On my visit to Bramble Lodge, it was during the presence of Covid-19. I thought the staff were very professional and courteous in their approach to the situation and followed the government guidelines/directives to PPE and social distancing throughout my stay.

The staff were very diligent about keeping our surroundings Covid-safe and hygienic. Later in the visit, I was able to discuss my mother's health with the assistant manager and we have established a good relationship.

All the staff are friendly and helpful, and my sister has settled in very well since she arrived in September 2019. She is well looked after and well cared for. She has her hair done nice and nails painted, which keeps her happy. She always looks nice, tidy and cared for as she always took care of her
appearance.

Care seems excellent. We visit (usually) three times a week and have never seen anything we don't like. My Aunt is always clean and usually doing something (like a crossword). Her hair is always brushed and looks nice. I am grateful that the staff always help her into a wheelchair so we can go and sit
together in a quiet corner, have a tea/coffee together and chat. Twice a year we book the cafe and have a family party. The staff set out the room for us with cups/plates/wine glasses. it is a lovely home. they even let the dog visit (which delights my Aunt).

I have had experience of many care homes over the years and would rate Bramble Lodge among the best. The staff are caring and attentive, it is not the easiest job to carry out. I find the staff and management will listen and take action to help the residents.

We are very happy with the care Bramble Lodge provides for my mum. The care, safety and security are such an improvement to her life and wellbeing.
The Bramble Lodge team are excellent in general and very kind towards Mum and she knows she is safe. She has never smiled as much as she does now, we
feel she knows she is safe and that's down to everyone at Bramble Lodge. Finally, a word to promote the gardens, getting outside is important and Mum really enjoys the gardens and flowers come the spring and summer months.

My Mother has been a resident at Bramble Lodge for over two years. In that time, mainly due to the fact that I take my father to see his wife, I have observed probably most of the staff at work in a wide variety of roles. I have always found the staff to be very dedicated and hard-working, showing great
compassion towards both Mother and Father and myself. Not only that, itis obvious that they show this compassion towards all residents and some go above and beyond to support us in what is a difficult decision to make.

My Aunt has been a resident at Bramble Lodge for nearly 2 1/2 years.
She seems happy and content and very well looked after on all counts.
Without exception, the staff are caring, kind and very patient. There are lots of activities and entertainment and medical check-ups as required.
I visit 3 or
4 times a week and am always made welcome and visitors are free to make drinks etc. There is a room available for social events organised by relatives with crockery etc provided by the home.
I am always impressed by the fact that the staff recognise visitors and know which resident they belong to!
I would not hesitate to recommend Bramble Lodge to anyone.

My husband moved to Bramble Lodge aged 54 years, initially for respite care but this soon became a permanent arrangement. We, meaning my husband, myself and family have always been very happy with the welcome, the care, support and professionalism of the team from managers, carers, cleaning and kitchen
staff. I visit most days and at various times of the day and see the daily running of the home and feel ALL staff are kind, caring, respectful and help provide a safe, caring, secure environment for my husband and his family.

My grandad decided to move into a care home when he started to have more difficulty at home, as his health had deteriorated. They tried carers at home but it wasn't enough for him to feel safe so we found a place for him at Bramble Lodge. He looked 100 times better in just a couple of days and his usual
joking personality returned. The staff cared for him like he was their own grandad which was so lovely to see.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.577)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.577) out of 10 for Bramble Lodge Residential & Dementia Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.577 for Bramble Lodge Residential & Dementia Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (202 Excellents x 5) + (88 Goods x 4) + (17 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 310 Ratings = 4.577
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bramble Lodge Residential & Dementia Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
