All care homes would say that in current times particularly with Covid lockdowns, resources are under stress. Nevertheless, I can report that Homewood, Leamington by and large came through these trying times with flying colours. One had the sense that at all levels of management and staff people had
genuine concern and support for my mother. If we had any issues they were normally resolved pretty quickly. I would go further to say that I would regard their employees as friends. My mother was generally appreciative too despite the fact that she could be a little difficult at the end. The staff were still understanding and supportive. The whole process has given me a better understanding of the care sector and the fine efforts made by people within it, who are often under real pressure.

Overall very satisfactory. Positives include care and affection from staff at the end. Negatives would be some agency staff not as helpful as permanents, and the food was sometimes disappointing. However allowance is given for the difficulties in operating during a Covid pandemic.
I would like to emphasise
the affection, love and dignity in the last few weeks exceeded what we could have hoped for.

My late mother was at MHA Homewood for two and a half years. During this time she received the highest level of care and compassion from the staff and at the end of her life was treated with respect and dignity. I would thoroughly recommend Homewood for the caring staff and lovely welcoming atmosphere.

My late mother was a resident of MHA Homewood for over 6 years. She was treated with dignity and respect, received excellent care and appreciated the many activities organised by the home. The care my mother received at her end of life was exceptional. MHA as an organisation navigated the pandemic well.
I would not hesitate to recommend Homewood.

My Godmother was in Homewood until late, I cant commend the staff team enough for their care and compassion. The management are empathetic and run the home to its optimum, collectively they all deserve a medal for their work especially over the testing 2 years.

I booked into Homewood on Thursday 30th December and was welcomed by a friendly care worker and given tea and biscuits. I was immediately struck by how clean and orderly the whole home was. This good initial impression being confirmed on being presented with a most comfortable room. Having now been
here for a week, I can truthfully say that the care and kindness I have received from all the staff has been exemplary. As someone who is recovering from severe clinical depression, I could not have found a better venue for respite care/.

My late mother received excellent care during the five and a half years she spent at Homewood. She settled in so well because of the friendly and supportive staff. She enjoyed the full and varied programme of activities immensely. She also very much appreciated the spiritual support provided by the
two successive chaplains she got to know so well. In the last few weeks of my mother’s life, the family were particularly impressed with the consideration, kindness, love and care expressed by the staff.

I am providing this based on admission and first ten days of stay; whilst both in-laws are in covid quarantine so some parts of the review are unknown as yet.
The staff are very attentive, helpful and caring towards visitors, family and the residents themselves and do everything to make the stay as
relaxing and rewarding as possible. They have already organised local occupational therapist, optician and medical support, and are happy to help however possible.
The place itself is clean and on admission were happy to work with us to get the right chairs, setup and cosiness for the in-laws which meant they felt immediately home from home. The 4G signal is not the best but that is not the home's fault, but there are ways to resolve this which they worked with us on.
First impressions are very positive.

My wife became a resident 2 years ago when I went abroad for two weeks. Then her experience was so positive for that fortnight that when she needed to be cared for permanently, her family and I decided on Homewood. She has been in since the end of July 2020. During this time her physical condition and
confusion has deteriorated. She has had some falls and broken bones and is now bedridden. I see her daily and am very pleased with the care she receives.

Mum has been a resident at Homewood since August 2020. My opinion of Homewood is that it is a well-managed care home that endeavours to put the needs of each individual resident at the centre of the daily running of the home. All the staff interact in a meaningful way with residents. The rooms are comfortable
and well decorated. During the covid crisis, the home has managed to balance the conflicting needs of keeping residents safe with the benefits of keeping in contact with relatives by a variety of means.

My experience was very good considering the lockdown rules. My mum had a long telephone call prior to her admission asking all her needs, times of meals, food, showering which made her feel comfortable. I was able to bring her belongings before admission which made it less stressful for my mum.
All
the staff were very friendly, helpful and happy.
On the day of admission, they greeted her at the door which made her feel welcome. As she had to be in isolation for 2 weeks her television was instantly set up and her radio which was important. I have spoken to her she tells me the food is good, everyone is nice and she is now out doing activities. My mum seems very happy there. Thank you.

Mum went to Homewood in September 2018 until she passed away in May this year. The carers are exceptional and really looked after and understood Mum's needs and could usually make her smile. The activities and entertainment are really good and she took advantage of these most of the time. Unfortunately,
following Covid, she returned to the home for palliative care and it was so reassuring to know that she was in such good hands and that they really cared - we are very grateful for the support they gave to us as well at this awful time.

All the staff I have so far had the experience of 'have gone the extra mile' to provide a level of service at least equal to that of a good hotel, together with empathy with residents far greater than appropriate.

My mother was diagnosed with Covid-19 in May and was looked after in a caring and very professional manner. I have high praise for all the staff who have worked so hard and brought her through it. I was able to visit her this week (17th June) in the garden, which was wonderful and great to see her looking
happy and content. Thank you to all.

When the time came both my husband and I needed to sell our house as we required extra care I immediately thought of MHA as I'd visited the previous home and was impressed when the doctor in hospital suggested MHA I could have hugged him! and to think they actually got rooms.

We had to relocate our aunt from abroad following a bereavement. She was desperately upset at having to leave her home and memories but from the outset, the staff at Homewood have been wonderful. They helped her to settle, feel welcome and become part of the Homewood community.
We have been very impressed
with how they have continued to care during this difficult time, they have been professional but have taken the time to give a personal touch so that she hasn’t felt too isolated during lockdown.
Our aunt thanks us regularly for finding Homewood for her and we would happily choose it again if the need arose.

My mother has been a resident at Homewood since September 2019. The Home has many positives, an excellent location, spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and lovely rooms. There is a tranquil and attractive garden and the communal areas offer a nice variety of options depending on what people want
to do. Good nutrition is clearly important and the food is excellent. The staff are all very caring, clearly well trained and highly motivated to do the best for all residents. The home runs a varied and full activities programme and outings, which even less able people (like my mother) were welcome and supported to attend. The quality of the staff was one of the main reasons Mum and I chose this home for her. This quality has been very apparent during the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff have kept cheerful and positive despite what must have been very difficult circumstances. It was nice to see that their employer clearly cares about them too as they had PPE. I would highly recommend Homewood.

Homewood has been absolutely brilliant since lockdown. We have been able to speak to mum, via the internet, every weekday. A particular member of staff has done a brilliant job setting this up and supporting mum when she has needed help understanding what is being said. We have been able to complete
a crossword or puzzle with mum every weekday. Mum looks as well now as she did at the beginning of lockdown. Homewood has just started well-supervised half-hour visits in the garden for one relative.
Mum has been a resident at the home for 6 years. She can still get around using her Zimmer and, thanks to a comprehensive programme of social activities prior to lockdown and regular online interaction during it, she has been able to keep mentally active. If we have ever had any concerns, Homewood has listened carefully and resolved the issue. A very big thank you to all the staff for their hard work, especially during the pandemic. I would not hesitate to recommend Homewood.
