Since in new ownership the home has much improved. It is cleaner, the previous 'urinal' smell has now gone shortly after new owners took over. Thank you for giving the home an uplift. The rooms look a bit tired but appear comfortable. The staff are welcoming and kind. Thank you for your hard work.

Very good overall. The only problem, which I don't think can be resolved, is that they have to wait a long time to go to the toilet due to all wanting to go at the same time. Also some have to use a hoist. Activities are great and they have time for each person. Very good!

When I visited my mum on Thursday, 20th June, 2024, it was a very hot and sunny day, and I expected to find a fan in my mum's room, but there wasn't. My mum was saying that she was hot, despite both windows being open, so I had to go and ask for a fan to be put into my mum's room. It had been stated on the TV that it was going to be hot today and the day to follow, so I thought that fans would be put into the residents' rooms ready for this hot weather. Also on this visit, I found my mum to have sick all on her blouse she was wearing and sick all down the bed sheet; I don't know how long she had been like this for.

I found the staff to be very helpful and caring to my sister and to myself. It was nice to see the residents playing games and interacting instead of just sitting there.
The residents are able to walk around the home and go out into a secure garden.

The home itself is situated in a nice, quiet part of the old Aylestone Village with a park nearby.

A very well-presented care home with very friendly staff. They gave my mother-in-law great care over the years who was blind and also had dementia. Food was well presented at meal times with staff in assistance. The room was always clean and tidy throughout her stay until she passed on 21/05/2024. I am sure they can still hear her shouting at them!

A big thank you to all the staff who work so very hard.

My dad is very happy with the care he's receiving. The staff are very friendly, the lounge could do with being a bit bigger as it tends to get full very quickly. I would like my dad to have showers/shaves a little more often, but I know he refuses sometimes. The senior carer is a godsend to me keeping me informed about Dad. On the whole, I am happy with the care my dad gets.

Went to see a friend and it was very easy to get there and the staff were very friendly and helpful to us all. Then we sat with him and he had his lunch, then we went to the lounge and we watched TV. Then we left to come back home.

All of our family wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the manager and particularly the staff involved in the direct care of my father in the last month of his life. The staff were very caring, dedicated and compassionate. They were also very helpful to family members and myself when we had any queries.

The level of dedication shown by the staff was touching to witness.

The staff here are very friendly and hardworking. Nothing is too much trouble, they are very kind to the residents. They know everyone by name and take a genuine interest in the residents and their families. It was lovely to see how they helped my mum get ready for her granddaughter’s wedding, which was the talk of the town! She got her hair & nails done and the staff helped her to get ready for the big day.
Management has been helpful in resolving any questions regarding Mum’s care and keeps me informed of any medical issues etc.
The food is good and freshly prepared on site and my mum loves it. She took a few months to settle, having lived independently until January this year but is now really starting to thrive - physically she is stronger and her quality of life is better.
If we’ve had any questions, these have been dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Best of all, I know that Mum is safe here so I don’t need to worry about her - I know that I will be contacted should there be any problems.

My dad went into the care home about seven months ago, a transfer from the hospital.
It was a very worrying time for the family.
The staff have been amazing and have made my dad comfortable; he has settled in well.
I must mention the kitchen staff are great, as they manage to make his favourite food.
Recently his bedroom has been redecorated and is looking great.

I thank all the management, seniors and carers for dealing with my responses promptly.

It's not a pleasant thing to be putting a relative into care but the staff here were fantastic. They were on the ball and the level of service was second to none. The home was spotless and the food was excellent. Thank you to all staff and the adult social care manager who we dealt with.

I find this place unacceptable, sheets are dirty, commode hardly ever clean except if I ask them to. Very often when I visit the bed alarm is not on the bed. I had to clean her up as she had an accident in her pants, her bottom was so sore it was bleeding and when I asked them about it they said the doctor had been two days before and was sending a prescription and still hadn't received it so just left it. Appalling!

I want to say how well all staff and management have looked after my brother, over the last few months. They have all shown compassion and care not only to him, but to our family who live quite a way from Leicester, but have always been able to call for updates and whoever picks up the phone is friendly, courteous and helpful.

Sadly my brother passed away yesterday with his daughter by his side (as she had been for several days). Everyone looked after him and her so well, especially one staff member and we thank her and all staff for everything they have done.

My name is Baljinder Kaur and I’ve been a registered manager at Meadows Court Care Home since January 2023. I am a very motivated, hardworking, reliable, honest, loyal person and a fast learner who can work well within a team or individually using my own initiative.

I am a professional who has successfully finished under graduation degree gaining a BA (Hons), NVQ 2 and 3 in Health Social Care with over 10 years’ experience. I am also currently doing a B.Sc in health and social care 3rd year (part-time on hold at the moment) whilst successful in my current employment as a Home Manager and fluent speaker in English, Hindi and Punjabi. I have good health and social care experience and transferable leadership and management skills to work flexibly in any environment.

My self-sufficiency and motivation always have led me to where I am, also I am not apprehensive about new challenges to achieve any opportunities undertaken.

I am passionate and have always enjoyed working with older people and I have a wealth of experience, knowledge and skill from my past roles. In my current role as home manager, I have already built up a good effective working relationship with staff, service users and their families. I can lead, motivate, supervise, support and assist the team to carry out their job roles to the best of their abilities. I can carry out full assessments and risk assessments on new and current service users. I have a good understanding of End-of-life care, Mental Health, MCA, Best interest decisions, Safeguarding, Notifications, Khloe’s, the Recruitment process, Challenging behaviour and Dementia. I have excellent knowledge on day to day-to-day operations of residential homes and the various audits that need to be carried out to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Michelle Caisley
Michelle CaisleyJob Title:Operations ManagerJoined: 2021

I started my career in care as a Health Care Assistant and have progressed and worked my way up through the Health and Social Care Industry, working across many services such as mental health, learning disability, children's services and dementia nursing, reaching the position of Area Manager.

In 2021, I joined Kirklands Care as their Operations Manager, overseeing all of their care homes. Kirklands Care is a family-run business that shares my own beliefs about care and that the residents' care is of utmost priority, and this, for me, comes first. My love of spending time with the residents shines through my work, hearing their stories and having the ability to make a difference in their lives. Every resident I care for is treated how I would expect my family member to be cared for, which for me is with love, dignity and respect. My role allows me to work with families to take the pressure off whilst allowing them to feel their loved one is in a suitable environment, is safe and cared for.
