A really fun afternoon with musicians singing 50s and 60s for dancing and staff making everyone welcome to join in. Lovely refreshments of juices and finger refreshments. Thank you everyone.
Thank you for your comments, glad that you enjoyed the open day event and had a good time.
My aunt has been in the home for a week and has settled in very well. The staff are kind and attentive, her room homely and bright and the management informative and approachable. It's early days but so far my aunt and the family are very happy with their choice of care home.
Thank you for your lovely review It was a pleasure to have Aunt stay with us in the home will pass on your kind feedback to all the team.
A very friendly care home, food very good, all service users, very helpful. My friend is always showered and nice and clean and shaved. Lovely people here and also the manager is lovely and very helpful.

My father has been at the Holmewood Care Home for approximately eight months, and we are very happy with his care. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit him. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, from management to domestic staff, and the carers are always available if we need any advice. My father enjoys the entertainment provided, and he is very happy there. Would recommend the care home to anyone.
Thank you for the lovely review; we will feed feedback to all the staff team, and we hope he enjoys spending many more years with us at Holmewood.
Nothing is too much trouble. Can't find fault. Highly recommended.
Thank you for taking the time to review the care of your sister at Holmewood and for your positive comments. I will make sure these are relayed to the staff team.
On my first visit I was impressed by the security at the entrance, a register is on hand for visitors to sign in, date, time, and the name of the person going to see. You then ring a bell to be admitted. You are welcomed by a smiling happy face of one of the staff. My first impression, no smell of stale air it was fresh. The community room has comfy chairs and a TV, there is also plenty of fruit juice and little snacks for the residents, staff was there at all times, alert, watchful, professional, nothing was too much trouble, and always with a smile. My brother's room had his photo taped to the door (good idea), it consisted of a bed, wardrobe, an easy chair near the window and clean. For main meals they have a choice of two. I have to admit it smelled delicious. I know my brother is in a good place and his needs are being cared for.
Thank you so much for your lovely kind words, I will make sure that the staff are made aware of the lovely comments you have made about them and the home.
The service has been first class and the staff are extremely professional. We are very satisfied with the care Mother is receiving.
Thank you very much for your review, I am glad you are happy with the care the home is providing.
Losing personal items, clothes and bedding. Lack of communication with staff and management. The staff are friendly but on enquiring information on the phone sometimes are rude and feel time is wasted.
We want to assure you that we take all comments about our home very seriously and thank you for taking the time to clarify your issues on the phone call. I can confirm that we do have a regular program of refurbishing our bedrooms, and in relation to beds, we provide different types according to...

Thank you for your review pleasure to have your mum-in-law in the home.
Unbelievable home, the staff are truly amazing, fantastic with staff. Nothing is too much trouble. My nan was underweight on arrival and they helped her put weight on. Made her feel at home and settled. Made the whole experience a less distressing one.
Thank you for your response regarding your grandma's care in Holmewood it was a pleasure to have your grandma stay with us at the home and get to know you all as a family.
Very happy with Mums care.
Staff are pleasant and friendly. The home's communal areas could do with a revamp as it's looking tired and worn. I also think the cleanliness could be better, particularly in the toilets.

Meet the Team (2)

I have been working here since summer 2023 but I have over 10 years of experience in activities and care. I am an NVQ 3 qualified, fire trainer instructor and I have a degree in pedagogy & psychology. I can sing, and play the guitar and my favourite activity is a fun singalong. My proudest achievement in this role is winning 1st place for the tastiest cake in a cake-making activity. In my spare time, I also like to take photographs. You will see some of these pictures on our Facebook page. My biggest passion in life is volunteering for charities supporting children in need.

My passion for care began when I used to visit my grandma who was in Holmewood Care Home, I got to know the manager who saw something in me and suggested a career in care, I wasn’t sure if I could do it but she encouraged me to give it try and I have never looked back.
I started as a care assistant 25 years ago and gradually worked my way through the different roles in the home, becoming a deputy in 2014 and then manager in 2022, an achievement I am really proud of.
Every day is so rewarding, when new resident arrives, they can start off scared and unsettled so the challenge is to make them feel at home and like part of the family, when you see them transform and thrive, it makes it all worthwhile.
My qualifications include NVQ levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Health & Social Care and management.
