Over the past six years, we have noticed a general decline in the quality of the care provided. Cost cutting seems more important than the care and comfort of the residents and there seems to be a lack of leadership. Care is hurried and at times terse. Food is boring and basic. Standards have definitely fallen. We are disappointed.

Heather Vale is a very good care home where my mother-in-law has been for 3 1/2 years. Good bedroom and very good staff. One important issue as a visitor is gaining entry and exit from the building. We have to wait outside in the cold until staff hear the bell and let us in - for security...
Heather Vale is a very good care home where my mother-in-law has been for 3 1/2 years. Good bedroom and very good staff. One important issue as a visitor is gaining entry and exit from the building. We have to wait outside in the cold until staff hear the bell and let us in - for security reasons.
I would suggest building a small porch outside the front door with an outer door kept unlocked and the inner door locked. This would help with keeping heat in and stopping a cold draught. There is already a canopy which could be built around.
