Overall Experience
My nan stayed at Wheathills House for seven and a half years until she passed away of old age. We chose Wheathills due to its lovely setting and views, clean and tidy appearance, and friendly, caring and helpful staff. We visited a couple of times a week and never had any concerns.

My nan was happy in the home, she enjoyed the company of the other residents and staff, and she always enjoyed the food. My nan took part in activities at the home and went on arranged trips out. We were allowed to have Christmas dinner with my nan at the home which my nan really appreciated.

The care Dad has been given is superb. He is encouraged to be as independent as possible. The staff are all gentle and kind towards him. They make sure all his needs are met.

He is settled and happy. Nothing is too much trouble. They reassure him when he is confused.

I have visited many homes having close friends but none compare with Wheathills. The building and surrounding views are excellent. The care is faultless. The staff are so friendly and the care they provide shows to visitors and the lucky people they try to look after. The residents really love them and in return, they really love the people they are caring for. Long may it continue.

When my mother was well, she enjoyed her stay and made some friends. Always asked to return but was unable to because she required nursing home care.

Wheathills House is a decent care home. The staff were caring and did their best. Things can always be better but the overall experience was good. Mum would have been happy to go back after a spell in hospital but needed a nursing home.

Overall Experience

My father receives excellent care in a friendly, homely and well-kept environment at Wheathills House. The needs of residents are met with kindness and consideration and residents are encouraged by the staff to be independent as far as their individual ability and mobility allows. The staff maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home and in addition, the food is all freshly prepared on the premises. Fresh flowers throughout the home add to the overall ambience of this pleasant home. There are good levels of communication between staff and management, residents and their relatives.

My father has been in Wheathills House since December 2015. Despite our reservations about his ability to fit into a care home at 94 and a half years old, my father has settled well and regards the place as "home". He is well fed, always looks clean and presentable and his room is always clean and fresh. We are welcome at any time.

Review from George M (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 22 August 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father-in-law has been in Wheathills House since November 2015.
The level of care is superb, delivered by an excellent team who are obviously committed to what they do.
The premises are always clean, tidy and devoid of any odours that one might normally associate with some care homes.
My father-in-law's room is always spotless and very obviously maintained on a daily basis to a high standard.
The food quality is high and always well presented. My wife and I, along with other family members, have in the recent past accepted an invitation to join the residents for lunch. As well as good food, the atmosphere was happy and we were made very welcome. It was heartening to see the residents enjoy their meal and to observe the high level of care and supervision provided by the staff.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Wheathills to other families.
