Dad was admitted to the home in September 2022. This decision was very hard for both my brother and myself but the staff were amazing to help settle him. During Dad’s time at the home, he was loved and cared for by all the staff. He did engage whilst he could with the array of activities that were organised for the patients with the staff going above and beyond to create memories and add these to their social media page. Dad’s condition deteriorated and he was fortunate to be able to spend his last weeks at the home with the love and care of the staff. The staff were amazing and clearly obvious that they thought a lot about Dad. We are so grateful for the love and support shown to us as a family on his passing and we certainly couldn’t have asked for better care. Many thanks to you all.
Really cannot thank all the staff enough for taking care of my nan while she resided at Vitality Care Homes (Brookside) Care Home. Thank you so much.
My mother-in-law was in this home for just over twelve months. Myself and my husband were extremely satisfied with the care she was given during this time. The staff were caring, loving, attentive and very professional to Mother-in-law's needs during her time there. The treatment we received as a family during her passing in January was just amazing. We are very grateful to all members of staff for the professional but sympathetic and caring way they also looked after all of us as well as my mother-in-law. Many thanks.
My nan was at Brookside for just over 12 months. Her time at the home was her last 12 months with us. Brookside cared for my nan to an extremely high standard. They were amazing carers and the activities that were put on in the lounge were brilliant and entertaining. Thank you so much for caring for my nan.
Brookside Care home has given such excellent care and support to my dad, who had dementia. All his needs were attended to so thoughtfully by all the staff and management and without any hesitation to ensure he was comfortable and relaxed. The care and daily activities are second to none. The family couldn't have wished for any more personal and friendly care.
Brookside Care Home are amazing. They have looked after my dad, who has dementia, for a couple of months now and are very patient and caring with him. The home is always clean and well kept and there are different activities on the go all the time, with the staff encouraging everyone to take part. All the staff and management are helpful and very caring and nothing is too much trouble.
Although Mom didn’t manage to spend too much time within your care, I truly appreciate the care, compassion, and empathy shown to both Mom and to us, as a family. Nothing was too much trouble and the resident's needs were a priority. I highly recommend this care facility, genuinely caring carers, led by a professional management team.
We chose Vitality Care Homes (Brookside) for my mom who suffers from dementia based on a friend's recommendation. During her short stay, mom was looked after extremely well by friendly, caring and compassionate staff. The team always going the extra mile to make sure mom felt safe and comfortable, nothing was too much trouble. As a family, we also received excellent support and feedback on a daily basis, regarding mom's needs and progress. Unfortunately, mom has now had to transfer to a nursing home, but we would strongly recommend Brookside, to anyone looking for a family-type environment for their loved one.
My mother moved into Vitality Care Homes (Brookside) with Alzheimer’s and the staff were very caring and considerate. My mother made some new friends and the staff shared footage of her dancing on a regular basis. I highly recommend Brookside and the whole team.
We were happy with the looking after and care you have given mum. She was well looked after, her room was comfortable and bright with nice views over the marshes. Meals were basic but okay. I think mum felt safe and secure, it was a shame she didn't join in much with the activities so really cannot say anything about that.
My father-in-law was moved to Brookside nearly two years ago, due to dementia and constantly falling over. We found the home to be perfect for him, he could join in with other people in the lounge and mix with people. The staff are great, so friendly and helpful. My husband and I feel so much happier, knowing he's constantly cared for 24/7. No complaint at all.
I can't express how thoughtful and caring everyone at Brookside care home is. Nothing is too much trouble, staff go of out their way to help residents and relatives with any issues. I can honestly say the manager helped and supported me with a lot of things, regarding my uncle. She built up a lovely friendship with him and he was always having a chat and cuppa with her in the office. I've no choice but to move him to a nursing home now, as his health issues needed nursing care. I would strongly recommend anyone to go to Brookside. It is so friendly and a quiet family set up. I can't praise the staff enough.
A place at Brookside was found for my mother-in-law a few weeks ago and I cannot praise the care home enough. Myself and my husband are so impressed by the care provided, the manager and his staff have been in regular contact with us, updating us with her care plan and how my mother-in-law has settled in. Food is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend it.
Housekeeping is always immaculate.
The most wonderful caring professional staff.
Fantastic home-cooked food with a wide variety.
Different fun and games every day.
Interactive care doctors are so beneficial to know about Mum day and night.
Mum is so settled and happy.
Brookside care home focuses on the most important thing there is and that’s care. There are many very nice looking care homes around but in my experience, that’s all they are “nice looking”. My mother has been a resident here for 5 years and throughout her time, without exception, the staff and management have looked after my mother with dignity, respect and above all else, care. We are so grateful to Brookside for everything they do in making my mother so happy and contented.
Very pleased with the level of care given at Brookside towards my Nan, as she can be very difficult at times, but this has never affected the level of care provided. They always go above and beyond, make sure I'm updated with anything that goes on with my Nan, and contact me if anything is needed for my Nan, or if I can offer any advice to improve the level of care towards my Nan. This leaves me very confident that she is being looked after to the best of their abilities. The care home manager is a fountain of knowledge and helped us extensively when we were after moving my Nan to Brookside, and even still to this day. I can't thank the management, carers, and all the staff enough for what they have gone through during the pandemic, and how well they continue to handle it. I honestly couldn't recommend a better care home. Thank you.
Brookside care home looked after my mum for the last 14 months. I can’t fault the Care home for their exceptional care for my mother. All the staff were caring, compassionate and helpful. The manager went above and beyond with any queries I had. My mum always seemed settled and happy during this period.
Brookside is a lovely home and my friend is very happy to be living there. The home is very clean, the manager is approachable and any problems are dealt with straight away. We are very happy and could not recommend it enough.
My aunt has been at Brookside for just over five years now and we choose the home because it was small and friendly. My aunt also wanted to be near her friends and family, she has made some lovely friends also while being at Brookside. The staff are caring and nothing is too much trouble. It’s been a really tough twelve months for everyone with Covid, but the management and staff have worked really hard to keep everyone as safe as possible. Always smiling, even when the days were tough, having to leave their families, not knowing what was going to happen next. So well done all, for all your hard work.
Brookside is a lovely home and everyone is friendly and helpful. The manager is always friendly and approachable - nothing is too much and the home is clean and well decorated. Over the last year, they have supported my friend and myself with contact. I would like to say thank you to all at Brookside.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
- Outstanding - The service is performing exceptionally well.
- Good - The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
- Requires Improvement - The service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
- Inadequate - The service is performing badly and we've taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.
- Not rated - we have not yet rated this area of the service, this is normally because the assessments we have carried out have been focused on other key questions.
Brookside Care Home was inspected by CQC in December 2023. The report shows lots of good practice and remained good across three key areas: effective, caring and responsive. However, it is also clear that there is work to be done to address concerns relating to care planning and leadership. We are committed to addressing the concerns raised and have put together wide-ranging action plans. We are pleased to confirm that the following changes have taken place in recent months: New care planning system: We have implemented a new digital care planning system. New management: We are pleased to have welcomed a new manager to the team. Lydia brings more than 15 years of experience of working in care. Refurbishment works: We have recently done a lot of work to update Brookside. The result is more modern, comfortable surroundings with additional facilities.
