My mother was only at Kibworth Court since the end of February. She was at a previous care home for 7 years having been diagnosed with vascular dementia. Carers at that home could not be faulted but continued frustration with Management resulted in myself and brothers finding an alternative home.
On
visiting Kibworth Court I found the Manager and her senior assistant very pleasant, informative and honest. The atmosphere there was very friendly and the residents all looked content. Some residents when asked how they liked the care home gave the thumbs up. Some of the rooms had been set up with a theme. One set up like a pub bar and easy chairs. Management and carers alike interact with the residents. My mother's room was excellent and looked out onto a lovely garden.
Her care was excellent and praise the home on all fronts and how they have coped with Covid-19 with no cases.
Sadly my mother passed away recently. One regret is that I did not move her before.
Recommend any time.

I moved my lovely Mother here at the beginning of March 2020, I wish I had moved her here many years earlier. Everyone here works for the team and their residents. The whole place is as a care home should be, a home. Everywhere you turn there is something to stimulate and to give a happy vibe. The staff
are brilliant and it is clear to see that they love their residents. I cannot recommend Kibworth Court enough, sadly I write this as Mum has passed away, her end of life care was second to none. Thank you for taking Mum and looking after her during these unprecedented times. All our family appreciate everything that you did for her.
Thanks again and stay safe.

My mum always, but always, says how lovely all the staff are at Kibworth Court. But it is not just the attitude which makes Kibworth Court special it is also their caring and professional approach. Last week my mum had a fall, she was dealt with promptly and the initial diagnosis to call paramedics,
as she may have broken her hip was correct. At 95 a trip to the hospital is not what you want, less still an emergency hip replacement. Nevertheless, she was well cared for on the Ward and was discharged Covid free back to Kibworth Court on Tuesday. The manager allowed us a short visit in the circumstances wearing full PPE and Mum was delighted. I cannot thank the Kibworth Court staff enough for their treatment of Mum.
I also want to say that the early lockdown of Kibworth Court was probably a 'lifesaver' for some residents and a brilliant early decision back in March if only our government had been this decisive and forward-thinking.
Thank you, thank you!

My mother passed away recently after a short illness and spent the last two years of her life at Kibworth Court. From the moment she arrived there she was made to feel welcome and throughout her time there all the staff did their utmost to make her feel at home. The staff have been kind and caring throughout
and I know my Mum felt both loved and respected. Her needs changed as her health deteriorated, but the management and staff have a very can-do attitude and adapted readily to her increasing care needs. They have also been extremely open to discussion and comment from myself and other relatives, and to respond accordingly. The food is very good, the rooms spacious and the management are always looking to upgrade and alter the decor and surroundings to provide extra interest and stimulation - but the main strength of the home is its people, who are simply wonderful. Overall, I feel lucky that my mother was so well cared for in her later years. Thank you.

Although my mother has only been resident here for a short time, the care she has received has been very good. The carers have been very kindly, and the manager has gone to extra mile to ensure that my mum has settled in. Her room has been nicely decorated to our choice, she enjoys the food here too.

All of my family are very pleased that we moved Mum to Kibworth Court. The manager is amazing - she helps in all areas of the home when needed. She has gone the extra 200 miles to make Mum comfortable and happy since she arrived a few weeks ago. The staff are all lovely and work very hard. The new activities
lady has great plans for the next few months. Lastly, the home itself is very homely with lots of interesting things.

I found placing my husband into a care home, due to vascular dementia and Alzheimer's (middle stage), very traumatic, not just for my husband, but for me and my family after caring for my husband for four years. After ten weeks we are still feeling these deep emotions. Everything was so strange, my
husband pleading to come home. Over the time the manager and her team have helped us to come to terms with the situation, being able to speak to the manager whenever. The carers also are very helpful, friendly, caring people. I love the homeliness of the home and the comfort it brings. I hate leaving my husband after a visit, but I know he is safe and being well cared for by very caring people. That helps me to get through my time without my darling husband.

Kibworth Court has a real 'home from home' look about it which allows my Mum to relax. As well as looking after the basic health and social care of Mum, staff take care to see her 'as a person', eg., last week one member of staff asked me how Mum had her hair cut before moving into the home as she wanted
to ensure the hairdresser there did it how Mum was used to. Also, if ever Mum is upset when I leave, there is usually a member of staff that will quickly come and calm her.

It has been a very sad and distressing time for our family to see my husband have to go into care. However, the manager of Kibworth Court has been very understanding and supportive and her staff have been very kind to me and my husband. I know he is in the best place, where he is looked after and safe
and so gradually our family have come to accept this. My husband is now very settled and the staff are lovely with him even when his condition makes him difficult sometimes. I'm very grateful to the home for their care for myself and my husband.

The staff at Kibworth Court residential care home are friendly, knowledgeable, patient and very caring. The constant provision of care for my cousin's needs is so helpful to myself and my family, knowing he is being looked after as well as he is, gives us the assurance we have chosen the correct place,
it's like a home from home.

My experience of every aspect of my mother-in-law's care is extremely good. One of my concerns was with her skin integrity regarding concerns of pressure sores, however, at this moment in time, I am pleased to find her skin is intact.

The staff, from the manager to everyone working at the home provide

exceptional delivery of care. It is so reassuring to know she is getting such a level of care. Safety and security are of course, paramount with regard to my mother-in-law, and many other residents with dementia.

Again, it is with such gratitude to know she is safe. The activities I have attended ie the singalong afternoons were an absolute joy to see all the residents having such a wonderful time.

From the first moment my sister and I set foot into the home we were struck by how friendly and warm everything seemed.
Since then (from a good impression) it has just got better.
The staff from the manager down are fantastic, very patient and caring, they know everyone and their needs.
My mum has
settled in brilliantly, which we were very worried about.
We didn't need to have bothered as she fits in well and is very happy.

Kibworth Court is a very relaxed and homely residence for my dad to stay in to give my mum periodic respite. Dad's dementia brings its challenges but he always gains in a personal and a positive way from staying there. He eats well, walks about a lot more than at home and seems to enjoy the interaction
with the other people. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and they seem to make my dad relaxed and calm. Kibworth Court has lots of nice spaces for the residents to choose to relax in, they provide some nice touches in decor, furniture and objects around the place to make it homely and there is a lovely garden. We're really glad we found this care home as it gives us confidence each time my dad stays there.

Impressed with the care plan written for my mother who has recently joined the care home. The staff are friendly, helpful and calm. My mother has behavioural issues and the staff have managed to change her clothes daily and carry our personal care which she often refused. There are lots of improvements
being made to the home which all benefit the residents. All the staff and the manager are very approachable.

The Management and Staff are all very welcoming and they clearly care about their residents. My parents originally went into the home for some respite care and have decided to stay, which says a great deal for the care they are receiving. The management and staff are also very approachable and have
been there to answer any questions I have had. The room allocated for my parents was redecorated before they 'moved in' which was a really nice touch. My Mum has special dietary requirements and this has not been made an issue of at all, in fact the cook seems to have enjoyed the challenge! The building itself is spacious, light and airy and has a nice atmosphere.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.046)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.046) out of 10 for Kibworth Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.568 for Kibworth Court is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.568
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.478 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kibworth Court is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.778
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
