Doddlespool Hall Care Home

Doddlespool aspires to provide a safe environment, with an emphasis on personal care. This is achieved at an acceptable level, however, unless a cohort of staff are retained that are suitable, trained in caring for people with dementia moving forwards, this will be unachievable.

Unfortunately, her ensuite toilet did not flush. She had previously reported this and it was rectified but failed again on my visit.

Doddlespool Hall Care Home is a well run care home, and is a good, safe and comfortable place for my wife. The staff are caring and considerate at all times.

I am happy and enjoy the company every day. I have made new friends.

I am unable to comment on some aspects eg, food as I am not a service user. However, I know that my cousin, who is a resident, is very happy at Doddlespool. Most aspects of Doddlespool have improved since the manager arrived. We would like our relative to be encouraged to do more for herself and to move more but I think they do try.

Doddlespool Hall excellent care and the facilities are 5 star. We are very satisfied with our mother's care. Excellent home-cooked food. Excellent staff. Always attending to patient's needs.

The home is excellent. They have been fantastic to me and looked after my parents very well. They have helped me through a difficult time and have been professional throughout. The staff are amazing and the care and empathy they have for residents is first class. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

The home is making improvements all the time and the refurbishment of the main rooms is excellent. My mum's bedroom is very tired looking but hopefully, that will be refurbished soon.

Very friendly staff, excellent food prepared and presented for residents and families if they wish to stay with family during meal times. Activity co-ordinator spends quality time with residents making craft items and discussing present and past events. Staff are very approachable and helpful. Rooms are decorated and presented to a high standard. Care plans are set and discussed with families. Clothes are kept pristine and washed and ironed to a high standard.

When I visit my Grandma the home has a lovely atmosphere the staff are always helpful and considerate.

When visiting there is a lovely atmosphere and residents always look well cared for and the staff always approachable and willing to help.

I enjoy living here, they help me with everything and I like eating the meals.

This care home is well run overall. Staff are very caring of residents and welcoming of relatives and other visitors.

The ongoing renovation of the home is transforming the physical surroundings to a really good standard. The changes to the various rooms are in keeping with the original style of the building, whilst at the same time bringing the facilities into the 21st century.

The introduction of daily activities in the afternoon means that residents are stimulated and occupied in a meaningful and productive manner.

All in all, since the new owners took over this care home, there have been marked improvements in all areas.

My husband and I are extremely happy with the care that my mother-in-law is receiving. All staff from the carers to the cooks and the cleaning staff and the management make her feel at home. They are all there for her every need. Knowing my mother-in-law is happy in her home from home is a comfort to us.
