Overall Experience

My father has been a resident for a little over six months. He seems happy and content. I and the rest of his family are more than happy with his care. The home is always clean and tidy, all members of staff are very welcoming. His room is kept clean and we are always informed if he needs any toiletries etc buying. He has the opportunity to join in daily activities. The staff treat him, and all residents with respect. Every member of staff knows the name and needs of the residents on my father’s floor. When we visit I always see staff in corridors and, if a resident is in a communal room, there is always a staff member nearby. The meal menus look varied and nutritious. When my father has needed medical attention we have been informed immediately and made aware of what is going on. I cannot recommend Cherry Tree Lodge highly enough.

Since my father moved from sheltered accommodation where he had carers visiting him 4 times a day, but to no real avail, he has come on leaps and bounds. He's refound a verve for life and now enjoys visiting all the common rooms and generally moving around, something he'd lost in the previous 12 months. His appetite, which was a terrible worry, picked up as soon as he moved to the home, and he's actually put weight on. He is always in good spirits and we are delighted that he resides at a care home that we've always rated highly through our experience of other relatives residing there.

My aunt has been a resident of Cherry Tree Lodge for several years. We are extremely pleased that she is so well cared for. The place is clean with attractive decor - many "memory reminders" for residents. Staff are unfailingly helpful and cheerful and speak to residents by name.

The layout of the home was a great idea which each are enabling the residents to have their own address and a sense of home. The rooms are spacious and bright and kept clean and tidy. The dining areas and sitting areas were very inviting and the garden area with the raised beds is a great idea to get the residents involved and keep them active.

The receptionist was very welcoming with a bright and cheerful manner. The management and staff were extremely helpful and acted in a professional and compassionate manner in everything they did, treating my mother-in-law with dignity and respect.

My friend has Alzheimer's and her condition has started to deteriorate quite rapidly. The staff at The Lawns are providing excellent care to my friend and support to her family/friends.
Keeping us updated on every aspect of her care. Monitoring her frequently and effectively.
Maintaining her dignity by treating her as a person first and a resident with Alzheimer's second
The management team frequently walk the floor and are aware of issues they know their residents not always the case in a 70 bed home.

The attitude and professionalism of the team are exemplary.

Overall Experience

My 94-year-old mother moved here in the middle of February and I have nothing but praise for The Lawns. My mother moved from the south coast to be near to me. From the moment I first contacted the home, through my initial visit and my mothers' moving in the staff have been brilliant. When meeting staff in the corridors etc. they always have a smile and greeting. The management is very accommodating and always happy to help. Mum had a choice of rooms and when the first didn't suit her she was swiftly moved to another. All requests are dealt with in a timely and professional way. The home always smells fresh and is very light and airy. It is well decorated with relevant pieces of furniture and memorabilia dotted. The food is excellently illustrated by the fact that the staff eat the same food - Mum always seems to have a cup of tea 'on the go' when I visit. Mum has settled in well and in fact is happier than I have seen her for at least the last 5 years.
