My father has only been there 4 weeks but from what I have seen up to now is excellent. All the staff are so welcoming and caring towards him and his family. I never feel that I am in the way and they try their utmost best to accommodate family. Today visited with my children and grandchild and joined in with a bingo game. The lovely activity staff member included us with my dad and he had a lovely time with his family. We were offered the opportunity to take him away from the game but we chose not to. This was not a problem for staff. I have written this review because I was touched by how accommodating they were.
Thank you for giving us your positive reviews. I will pass your message to all the staff, particularly to our activity coordinators. Kindest regards
My uncle was very happy here. The staff were very caring and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My uncle always looked clean and well-presented and the ones I came into contact with were genuinely kind, caring lovely people. I still have my parents, I am lucky but they are elderly, and if I ever need to look for a care home this would certainly be one of my choices. Thank you to everyone, the whole team from the cooks, cleaners and all the staff. Sadly my uncle passed away peacefully on 30/04/24 but was treated with dignity and respect. You are all wonderful.
We would like to thank you for your kind words for the staff and for your positive experiences with us. Grateful to have the opportunity to care for your uncle and work alongside with family. Your reviews are greatly appreciated by the whole team at Elvaston Lodge. Kindest regards
Building nice.
Food good.
Hi, thank you so much for your positive review. From all of us at Elvaston Lodge
I was very happy to see my mother looking so well. She has had her fair share of illness. I had dinner with her for the first time at the care home on the 9/ 3/24. I was very impressed with how the dinner was presented it was also very delicious. Her room was very clean. I wish to thank the team for how the care home is run. Also thanks to all the carers for the work they do. They don’t get paid enough for what they do. I do hope that in good time the government will look into what it involves to be a carer and give them a higher pay to reflect the hard work they do. I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the management and staff for what they do. The work they do is very challenging. I am at ease knowing my mum is well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home.
On behalf of the Elvaston Lodge team, I would like to thank you for your reviews. I will pass your message to the team. You are always welcome. Kind regards
Overall the care my aunt received has been exceptional. The care team have supported both myself and my aunt. everyone has shown great concern, care and respect for my family. Thank you for making the remainder of my aunt's life as happy and fulfilled as possible.
Passed your comment to the whole team.
Kind regards.
For looking after our mum when she needed support, care and compassion the whole staff team treated our mum well with lots of respect and dignity. Thank you for being there for us all as a family. You listened and cared and made us part of the Elvaston Lodge community family. You’re all amazing thank you again.
Many thanks.
My only reservation is the wait time to get into the main building, I appreciate staff are busy, in my mind there should be a receptionist. Other than that an absolute five star to all the staff.
And thank you for your trust and your reviews.
Take care.

The staff are very kind and caring. Their care of my brother is excellent.
It was our pleasure to have the opportunity of looking after your brother.
He was a lovely man who cared a lot for others in need despite his condition.
Take care.
Kind regards,
From us all at Elvaston Lodge
The experience is very good, but would like more residents to participate in activities apart from me. Hopefully, we will be able to go out in the garden soon, I do like helping with plants in the greenhouse when there is one. Would like to choose who I sit next to in the lounge! At another home, most residents got involved and we used to have more entertainment, e.g. singers. I would also like more involvement with church, Songs of Praise etc. Rooms not as good as the other home.
Hi. Thank you for your review. Many thanks.
Elvaston Lodge proved to be a caring, friendly and safe environment for mum. The home is clean and bright with modern en suite rooms. Lovely staff who always treated mum with respect and care for all her needs. The food is very good and mum has started to eat again since being at the Lodge. The entertainment lady is so good at motivating the residents and mum enjoyed the various activities. I must also give credit to the manager who is actively involved with residents and their families and works hard to cater for their needs, I found her to be very supportive of both mum and us as a family.
Many thanks,
Because of the circumstances, a coroner’s inquest was held. The coroner’s judgement was that at the care home, there was no prior clinical examination of mum, and had there been, this would have found the faecal impaction at an early stage. The laxatives she was prescribed had then been stopped without clinical examination and thus medical approval. As a consequence, the coroner was not able to report the death as "from natural causes", because the decision by the care home to stop laxatives on July 23 was a contributory cause of death.
Prior to this, the standard of care mum was receiving was shocking in every aspect. There was a manager who was uncontactable when we tried to express our concerns.
We value all feedback and continue to be committed to ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality care possible.
After the stress and anxiety caused by Dad's two nights in another care home, as soon as he moved to Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home I could tell this was much better for Dad. There is a lovely outside area where he can smoke safely, attended by a carer. His room is clean, bright and airy, they adapted it to his needs by removing unwanted furniture. His bathroom is ideal for his mobility issues. Although he usually eats little, his appetite has improved (I joined him for Easter lunch and the food was delicious). Usually a loner, he has mixed in with other residents. He's always treated with dignity and respect. Thank you to the team.
Looking forward to see you every day.

My mum was only in the home for a short time but was treated very well. The staff were attentive and offered her a lot of support. I was impressed by the organisation at the home. The food was excellent, and the home was clean and tidy. My mum was treated with a lot of respect and care in her final days.
From us all at Elvaston Lodge Team
Excellent care from all the staff and a big thank you to you all.

I don’t know where to start with my praise for all the staff at Elvaston Lodge Nursing Home. From day one all staff were kind and friendly to all of our family. We thought we had months there with my husband but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. The week he went into end of life care there wasn’t anything that the staff wouldn’t do for us or him. Always making sure he was comfortable and pain free. It wasn’t just him, it was anyone who came to sit with him in his last days. They were offered food and drink throughout the day. Nothing was any trouble at all. They were 100% helpful to us all. Always had time to listen to your worries or just asking how you were getting on. We will be eternally grateful for the care and dedication that was shown in my husband's last few days. Can’t thank you enough x
Thank you for your reviews and for the opportunity you gave us for trusting Elvaston Lodge Team to provide care and support for MT.

This place is truly disgusting. My father-in-law was placed here during covid. He ended up in hospital in December 2022 from where we were able to move him to a different home. He was in hospital following one of many falls. He should never have been forced to get on his feet. He was severely underweight, dehydrated and had sepsis. He should have had someone supervising his eating and drinking but did not. A family friend had visited him and asked if it was okay to leave him a gift of a bottle of rum. He was told that was Okay! His room was very dusty and dirty and the smell from him and the room was overwhelming. We were even given seats to sit on that had faeces on them. There were faeces on the floor one day with 3 staff members guiding people around it instead of simply picking it up. On one visit, a resident answered the door to us. Absolutely disgusting, shocking place and I would never advise anyone to place a loved one here.
Hi Linda,
We are sorry to hear about your negative experience. We take all allegations of this nature very seriously and assure you that the well-being and safety of our residents always remain our top priority.
We have strict procedures in place to prevent falls and ensure residents'...
I find the staff at Elvaston Lodge very considerate to the residents. If they are needed they are soon on the scene. I think they do a great job towards the resident and I think they do a wonderful day's work.
Many thanks for your review. I have fed this positive feedback received to the staff at Elvaston Lodge.

Meet the Team (4)

I am proud of our home and passionate about care. It is important to me that each and every individual living in the home is treated and cared for in a way that makes them feel happy, comfortable and safe whilst maintaining a positive sense of self. I am committed to ensuring all aspects of the home meet official responsibilities and requirements and that our staff team myself included continue to learn and develop.

I enjoy working with great managers and leading the team to demonstrate correct procedures and ensure a personal approach. I have over 10 years of experience and my role is to ensure that the residents have the highest possible standard of care and live life to the full.

I love working at Elvaston Lodge and have been here for 6 years now. We give great care and the home is lovely for our residents. The staff team work really well together and we support and appreciate each other. I recently won employee of the month and was awarded with a lovely card, bunch of flowers and a day off. It’s really nice to be appreciated for the work we do. I love taking care of the residents in their home and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to do my job well.

Having worked at Elvaston Lodge for 12 years I feel proud to be a part of the team and everything that we have achieved. I am always willing to go that extra mile to make our residents feel at home and enjoy spending time with the residents whilst I work. I have a lot of pride in my work and it brings me great job satisfaction when visitors and residents comment on the cleanliness of the home.
