Bracebridge Court was recommended to us by our GP and we are so pleased with the home. Dad was very nervous but has quickly made friends and settled, which makes the family feel at ease. They go above and beyond to make us welcome and we already feel like part of the Bracebridge family. Dad's room is lovely and spacious and the place is spotless.

Reply from Debra Adams, Home Manager at Bracebridge Court

Good morning. Thanks so much for the review. We are grateful to hear how satisfied you are with your father's transition to our care and the friends he has made. Our team always seeks to provide the best possible care and we appreciate your positive feedback.

My dad recently celebrated his 90th birthday which is a huge milestone. Due to his health, my family in the UK were unable to take him out of the care home but made arrangements directly with the care home management to make his day really special. They did not disappoint! They went out of their way to decorate the room for him and were happy to accommodate my request to Zoom in (I am in New Zealand and it was important to me to be part of his day even though I couldn't be there). The staff have always been so obliging and happy to help, they are very approachable and understanding of my father's needs. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

It is difficult to rate things like facilities, cleanliness, activities, etc. as I have never visited (Dad became a resident in March 2020) but I have had no complaints!

My father suffers from dementia. The management and staff treat him with respect and as an individual. He is encouraged to be a useful member of the homes community. He is content and feels safe; he appears happy with his world. I find everyone at Bracebridge to be helpful, thoughtful and caring as well as efficient.

Placing my mum in a care home was such a huge decision for us during lockdown and wasn’t easy. I feel the home works hard to ensure we can keep in touch as much as we wish. Mum loves the food and her room. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Our uncle was in your care for just over 12 months in that time he settled extremely well and we knew he was in safe hands.

He had lived alone for 6 years and was not very sociable before he joined you, so we had reservations about how he would cope with a care home environment. We did not need to worry. During Covid, you made a great effort to get all the care into place that he needed.

My auntie has been at Bracebridge Court for two years since my uncle (her main carer) died suddenly and there is nowhere else I would rather her be. I dread to think what would have happened to her if she had been left at home, especially during the pandemic. Everyone here has worked so hard to keep everyone safe and happy.

Just visited my mum face to face for the 1st time in months. It was an exceptional welcome by the staff with chocolates, welcome back poster's, greetings and laughter. I was very impressed with the PPE and lateral flow testing. Made meeting Mum even more special. Staff have copied admirable throughout this awful crisis; well done, and thank you.

My only negative comment would be; the group should consider employing staff specifically for the day to day testing of residents and visitors, PPE distribution. The day to day management by a specific individual(s) would free up the existing staff to carry out the normal jobs that they are employed to do. Whilst carrying out these additional duties, residents do not benefit from their employment role.

Dad became a resident in the home in November 2020 and despite the difficulties the virus has presented, from day one the staff have been excellent. Communication has been really good and they have welcomed window and pod visits along with Skype and telephone calls which have been a great comfort to the family during these times. Dad is very content and is clearly very well looked after. The home is modern and very clean, I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My mum moved into Bracebridge Court at the beginning of lockdown, I have nothing but admiration for how the staff and management have handled the situation. We are given so many opportunities to call, video call and window visit which not ideal in the winter is better than nothing. The manager updates us with an email weekly, also always at the end of the phone and always appears to have the time to listen to my concerns. Mum appears to have settled and says the food is 5 star. She says her room is very clean and tidy and the staff are kind and caring which is all I can ask for. I can't wait to be able to go in and see it all for myself as it appears to be a very friendly place to be.

During the current Covid pandemic, Dad has been looked after by Deb and her fantastic team. I know we all get a little disturbed by these events but the home has been great in keeping the residents safe and well. Words fail me at times and thank you seems such a small reward but my thanks and those of us that love Dad is genuine. If you have a relative that needs care, have no fear this home is just what it says a "home" so rest assured your loved one will be looked after by this dedicated team.

Having never had any personal experience of a care home, I was anxious and worried about what this meant for my relative living in one. I should not have worried as this care home and its staff are remarkable. My mind was soon at rest. It’s plain to see that the staff care about their residents and their relatives. They appreciate the emotional strain it puts on families and do all they can to ease any worries. The staff endeavour to give each resident what they need and clearly understand the difficulties that each person has. Regular family Zoom meetings with the manager and regularly updated emails keep everyone informed of what is happening particularly during this time with Covid19. This care home has a great team working within it and I am so glad that we chose it for our family member.
