The home was excellent value for money.
The care was good and the care staff very kind and treated mother with dignity.
The management always tried to sort out any little niggles.
Also, there was good continuity of staff as the home seemed to keep their staff for quite a long time, and had a policy of not using agency staff.

This was good as mother got to know them, and they got to know her and her likes and dislikes.

Have been involved with the home for 20 years as a visitor volunteer and also having had Power of Attorney for a resident and have found:-
1. Helpful, friendly and caring attitude of the staff.
2. Fresh atmosphere - no stale, unpleasant smells.
3. Residents not sitting around walls - numerous activities both group and individual and entertainment and visits.

4. Considerable importance on spiritual aspect for all denominations - a Methodist Home not a Home for Methodists.

The home is well presented, clean and fresh smelling.
Not greeted by the sound of a loud TV in a common room or the sight of unstimulated residents not watching the TV.
Rooms are a good size all are ensuite.

Warm atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff.

I like the fact that there is a dining room and sitting room on each floor, it makes for a more homely atmosphere. The staff seem very kind and caring and my mother has bonded with many of them. The activities are wide ranging so there is something for everyone EXCELLENT activities! Whenever I visit, there always seems to be a happy atmosphere, I especially remember Christmas Day!

Both my parents have been residents for 17 months. They had to move from another unsatisfactory residential home with a different service provider. They settled from day one and my mother loves the activities programme especially. The rooms are cosy and have all necessary facilities. The menu is varied and most important the staff are friendly and caring. My father passed away recently and everything was handled with dignity.

My aunt has been a resident for over 8 years and has always been happy. As she has become more frail the care has been fantastic. My mother has been a resident for 3 years and can't fault the care she received. The staff make the difference. Management is excellent.

Overall Experience

Mum has been a resident in Homewood for over three years and during this time she has been well cared for with her physical, mental and spiritual needs all being appropriately addressed. The staff treat her as an individual, continuing to interact well with her as her ability to communicate has deteriorated. Mum's bedroom is a generous size with good en-suite facilities. Although we feel that communication regarding organisational matters could be improved, as family members we are always made welcome when we visit Mum in Homewood.

When Mum first moved in, the activities provided gave her a new lease of life. As she became frailer, she was given all the aids possible to minimise her discomfort and allow her to join in the communal life, she has made many friends. As she approached the end of life, the carers treated her with love and respect. All the staff made time for her. The ethos of care extends to the cleaners and laundry staff who would stop for a chat.

This is a caring home with staff who make a real effort to give individual care and consideration to every resident. It is rigorously clean and well maintained. Visitors and residents wishes and preferences are welcomed and acted on whenever possible. In particular, my mother's key worker is unfailingly accessible, reassuring but honest in the care and attention she gives to my mother.

I received respite care from 28th October to 15th November following hip surgery. I would unhesitatingly recommend Homewood. I live only 300 yards from Homewood so I knew of its existence, but I did not have any knowledge of the establishment. I was delighted when I was accepted for the short stay. Whilst at Homewood, I happened to contact my GP who gave a glowing recommendation of Homewood as being the best home in Leamington Spa. Particularly the staff were very very good as was the food - it was five star. In terms of cost, it was expensive but I would still attend again.
