Smalley Hall Residential Home has grounds with lovely views. Residents can make good use of the pretty courtyard garden in the summer months. The trees and planting in the garden encourages wildlife and birds to visit. This garden is used for summer fetes and BBQs with family and friends. In fact the summer fayre is usually a massive hit, drawing in local residents to enjoy the day.

With only 27 residents when full you can be sure that the attention to detail at Smalley Hall is second to none. Well trained staff feel more like family as they are such a close knit team. The lovely manager even brings her dog Monty to work every day to keep everyone entertained.

There are lots of things to keep you busy at Smalley, from arts and crafts, quizzes and games, to trips out and live entertainment. Cooking club is a favourite amongst the residents where snacks are made by residents and family recipes are shared with the cooks so everyone can try them!

Also with regular visits to the onsite hairdressing salon you will be looking your best, and with regular visits from a chiropodist, dentist, physiotherapist and GP when required, you can feel very well looked after indeed.

We're delighted with the care Mum is receiving, she appears to be much more like herself these days, much brighter and alert. We were particularly pleased that she participated in a trip to the cinema this week. Although she couldn't hear the soundtrack, getting out is a major step forward. Hopefully,
she'll get out again as the weather improves.

Mum has been here at Smalley Hall for over three years. Although her walking and dementia prevent her getting out much now she regularly enjoys internal events. The staff work hard and always try to make it a good time for the residents. The food and facilities appear ok, with some recent refurbishment.
All in all Smalley Hall Residential Home can be recommended.

As a family friend of one of the service users at Smalley Hall, I have always found the overall care to be above standard. The care shown to service users is of respect, dignity and understanding. I always find the staff absolutely brilliant. They are welcoming and helpful at all times. The home is spotlessly clean and smells good. All the residents are well cared for even when they can be demanding. I have nothing but good impressions and am always telling people how good it is.

Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming. It's noticeable that service users did not want for anything. The building was extremely clean and the staff always kept coming back to visitors to see if we needed or wanted anything. I would highly recommend Smalley Hall to anyone.

Lovely residence, very friendly (consider part of the family) now.
Excellent staff only too willing to help if extra help needed.
Nothing is too much trouble.
Lovely food.
Lovely entertainment.
Great activities.
Mum has been in three years and seems very settled.
She didn't like mixing with people
at her home. But now joins in with most of the activities and has now got one or two close friends.
Mum suffers from dementia and sometimes gets muddled up and distressed.
But staff always try to help and reassure her in any way they can which isn't always easy.

An excellent establishment providing me with care, respect and love. As a vulnerable lady in her 90s, it's comforting to know that I can rely on the care around me. The professionalism of the staff is second to none and the parent company seem to be continually investing in the home. I feel safe.

My brother and I recently went to Smalley Hall for V-E day celebrations and it was great. All the residents including my mum really enjoyed it. My mum recently went into Smalley Hall for respite and decided to stay because she loves it. We couldn't ask for better and friendly care. It was difficult
to find the right home for my mum but as soon as we walked into Smalley Hall we knew it was the right choice. I would highly recommend.

My mother-in-law has lived with us for 15 years and now has dementia, so over the years we have gone to many care homes for respite care when we go away, but our needs had changed and this time due to dementia. When we arrived to pick mum up 17 days later normally she is agitated and tearful, but this
time didn't want to come home! The care she has been given has been amazing all the staff are so friendly and any special requests they will do their best to provide, they have activities every day if they wish, and a cat and dog which mum would like. I will not be searching for anywhere else next holiday this is a first class home with first class staff.

Mum stayed at Smalley Hall Residential Home for the first time for 12 days having dementia she is normally very agitated when we collect her from respite but on this occasion, she was calm and relaxed. We would hope to use them again in the future.

My mother went into care February 2016, it was something she did not want to do but due to health reasons. Mum needed full time care something that as a family we could not do. Mum settled in and after a few weeks she started to enjoy the company and activities the home provided. The staff were very
kind and thoughtful with her and all the family, to have to put someone into care is very upsetting for everyone and it was the right care home for her.
