Douglas Court is a family-run, award-winning care home providing affordable quality care based within close proximity to Derby city centre providing easy access to bus stops, train station and local amenities.

A friendly, well-trained team ensure high standards of residential and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Resident happiness and well-being is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage residents to lead a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. A minibus, means residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

The purpose-built home has a range of large comfortable bedrooms and spacious communal lounges. Home-cooked meals are served in a dining room overlooking the pleasant landscaped sensory garden, which also has a patio seating area and an aviary.

My mother was made very welcome and helped to settle in quickly. In the friendly surroundings and ambience, she has found a new lease of life. She enjoys the many activities and socialising with residents and staff.


The rooms are of a good size and well furnished. The food is good and wholesome.

Plenty of help from staff to assist. Staff are caring and polite when helping the residents with dignity and sensitivity all the time.


The building is always clean and the furniture comfortable. Residents are always well cared for in a safe, secure setting. I would be happy to recommend the home to others.

A safe and clean home. Staff are all very caring and attentive with a good sense of humour. We have seen a huge improvement in the health and well-being of our mother since she became a resident at Douglas Court.

I have found this residential/dementia care home excellent in all aspects of care. The staff team, management and all involved with the residents eg outside providers such as the entertainment uplifting every concern work as a respectful team. The manager and staff have consistently provided support to my friend through extremely difficult circumstances.
Although the situation has been stressful. They have listened to us and been professional throughout.

My Grandad always seems to be in good health, plenty of drink and snacks. The place is lovely and warm. The staff I have spoken to are always friendly and very helpful. I cannot fault the place or people that work here. It makes a world of difference knowing that my Grandad is being wonderfully looked
after and is safe. Thank you for a wonderful service and help keep my grandad's dignity.

Douglas Court provides a caring environment for all that are lucky enough to reside here. The open door policy that allows full time working relatives like me, the flexibility to visit at any time on any day is incredibly valuable to me. The encouragement of younger family members and even pets to visit
enables new memories to be formed even when old memories are being lost.

Here for a short stay. The environment is excellent, food superb, staffing was good to excellent, activities often. Facilities available. Met a great friend, who made my stay super. One staff member, in particular, made an excellent atmosphere, thank you. Thank you to all.

Douglas Court is an exceptional home. I could not have wished for better care for my dad during his time there.


The manager and all of the staff are wonderful people, nothing was ever too much trouble and they showed my dad not only care, but love and respect. I will be forever in their debt.

Making the decision to move grandad into a home was a heartbreaking decision for the whole family. Douglas Court made him welcome and made the transition for him as easy as they could. As his condition deteriorated they worked so hard to ensure he was as comfortable as possible. They are a fantastic

Nice, friendly home. Staff are down to earth. The staff show dignity and respect to all the residents.
