Leaving my dad on his first day was very upsetting, and as lovely as everyone was it was worrying we had done the right thing. All our worries vanished when later that day we saw him on the homes social media page dancing and thoroughly enjoying himself. We can't remember ever seeing our dad dancing. He's only been there a few days and he's taking part in so many activities even on a visit to the local shopping centre.

Thank you so much for sharing this.

We completely understand how emotional that first day can feel, and it means a lot that you trusted us with your dad's care during such an important time. It's lovely to hear how quickly those worries were put at ease.

Care of residents at Meadows Court is excellent.
Staff are kind and do a variety of activities which the residents really enjoy.
Residents are taken out into the community and functions are also organised at the home for their enjoyment.

Celebrations cover all faiths eg Christmas, Devali. The staff fully involve themselves in order to give residents a lovely time.

I and my family have found the home to be very supportive of the residents. The staff take time and talk to the residents in a calm and friendly way; always with a smile on their face which is good to see. The residents are free to roam securely in the home or out into the garden. There are many lounges with comfy chairs. Any concerns have been addressed when we have spoken with staff. The activities, what can I say. They are so varied each week. There is so much laughter and enjoyment from both residents and staff. The activities help the residents use many physical and intellectual skills, keeping them active and working their brains. Join them on social media to see what goes on. The food looks delicious with a varied menu each week catering for different needs and cultures. Residents are given choice to do what they want to do. A very welcoming home from the manager downwards. Staff always have a smile on their face.Thank you for looking after the residents with such dignity and care.

Absolutely wonderful caring polite professional staff. Above and beyond safe care provided. Staff always happy enthusiastic and wanting to please clients and family and friends. Great communication with everyone, kindness in abundance, compassion and empathy throughout my visits watching & listening. As a retired professional nurse it was comforting and amazing to witness such a beautiful place and staff caring for our elderly vulnerable client group. Thank you all.

On the occasions we have visited our brother, we have always received a friendly welcome from all staff, and we have seen many of the activities, which the residents seem to enjoy. I think this is to be highly commended. It's lovely to see the interactions between them, and the different places they take them on a visit, to let them enjoy life outside the home. Each and every one of the staff seems dedicated to giving good service and care to its residents.

Such a wonderful care home!
I regularly visit Meadows Court Care Home for their events with my three little boys, and we absolutely love it every time. From the moment you walk in, you can see how well cared for and happy the residents are. The staff are amazing, they're so kind, caring, and really get involved with the activities alongside the residents. The management team are just as hands on, which makes such a difference.

The atmosphere is always full of joy, laughter, and fun. My boys never want to leave when we visit! I also keep up with their social media page, and it's lovely to see how much they do every week for the residents. You can really tell how much heart and effort goes into everything they do. Meadows Court is a truly special place.

My mother is happy. She does complain and her complaints are always dealt with. Her biggest complaint is about the food but she is full of praise for the carers. I like the manager because she will generally make time for you and answer your questions. My mother's room is pleasant and cleaned every day .It is a little cluttered but that is mainly because she is immobile and cannot tidy things away herself. There are plenty of activities which seem like good fun and a range of trips out for those who wish to go. Mother enjoys the visits from the local vicar and since the church was a big part of her life this is greatly appreciated. She also values the visits from the hairdresser and pediatrice. Basically she enjoys the personal attention.

My overall impression is that of a caring and supportive environment for my relative. I always feel welcome, I have been made aware of any health issues and they are treated accordingly. My friend was looked after very well for the first three of her four-week stay. She has dementia and can be stubborn. She fell out of bed and I was told that there were no injuries. The manager was on holiday for that last week of her stay and the care was reduced greatly. When I took her home she had a large wound on her right knee, a cut on her left shin where the bone was exposed and both heels were necrotic. Her clothes had all disappeared and she came home wearing someone else's clothes. Unfortunately, she is now at end of life.

My mother was 90 at the time. Went into the care home at the end of May. It took her a couple of weeks to get used to home but she really enjoys it at the home now. She likes the food. She has 3 meals a day now, previously only eating two when she lived on her own. She finds all the staff very friendly and likes talking to them. Myself I found the staff friendly and I find it is very clean and doesn't smell as opposed to the home my dad was in.

My name is Baljinder Kaur and I’ve been a registered manager at Meadows Court Care Home since January 2023. I am a very motivated, hardworking, reliable, honest, loyal person and a fast learner who can work well within a team or individually using my own initiative.

I am a professional who has successfully finished under graduation degree gaining a BA (Hons), NVQ 2 and 3 in Health Social Care with over 10 years’ experience. I am also currently doing a B.Sc in health and social care 3rd year (part-time on hold at the moment) whilst successful in my current employment as a Home Manager and fluent speaker in English, Hindi and Punjabi. I have good health and social care experience and transferable leadership and management skills to work flexibly in any environment.

My self-sufficiency and motivation always have led me to where I am, also I am not apprehensive about new challenges to achieve any opportunities undertaken.

I am passionate and have always enjoyed working with older people and I have a wealth of experience, knowledge and skill from my past roles. In my current role as home manager, I have already built up a good effective working relationship with staff, service users and their families. I can lead, motivate, supervise, support and assist the team to carry out their job roles to the best of their abilities. I can carry out full assessments and risk assessments on new and current service users. I have a good understanding of End-of-life care, Mental Health, MCA, Best interest decisions, Safeguarding, Notifications, Khloe’s, the Recruitment process, Challenging behaviour and Dementia. I have excellent knowledge on day to day-to-day operations of residential homes and the various audits that need to be carried out to ensure safety and effectiveness.

I started my career in care as a Health Care Assistant and have progressed and worked my way up through the Health and Social Care Industry, working across many services such as mental health, learning disability, children's services and dementia nursing, reaching the position of Area Manager.

In 2021, I joined Kirklands Care as their Operations Manager, overseeing all of their care homes. Kirklands Care is a family-run business that shares my own beliefs about care and that the residents' care is of utmost priority, and this, for me, comes first. My love of spending time with the residents shines through my work, hearing their stories and having the ability to make a difference in their lives. Every resident I care for is treated how I would expect my family member to be cared for, which for me is with love, dignity and respect.
