I'm happy with the care that dad receives. The staff are always polite and friendly and I have up most respect for them and how they support all the residents. Getting dad outside could be made easier but that's a minor thing.

Overall Experience

My mum stayed here for a short period for respite care. She was well looked after by all the staff, and in particular the staff helped celebrate her birthday while there. On returning home, she said that if she ever ended up in long-term care then she would be happy to go there.

Overall Experience

-Activities coordinator "Poppy" tries hard, is passionate, warm and brings good energy.
It would be nice to see additional staff brought in to help deliver her ideas which would benefit my husband and other residents.

-Regarding 'dignity in dementia', some staff still appear to require further training. Re security concerns relating to other residents absconding from main entrance and also side gate outside not being made secure. We welcome the new managers approach, vision and support as of the last 4 weeks.

My brother as been a resident of highfield house for over eight years now , he as seen staff come and go as have we but he seems happy with the staff who are taking care of him at the moment . He does not take part in any of the activities as he likes to stay in his room x but members of staff do pop in regularly and make sure he is ok

Although it's sad having my Nanna in care, it gives me peace of mind knowing she is being well looked after. The staff are always helpful, kind and caring. What an amazing time my Mam has had on her respite care
With a lot of uncertainty of going into the home in her words "she would do it again"
The whole experience from start to end was dealt with the compassion & care from the whole team as if I was doing it myself.
Visitors could come anytime & the activities kept her stimulated, so time went fast
Her room was so lovely & a big 10/10 for the food
A massive thank you from the bottom of our heart for making a week stay so enjoyable

My Dad arrived in Kirklands in March this year and couldn't have been better received. Initially he was wary but was so welcomed, he settled very quickly and is very happy, as am I.
So very impressed with staff, service, care and friendliness.
Staff always happy, smiling, polite and considerate. Always happy to help and answer any questions.
They always say hello and are just brilliant with my Dad.
Food (very important to my Dad) excellent. Very tasty and more than enough!

It's very much a home from home and I really couldn't be any happier; can't praise the staff enough. Feels like they've all become family friends. What more can I ask for! If I could give 10 stars, I certainly would.

Would not trust them to look after a pint of milk. My mam died on her own in bed staff leving care home weeks befor mam died t v ariel poor in rooms small rooms was allways arguin with staff or manager on my mams behalf she hated the food provide by them and the bed she was given by them hated that to could say names but not allowed on here i have spoken to one ex staff member as hes left now and thanked him for his help with my mam all i can say is my mam is in more safer place now with god as for me i did not like it at care home but had to go see mam.

Life long friend being resident at Highfield House, Greenbank, Whitehaven for the last 3 years. I am a regular visitor. My friend Vera was not well when she was admitted to Highfield, but has thrived ever since with care and love given to her. Also loves her food and eats very well. Vera is 92 on the 12th of May and doing very well.

Our mother had a short stay at Spencefield Grange (respite care). As a family, we would sincerely like to thank Ruby and all her team who took such good care of our mother.

Whilst mother only had a short stay, staff were attentive and responded to our mothers needs.

Our mothers room was kept clean and all staff encouraged our mother to eat at meal times and dressed and washed mother.

Overall Experience

My friend was admitted into Spencefield Grange suffering from dementia and self-neglect. She was very underweight (6 stone!). She's been lovingly cared for by the staff now her weight is 7st 3lb. She's entertained every morning in some activity which stimulates her. The food is also really good. The level of cleanliness is beyond reproach. However, the staff are wonderful they simply can't do enough for here it's wonderful to see.

Leaving my dad on his first day was very upsetting, and as lovely as everyone was it was worrying we had done the right thing. All our worries vanished when later that day we saw him on the homes social media page dancing and thoroughly enjoying himself. We can't remember ever seeing our dad dancing. He's only been there a few days and he's taking part in so many activities even on a visit to the local shopping centre.

Overall Experience

Care of residents at Meadows Court is excellent.
Staff are kind and do a variety of activities which the residents really enjoy.
Residents are taken out into the community and functions are also organised at the home for their enjoyment.

Celebrations cover all faiths eg Christmas, Devali. The staff fully involve themselves in order to give residents a lovely time.
