Douglas Court is a family-run, award-winning care home providing affordable quality care based within close proximity to Derby city centre providing easy access to bus stops, train station and local amenities.

A friendly, well-trained team ensure high standards of residential and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Resident happiness and well-being is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage residents to lead a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. A minibus, means residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

The purpose-built home has a range of large comfortable bedrooms and spacious communal lounges. Home-cooked meals are served in a dining room overlooking the pleasant landscaped sensory garden, which also has a patio seating area and an aviary.

The staff are always welcoming and friendly. They care and interact with the residents.
There is always a happy, relaxed atmosphere, whatever time you visit.
Staff are happy to answer any questions and see to know the residents well. My grandma loves it here. Her room is bright and welcoming with
lovely furniture. Always lots of activities for the residents to take part in. Lovely garden area. Dietary requirements are well catered for.

We visited other homes before my sister came here and all were nothing in comparison for Douglas Court. Firstly there is no smell because it's constantly cleaned. Their staff are all so kind and considerate. The food is excellent I can't fault it.

Mum really likes Douglas Court. The staff are very friendly. The facility and food are top notch. I have used Douglas Court for temporary respite for my mother.
I hope they always have a free room when I need respite. Mum loves it here

At all times of the day on all of my visits, the staff are always very friendly and happy. They are always ready to have a laugh and a joke with both residents and visitors. I can see that they are very caring and treat all with respect and kindness.

We delayed my mother having to go into a care home for as long as we could so that she would have her own independence. But with her dementia growing worse and a few serious accidents, we had to relinquish to the truth that she needed 24hour care. I was a bit concerned about a home with what you read
and see on the news. The staff are like an extended family to us and take extreme care to, not just my mother, but all in the home. After 4 months I can say they are the same as day 1 100% committed to the "guests".

My father was admitted to Douglas Court near the end of December 2016, after a sudden deterioration in his condition. We were all very upset on that morning but were met with kindness and understanding. Nothing was too much trouble for all of the staff. We have been very impressed with all the care
and patience shown to all of the residents.
Douglas Court is a warm, homely place. Everything has been done to help my father settle in and all his needs have been met. My family and I are made to feel most welcome when we visit dad. They always offer us a cup of tea or coffee, everyone is so kind.

I was really worried and concerned about mum going into care but right from the start I felt at ease and reassured by the team and environment. I feel it's lovely and clean and homely. I am very sure I have nade the right choice. Douglas Court is second to none perfection.

My wife and I were looking for a care home for her mom, as she has developed Dementia, and being the only child, my wife was very concerned to find the "right place" for her mother to be taken care of. Well, the very moment we stepped inside Douglas Court in Derby, we both knew that mom would have been
looked after. We were greeted at the door by a very professional staff, everywhere we looked was clean and tidy. Then, the newly appointed manager introduced himself to us, with grace, smiling face, and a reassuring handshake.
He showed us the place. We had chosen right, mom is happy and made new friends. My wife has finally relaxed and she does not worry anymore, mom is in a superb and professional care. Thank you to the Manager and thank you to all of your staff for being so wonderful! We love you guys, and we cannot praise you enough for the marvellous work that you do. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

When my dad first went into Douglas Court there were a few issues eg wearing other people's clothes, personal items missing, food stained clothing (despite providing his own bib). Looking back, I now feel this coincided with the disruption of many staff moving to another home. We voiced our concerns
and now we have no complaints. Dad is settled and the staff are very kind and compassionate.
