficult time your wife had before coming to us, but we are delighted to know that she is now feeling more confident, enjoying conversations, and taking part...
The communication between the home and myself is poor, despite events affecting my loved one. There are too few experienced carers and too many who don't have a clue. This care home is not a patch on the previous owner's management of it. It needs to improve (care, not appearance!)
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that you feel communication hasn't met your expectations. Please know that we genuinely care about your experience and your relative's wellbeing. Our team has made several efforts to arrange a meeting with you, as we...
My uncle has been at The Ferns Care Home for the last 5 weeks. He has been made to feel welcome and is helped with all his care needs. He feels much happier and safer in the homes environment. The staff are all very patient and friendly and attentive to his needs.
Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it. We are so pleased that your Uncle has enjoyed his first few weeks at The Ferns. I will pass your kind words on to the care team.
Thank you to each and every one of you at the Ferns for making my mum and my family feel part of your little community.
Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it. I am so glad that you all feel part of our community!
My mother arrived as a temporary resident and has now recently become permanent. The home has moved her room to be more comfortable due to her lack of mobility and secured a specific bed to aid her. The manager of the facility put the bed together themselves after a delay from the manufacturer. The care has been outstanding and the whole experience excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff go above and beyond.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - we really appreciate it!
Such a lovely care home, all the staff are friendly, always happy and enjoy doing there job. They get on well with my grandad and he seems very happy and settled here, he gets all his care needs met and I'm comfortable knowing he's happy and safe here at the ferns care home. This is a lovely sized care home with 2 lovely living rooms with a great variety of activities that take place daily as well as a beautiful garden space outside.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review - we really appreciate it!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for The Ferns, we really appreciate it!
In my father's own words this is 'a real home from home'. That really says it all. I live abroad and can only visit my father every two months but I know he is getting all the care and support he needs. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and efficient and really care. Even though I'm far away, I know that my father is in the best hands and is safe and cared for properly.
Thank you very much for your kind words, we really appreciate it!
The family is very happy with the care Mum is receiving. She is treated very kindly by all the staff and carers who look after her, and she is very happy and settled here. We would like her room to be improved, and understand that it is at the planning stage at the moment. With thanks for the consideration and care she has received so far!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it. We have started the renovation at The Ferns and I hope you like the areas that we have done so far. We aim to complete all of the renovation works, including bedrooms by the end of 2025.
In his time at The Ferns the care given to Dad was excellent and I had no qualms about leaving him in their excellent care.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate it!
