Staff very friendly and supportive, also kind and caring.
Confident that my relative’s needs are well cared for, including medical needs and daily living activities.

There are other extra treats, such as regular hair and nail care, as well as lovely entertainment.

My father was placed in another home on respite care, a care home which we were very unhappy with. Both the manager and staff were extremely helpful in assisting us to get Dad moved to Codnor Park. The help they provided was caring, clear and crucial to us as a family. While we could tell the facilities at Codnor Park far exceeded our experience with the respite care home, it was following Dad's move we fully understood and appreciated the exceptional level of care provided. Dad was treated as an individual with care, dignity and understanding. The whole family were totally happy and looking forward to visiting Dad in surroundings which felt like home. Sadly Dad unexpectedly passed away after only a short stay. We can't thank the manager and all the staff enough and wish we had been given longer to get to know them better.

I have found the care home excellent in every way.
The staff efficient and very friendly. The home very clean. Food good.
My mum has only been there two weeks, but the difference it has made to her is marvellous. She has been cared for and has been taken out.

I cannot praise this home enough.

Codnor Park was home from home for Grandpa for the majority of 2023 until he passed away. They cared for him with respect, dignity and love. I was very nervous of Grandpa going into care having never experienced it with a relative before but the whole experience was made easy by the great team at Codnor Park.
Grandpa was a real cheeky chappie but due to dementia his behaviour could be challenging at times but the staff took it all in their stride and were amazing with.

In his final days, the love and care they gave Grandpa I will forever be grateful for along with the support they gave me as I sat at his side.

Great team of people, very caring and attentive. I feel very lucky that this place is only a stone’s throw away from where I live, as not only is it very convenient for visiting my mother, but the quality of care, accommodation, food and people are very high. There’s always someone on hand to speak with if there are any concerns, which are actioned as soon as possible.
Codnor Park provides regular entertainment and outdoor trips for residents, which provides wonderful distractions.
Whenever I visit, there’s always a smile with a greeting from all.

Codnor Park is a great option, and would highly recommend viewing or even a trial stay.

Our mother has been a resident at the home for the past four months. Initially, we had a few concerns, but these were promptly addressed with the arrival of a new staff team shortly after our mother’s admission.
My sister and I make it a point to visit our mother most days, and during these visits, we interact with other residents. We feel as though we are part of the Codnor Park Residential Home family. The home provides a broad array of activities for the residents, ensuring there’s something to suit everyone’s interests.
We actively engage in the home’s resident and relative meetings, advocating not just for our mother, but for all residents. We value the fact that the senior staff take our suggestions into account and implement them.

I would strongly encourage other relatives of residents to actively participate in these meetings when they are held. It has proven to be beneficial for the home’s ongoing improvement program. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

My mother spent 14 months at Codnor Park until she died. Throughout her stay, all the staff were kind, considerate and patient in dealing with her. The home was professionally run and that culture was demonstrated by everyone involved. From a relative’s perspective, they were always open, helpful and supportive. In her final days, the staff showed great compassion and love which came from the heart demonstrating that it was more than just a job. They’d become really close to her and I know she appreciated that. As a relative of someone approaching the end, I was really grateful for the supportive way they helped me and my family. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble! I have no hesitation in recommending Codnor Park to anyone.

A bit disappointed with the caring and handling.

Carers pointing fingers at you when talking and using the human rights act without knowing very well what intel (sound as if it's an excuse not to do the job). The resident in question was scared of saying or complaining because it could reflect on the caring. Was promised a shower every other day, and ended up having one a week, when so. Staff was asked to clean and check some bits in the bedroom of the resident and the answer to that (it was not that important). Even when staff were friendly, communication with the family and answers to information was nearly non-existing, including the next of kin. They were very understanding and caring just at the time the resident was passing away, and the whole family do appreciate that very much. It was the only part of the process that was done smoothly, sadly enough.

My dad moved into Codnor Park in October 21. It was the hardest, most upsetting decision to admit I could no longer care for him myself. But it was also the best decision. Codnor Park is a wonderful, friendly home from home, and the staff treat Dad like one of their own loved ones. They always make me feel so welcome and keep me well informed as to Dad's health/progress. I would recommend this care home to everyone.

My wonderful dad had been a resident of Codnor Park Residential Home. Sadly he passed away this week. The care and love shown to him was nothing less than outstanding. Each and every single member of staff should be extremely proud of themselves. We spent a lot of time there during his last few days and felt the love for Dad from every member of your wonderful team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the day we were dreading so much more bearable. You’re angels, each and every one of you.

I am Registered Manager of both Codnor Park Care Home and The Firs Nursing Home.

I love the feeling of going home knowing that something that I have been able to do has had a massive positive impact on the people living in our home.

The residents drive my passion. I have so much love for them, seeing them smile and enjoy living at the home and being able to support people who are on end of life care, knowing that you have provided exactly what they have needed in that time.

I often forget I’m at work because it feels like home. The people around are like family and I love them all dearly.

One day we will be old and I’d like to know that there is someone to fight for me the way I fight for them.

Hi, I’m Phoebe! I absolutely love having a good chat and getting to know the families and individuals I help. My goal is to make the process of finding the right home as easy and reassuring as possible.

This is something close to my heart — I’ve had two of my own family members stay within our group, so I truly understand how important it is to feel confident and comfortable in your choice.

If you call us during the week, chances are you’ll get me on the other end of the phone. I’m always happy to answer any questions you have — and if I don’t know the answer right away, I’ll make it my mission to find out for you. I’ll be here for you every step of the way, making sure you feel supported, listened to, and at ease.
