Staff are friendly and helpful and quick to resolve any problems that arise. Michael can be quite challenging with refusing to eat and drink but staff are good at encouraging him. His birthday was celebrated with a cake made for him and a photo taken of him with it while wearing the birthday hat. I am happy that they are doing everything to make him settled.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are really glad we could make Michael's birthday special for you both.

Cannot fault the care given to all residents Karina is an absolute angel, full of enthusiam and genuine love for all. I love the way there is a residents special day, and how you do so much for them.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and kind words about Corina, this means a lot to the team.
Friendly staff who make sure that residents arrive in the dining room for their meals.
There appear to be plenty of activities, with special celebrations (both national and personal), aiming to include all residents.
Services such as chiropody and hairdressing are available and there's prompt registration with local GPs etc.
Not so good stuff: The enclosed garden is nice, but residents don't seem to be allowed into it very often which, when they're used to having been able to get outside (either in a garden or just for a walk), makes them feel trapped and resentful of their situation.
I gather that the food sometimes could be better.
Thank you for the good comments, in regards to the not so good, it is not always possible for the residents to access the garden as we can cannot let them roam freely without supervisiondue to risk or falls, we do have outdoor activies when it is not too warm, as with the heat recently it could...
They make the residents feel so calm and cared for.
The amount of activities is great. Could not fault anything.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we will pass it onto the team. Much appreciated.
My mother-in-law has a spacious room and seems very happy, always.

Meet the Team (2)

I have been working here since summer 2023 but I have over 10 years of experience in activities and care. I am an NVQ 3 qualified, fire trainer instructor and I have a degree in pedagogy & psychology. I can sing, and play the guitar and my favourite activity is a fun singalong. My proudest achievement in this role is winning 1st place for the tastiest cake in a cake-making activity. In my spare time, I also like to take photographs. You will see some of these pictures on our Facebook page. My biggest passion in life is volunteering for charities supporting children in need.

My passion for care began when I used to visit my grandma who was in Holmewood Care Home, I got to know the manager who saw something in me and suggested a career in care, I wasn’t sure if I could do it but she encouraged me to give it try and I have never looked back.
I started as a care assistant 25 years ago and gradually worked my way through the different roles in the home, becoming a deputy in 2014 and then manager in 2022, an achievement I am really proud of.
Every day is so rewarding, when new resident arrives, they can start off scared and unsettled so the challenge is to make them feel at home and like part of the family, when you see them transform and thrive, it makes it all worthwhile.
My qualifications include NVQ levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Health & Social Care and management.
