I started my career in care as a Health Care Assistant and have progressed and worked my way up through the Health and Social Care Industry, working across many services such as mental health, learning disability, children's services and dementia nursing reaching the position of Area Manager.
In 2021 I joined Kirklands Care as their Operations Manager overseeing all of their care homes. Kirklands Care is a family run business that shared my own beliefs of care and that the residents care is of upmost priority and this for me comes first. My love of spending time with the residents shines through my work, hearing their stories and having the ability to make a difference in their lives. Every resident I care for is treated how I would expect my family member to be cared for which for me is with love dignity and respect. My role allows me to work with families to take the pressure off whilst allowing them to feel their loved one is in a suitable environment, is safe and cared for.
I began my journey in care in 2020 at the age of 19, shortly after completing my A-levels and realising that this was the path I wanted to pursue. I started as a Care Assistant and worked my way up to Senior Care Assistant, before progressing into my current role as Deputy Manager. Along the way, I’ve also supported in key roles such as Catering Manager and within Housekeeping, all within the care home setting.
I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Lead Adult Care Work and continue to build on my knowledge and experience every day.
My passion for care began in childhood. Growing up around the care sector often accompanying my mum to work. Some of my fondest memories come from being in that environment. From a young age, I learned about dementia and the importance of providing care with dignity, compassion and purpose.
For me, care has never been just a job. It’s a lifelong commitment. I’m dedicated to supporting individuals to live with comfort, respect, and a strong sense of self because everyone deserves to feel valued, heard, and truly cared for.
I’ve worked in care since 2009, starting my journey as a Care Assistant before progressing through the roles of Senior, Deputy, and then Manager. I took on my first management role in 2013 and have since dedicated myself to leading with compassion and integrity.
My background includes a wide range of experience across elderly dementia care, residential care, nursing, and learning disabilities. This has given me a strong foundation and a deep understanding of what it means to deliver truly person-centered care.
I hold NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care. These qualifications support the values I bring to my role everyday dedication, professionalism and heart.
At the core of everything I do is the belief that every individual deserves the very best care and quality of life. I focus on the unique needs of each person and work hard to ensure they feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.
I work tirelessly to ensure our home is filled with laughter, warmth and comfort for our residents, our staff and their families. Creating a positive culture and a happy working environment is something I truly believe in. I’m passionate about promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and I’m committed to making sure everyone feels respected, supported, and part of our extended care family.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to one amazing daughter—she’s my world
