My Husband became a resident 12 months ago after being looked after at home for 12 years by myself, without the care, understanding and all round support from all staff I am sure my husband would not be with me now. Its a lovely, welcoming and comfortable home. Extremely clean and the food is good. Plenty of activities take place which everyone seems to enjoy, plus trips out for the more mobile residents.

Dear Margaret,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a touching and heartfelt review. We know that after caring for your husband at home for 12 years, making the decision to move him into residential care must have been a profound transition for you both. It is an absolute privilege...

My Mum has been a self funding resident here since having a stroke over 2 years ago. The care staff are kind and supportive and the activities are commendable, The home is well equipped, nicely furnished and kept clean and tidy. We are confident Mum is safe and well cared for a Bracebridge Court.

Mum moved in to Bracebridge in July and the manager was amazing she made the transition so smoothly for us both ,mum has settled in well the staff are very friendly and kind and nothing seems to be to much trouble for them ,they will do anything for mum,the place is very clean and Mums room is cleaned daily. The food is of good quality and I like that they have 2 choices and they always seem to be having cups of tea which is good. Overall I am very very pleased the way Bracebridge is being run and the standard of care my mum is receiving long may it continued.

Very poor staff level, lots of agency staff. Resident left in bed in dark with curtains closed and left asleep, was there for 9 months and staff rarely showered her, it. was left to the family to tend to her hygiene. Room was dirty, dust under bed, debris behind moveable furniture and floor sticky. Bedding could be soiled and no attempt to change it. Was always told she didn't want to get up, didn't want a wash, didn't want anything. Truth was, easy to leave her and shut the door with cold cups of tea or coffee and dirty tray, full jug of water with no encouragement to drink. Treated with little respect. Room was facing long noisy corridor with constant disturbance. No encouragement for social activity or use of dining room, consequently we feel she shrunk back and began to reject life. Her medical needs were not properly carried out, and regular non diabetic food was served. Although she did enjoy the food which was of a good standard. Her care seriously declined over her stay.

Mum has vascular dementia and severely arthritic hands so finds some/many recreational activities difficult. A highlight in December was the 'old timer choir' performance in another town. Several support teams from the groups homes combined to perform in the town and acheived entry into the guiness book of records - minimum age of 92!

My mum is very well cared for despite the difficulties she has. All the staff are helpful and friendly and will respond to any issues I have promptly. My mum cannot join in with the activities provided but I can see there is a lot of entertainment and stimulation provided for the other residents, who always seem to enjoy and join in the fun. Activities outside the home are also good and mum has managed to enjoy visits for meals out and the Butterfly farm. I feel reassured that my mum is in the best place for her and know I can rely on high quality care.

We have nothing but thanks and praise for Bracebridge court. My auntie was only with them 10months but had exceptional and outstanding care. Even though she had dementia she requested to go in this care home living in Atherstone all her life she knew how good it was.

All of the staff are so pleasant and caring I recall one Saturday afternoon one of the carers announced Sunday lunch would be beef and all the trimmings which got a great response .Also the manager and another member of staff in particular were so helpful and went above and beyond to help my dad who also is elderly to make the situation as straightforward and helping my auntie stay where she was happy and contented. Many thanks .

Brilliant care and attention from the carers. Dad needs help as he has Parkinson's and nothing was too much trouble. Made us feel relaxed and was able to cope. Thank you so much.

My mother was in Bracebridge Court for twelve days respite.
Her overall experience was very good and she enjoyed her time there. She was well looked after and the food was very good. She particularly enjoyed the activities which stimulated her as she spends long periods alone at home. When outside, attention was paid to the residents with hats, suncream and refreshments.

Thank you Bracebridge for making Mum's stay enjoyable.

When coming in, it is very clean and the staff are always welcoming to me. The home does always smell nice. The staff always go the extra mile when it is birthdays and anniversaries, they always invite me for a meal and I spend time with my husband, making memories.
