The reason I came into Elvaston Lodge Care Home from the hospital was because I've been very poorly with health issues, as I couldn't look after myself anymore. I came in here on 23rd Feb 2026 where I feel safe, I'm having 24 hour care, the carers and staff are absolutely brilliant. Anything I want I just have to press a buzzer, and they come straight away to change my pad and bed.
It is our pleasure to care for you. This opportunity you have given us is a privilege, so thank you for sharing your review of your experiences at Elvaston Lodge.
I will pass your comment on to the team.
Kind regards,
Richelle
My mum moved here from a different home where she was so unhappy. Here they treated with care and understanding. My mum was so much happier here. We got my old mum back. We got to take her out again and she improved so much. Thank you for making the end of her life so much happier and making us feel so welcome too. The staff here are amazing and so caring.
Thank you for your time and for providing us with your review.
We appreciate that you have chosen Elvaston Lodge to care for your mum. Your feedback means a lot to us.
I will pass your comment on to the team.

Elvaston Lodge took amazing care of my gran right until the very end. The home has a range of activities for the residents, including a tuck shop! The staff are lovely and helpful. The manager is amazing!
Hi Rachel,
Thank you for taking the time to share your review about your experience of our home. On behalf of the whole Elvaston Lodge team, we truly appreciate the trust your family placed in us in caring for your gran.
Kindest regards, Richelle Smith
All staff that I had contact with were polite, caring individuals, from carers and nurses that were mainly concerned to provide care to my resident friend; to those that were always ready to arrange tea or coffee, or provide access to the entrance door. The fees for my friends end of life care were provided by the local NHS trust so the value for money assessment has not been assessed.

The best decision we made was to choose Elvaston Lodge for mum's end-of-life care. The management and staff have not only looked after mum with the highest standard of care and respect but have looked after us as a family. Every member of the team is kind, caring and supportive. The team always explain what they need to do to my mum and ask her permission. I can't thank them enough.

My mother is in for end of life care and we are so grateful to the management and and staff for her care. My mother has been treated with nothing but respect, dignity and care. This ethos is carried towards every member of the team no matter the task, nature or shift. The team helped us throughout a very difficult time. I can't thank you enough for this.

Well what can I say, Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home is fantastic. My wife's dad was taken really ill and ended up in hospital accident and emergency with the urine retract infection. We were there quite a while. We came back to Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home, they stopped there for five weeks, him and his wife, and the care that those two people received was absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend them enough. The staff face many difficult challenges each day and yet still smile and are helpful. Their double room was great for them. Thank you all at the Lodge!
We are so grateful for your reviews. Your feedback means a lot to the Elvaston Lodge team. We are happy to support anyone to the best of our abilities. We are glad we had that opportunity with your dad and E.I will pass your comments to the team. Kindest regards
I have found Elvaston Lodge to be a very pleasant care home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Any queries are answered efficiently. Although my grandmother was not with you very long, I am thankful that you were here to provide the care and support she needed and that I couldn't give at home. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with Elvaston Lodge. We are deeply touched by your appreciation and are grateful that we could provide the care and support your grandmother needed during her time with us. Our team strives to create a warm and...
There are utterly ridiculous processes and procedures in place which are completely at odds with those at other care homes. These are also seemingly changed at whim by management. It's a tedious process to gain access to visit and dangerously difficult to leave the building. I wonder if there was an incident whether the residents and visitors would be able to exit safely
The recent alteration to staff rotas, forcing the carers to split their shift with a 2-hour break while extending their work day by this 2 hours was an example of extremely poor management. Surely this is an unacceptable change of employment contract. Were staff compensated for this disruption? How did the home management anticipate this would influence staff morals and retention?
The care home management is rarely apparent or available.
Thank you for your feedback. Ensuring the highest standard of care for our residents is our top priority, and a positive, collaborative approach with relatives and visitors is essential to achieving this. We value open communication and as we do not have your contact details, we encourage you to contact the home's management team to discuss your concerns. Thanks, Richelle Smith Home Manager
The short time my mum was in care everyone associated with the care home was caring, very attentive and professional. My family and I appreciate the wonderful care of my mum.
Not enough carers. Too much cake and biscuits. No exercise. Some staff are excellent. Belongs going missing. Paying for toiletries not used by my husband and I had taken them in for him.
The home kept him safe and provided him with the security he required as his Alzheimer's worsened.
Thank you for your reviews and pass your comments to the team. It has been a pleasure meeting you all and having the opportunity to care for your dad. He was such a beautiful man.

Meet the Team (4)

I am proud of our home and passionate about care. It is important to me that each and every individual living in the home is treated and cared for in a way that makes them feel happy, comfortable and safe whilst maintaining a positive sense of self. I am committed to ensuring all aspects of the home meet official responsibilities and requirements and that our staff team myself included continue to learn and develop.

I enjoy working with great managers and leading the team to demonstrate correct procedures and ensure a personal approach. I have over 10 years of experience and my role is to ensure that the residents have the highest possible standard of care and live life to the full.

I love working at Elvaston Lodge and have been here for 6 years now. We give great care and the home is lovely for our residents. The staff team work really well together and we support and appreciate each other. I recently won employee of the month and was awarded with a lovely card, bunch of flowers and a day off. It’s really nice to be appreciated for the work we do. I love taking care of the residents in their home and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to do my job well.

Having worked at Elvaston Lodge for 12 years I feel proud to be a part of the team and everything that we have achieved. I am always willing to go that extra mile to make our residents feel at home and enjoy spending time with the residents whilst I work. I have a lot of pride in my work and it brings me great job satisfaction when visitors and residents comment on the cleanliness of the home.
