Brookside Residential Care Home specialise in providing person-centred care of the elderly and those living with Dementia.

This beautiful care home features stunning views to the rear, of the large garden and overlooking the nature reserve. There is a conservatory for residents to relax and enjoy this lovely outlook.

There is a selection of comfortable bedrooms, majority of which are single with en-suites.

The attractive dining room offers a tempting, and varied menu of home cooked food, freshly prepared from local produce where possible. Individual tastes and special diets are catered for.

Highly trained staff are on call 24 hours a day, most of whom have or are working towards a recognised NVQ qualification.

The care my mother receives at Brookside is excellent. The carers go out of their way to assist the residents, whilst maintaining as much independence as possible. The catering staff always try to fulfil dietary requests. The new management is improving the environment and offer support and advice to
family members.

My father is in Brookside’s care. I have to say that the staff are so kind and very friendly and so approachable. I’m so happy that my father is in their care. The chef's apple crumble was soooo delicious. Thank you to the chef!

I came her Friday I have been so impressed everyone has been amazing so kind os helpful so friendly it is a stunning place immaculately clean so bit with beautiful rooms and bathrooms a stunning gardens the meals are delicious with such a lovely variety I was told it was beautiful but I didn't realise
it would be so beautiful and I am so lucky to be here.

My stepmother moved to Brookside in March 2018 before the change of ownership, and we had a good feeling about it straight away. Consequently on hearing of a change of ownership we were initially a little unsettled. However, we need not have been concerned as things are even better now.


The staff

and management are excellent in respect of the quality of care, but also they are friendly and approachable. Brookside demonstrates a philosophy of treating each resident as an individual and ensuring the relationship suits individual personalities and needs.


My stepmother recently celebrated her 100th Birthday. Staff and management organised a fabulous party at their expense with a buffet, a singer, games and entertainment. Staff went in on their day off the day before to decorate and on the day to serve food and celebrate her Birthday. The whole day was thoroughly enjoyable for all residents and guests.

From the moment Mum entered Brookside, as a family, we knew she was in the right care home, she was very unwell on arrival, but the wonderful care she, she soon improved and for 4 years she was so happy, then her frailty took over and depended on the carers more, as she was unable to completely look
after herself. The carers loved Mum as though she was their own Mum. Mum was in Brookside for 6 years and I never hear her complain at all. She always said they are so good to me. The family thank the staff at Brookside very much!!

Brookside Care Home was inspected by CQC in December 2023. The report shows lots of good practice and remained good across three key areas: effective, caring and responsive. However, it is also clear that there is work to be done to address concerns relating to care planning and leadership.

We are committed to addressing the concerns raised and have put together wide-ranging action plans. We are pleased to confirm that the following changes have taken place in recent months:

New care planning system: We have implemented a new digital care planning system.

New management: We are pleased to have welcomed a new manager to the team. Lydia brings more than 15 years of experience of working in care.

Refurbishment works: We have recently done a lot of work to update Brookside. The result is more modern, comfortable surroundings with additional facilities.
