My mother and father were both residents at Meadow Court. My mother has recently passed away. The staff have all been so kind and helpful during this sad time. Not only have they looked after my father, they have looked after all the family during our visits. I can not find the words to express the thanks to all the staff. They all do a great job.

My father suffers from dementia, but I know at Meadows court he is very well looked after, he is safe and comfortable. Nothing is too much for the staff who are kind, caring and very responsive. I am kept up-to-date and well informed about my father. The staff also go to great lengths to support me in difficult or challenging times and I cannot thank them enough.

Baljinder Kaur
Baljinder KaurJob Title:Registered ManagerJoined: 2022

My name is Baljinder Kaur and I’ve been a registered manager at Meadows Court Care Home since January 2023. I am a very motivated, hardworking, reliable, honest, loyal person and a fast learner who can work well within a team or individually using my own initiative.

I am a professional who has successfully finished under graduation degree gaining a BA (Hons), NVQ 2 and 3 in Health Social Care with over 10 years’ experience. I am also currently doing a B.Sc in health and social care 3rd year (part-time on hold at the moment) whilst successful in my current employment as a Home Manager and fluent speaker in English, Hindi and Punjabi. I have good health and social care experience and transferable leadership and management skills to work flexibly in any environment.

My self-sufficiency and motivation always have led me to where I am, also I am not apprehensive about new challenges to achieve any opportunities undertaken.

I am passionate and have always enjoyed working with older people and I have a wealth of experience, knowledge and skill from my past roles. In my current role as home manager, I have already built up a good effective working relationship with staff, service users and their families. I can lead, motivate, supervise, support and assist the team to carry out their job roles to the best of their abilities. I can carry out full assessments and risk assessments on new and current service users. I have a good understanding of End-of-life care, Mental Health, MCA, Best interest decisions, Safeguarding, Notifications, Khloe’s, the Recruitment process, Challenging behaviour and Dementia. I have excellent knowledge on day to day-to-day operations of residential homes and the various audits that need to be carried out to ensure safety and effectiveness.

I can also work alongside professionals such as the Care Quality Commission and local authorities. I have worked my way from Care Assistant to senior care assistant, deputy manager and Home Manager. Having worked at every level has ensured I have a greater understanding of person-centred care and care planning. I am also trained in the safe handling of medication, safeguarding, moving and handling, care planning and many other trainings. I am very confident in liaising with GPs and all healthcare professionals. I am now looking to bring my wealth of experience and knowledge to my current position. I have a positive attitude and strive to promote all service users' safety, health well-being and staff independence, by encouraging them to fulfil their potential for their job role, my management approach is firm but fair.

Michelle Caisley
Michelle CaisleyJob Title:Operations ManagerJoined: 2021

I started my career in care as a Health Care Assistant and have progressed and worked my way up through the Health and Social Care Industry, working across many services such as mental health, learning disability, children's services and dementia nursing, reaching the position of Area Manager.

In 2021, I joined Kirklands Care as their Operations Manager, overseeing all of their care homes. Kirklands Care is a family-run business that shares my own beliefs about care and that the residents' care is of utmost priority, and this, for me, comes first. My love of spending time with the residents shines through my work, hearing their stories and having the ability to make a difference in their lives. Every resident I care for is treated how I would expect my family member to be cared for, which for me is with love, dignity and respect. My role allows me to work with families to take the pressure off whilst allowing them to feel their loved one is in a suitable environment, is safe and cared for.
