Heather Vale Care Home, is a lovely place to visit and stay. There is always a warm welcome from the staff, who take time to chat with visitors and residents. My dad has been living here for a few months and it is so reassuring to see that he is well looked after and safe. He has a lovely room overlooking the garden and enjoys the activities that take place at the home. There is always an activity in the home or a visiting entertainer, with live music.

The management staff are very approachable and I'm confident that they would deal with any issues, if I brought them up. Every month the staff check in with me and my dad to see how things are going. All in all, Heather Vale is a caring, welcoming and happy place with wonderful and hard working staff.

I am extremely happy with Heather Vale, the staff are very friendly and can not do enough for you. They have regular chats with me about Mum's care and if there are any issues (which is not often) they are dealt with. I feel confident to approach the Home Manager with anything, she and the office staff are always willing to listen and help.
Overall my Mum has thrived in the Home, she interacts more with people, she loves the staff who are very patient, kind, caring and gentle with her. She has put weight on since she's been there, which she needed to do, and the Activities lady is brilliant getting the residents involved in different activities which keeps their minds and bodies active.

Thank you to everyone there. I do highly recommend you to anyone who asks me about Heather Vale and the environment there. You are all doing a fantastic job and I feel happy and relaxed knowing my Mum is being taken care off by you all. I cannot express my gratitude enough.

My mother lived at Heather Vale for five months. At 96 she had a number of complex needs including Vascular Dementia. The staff at Heather Vale provided excellent care for mum. They really looked after her and in many ways became her family. Their support in issuing medicines and prompt action in involving wider medical services was excellent. Mum was particularly prone to falls and the staff supported her superbly, looking in on her every 30 minutes to ensure her safety. Mum was always made to feel welcome. I am particularly keen to stress the support given to my wife and I as mum neared the end of her life. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble and I know that a number of staff went that extra mile to ensure mum's comfort and welfare.

I have been living here for nineteen months now and I am very happy. The carers are very caring and kind. I have a lovely room with an en-suite, it's like a little bedsit. There is also a big lounge where we can chat or watch television and have activities.

I'm very happy with the environment, care and support my dad gets at Heather Vale. The staff are friendly, caring, supportive, respectful and dedicated. My dad is happy and settled. I can see that the lounge activities are varied and good even though my dad prefers his own company and television. Residents choices are respected in the home. The environment is light and welcoming and well maintained. I would be happy to stay here myself if I had the need.

It was such a relief knowing my mum was well cared for and safe. Special mention to the manager and all the team for making Mum's birthday special with cards, flowers, cake and a ballon - it was such a lovely thought. All the staff are amazing and a credit to the home. Thank you all so much.

My Mother has been a resident at Heather Vale Care Home for three months. She had to move from her housing due to the deterioration in her health as she has Alzheimer's disease.

At first, she had some difficulty settling in at the care home but the support she was given was excellent she is now happy there and gets all the care she needs. Consequently, my life is now better knowing she is well cared for.

Mum lived at Heather Vale for almost 18 months until her recent death. Her ensuite bedroom was lovely and spacious. The menus looked great. We were impressed with the activities on offer to keep residents stimulated, such as crafts and regular entertainment. She was really well looked after. The staff are caring and approachable. As a family, we have no hesitation in recommending this home.

My auntie had been in Heather Vale for 3 years. The staff were always friendly to me. The staff were great with Pat they were friendly, and nothing was too much for them. They had some great laughs with her, they danced with her. The food was great, the place was always clean. At the end the staff cared a lot for her, made her comfortable, and said their goodbyes. Some of them got close to her.

I would recommend Heather Vale to anyone.

Following a traumatic respite period at a different home, I was nervous about looking anywhere else, but with Alzheimer's getting worse for my gran it was a need. From the moment we stepped in the door to view, I knew it was right, daft things like carpet on the floor, the furniture was clean and modern but right for the age group. Staff were bustling about and clearly visible. Residents looked comfy, entertained and happy. They came to meet my gran in her own home to assess her needs and agreed to take her. From that day forward I relaxed, you could drop in whenever you wanted, so I felt there was nothing to hide. She was always clean, and colour-coordinated, which was a huge thing for my gran. She started to put on a little weight so I knew she was eating. There were always familiar faces and not a huge turnover of staff. They were entertained every day and it was lovely seeing pictures on social media of my gran joining in. The best decision I made was Heather Vale.

My mother entered Heather Vale in the summer of 2020, after six months in a care home in Northumberland (respite care). She was moved here to be near to her immediate family. she has quickly settled into her new environment and is now contented! This is primarily down to the staff, who in my opinion, have bent over backwards to accommodate her and make her feel part of the community, at an otherwise difficult period of her life.

Well cared for. Staff attentive and willing to listen is help needed.

Would recommend but would point out that I thought it was very expensive. As I improved staff popped in less which I missed, but care did not reduce.
