From our first visit to Canwick care home, we have never looked back. From the minute we stepped in the door, we were, and still continue to be blown away by their dedication, commitment and compassion. Nothing is ever to much trouble. The staff are so attentive, friendly and the home has the most wonderful happy atmosphere. Canwick house, is a home from home.
My relative , often comments on, how helpful and wonderful the staff are, their kindness, the new friends she now has, the fantastic home cooked food, and all the activities.
They are treated like extended family, and their care and attention, is just second to none. The home delivers exceptional care from exceptional people, always working above and beyond.
Credit due where credit is deserved, with this in mind in, we shall not be relocating mum.
Thank you for placing your trust in us and for taking the time to share your experience. Your comments mean so much to all of our staff, who work with so much care & respect, to ensure every single person feels valued, respected, and cared for like family.
We are honoured to continue supporting your mum. Thank you for your ongoing support.
The staff are exceptional - kind, patient, and genuinely compassionate. They take time to understand each resident's individual needs, preferences, and routines, ensuring personalised care at all times. Communication with families is excellent; staff are approachable, responsive, and always willing to explain care plans or provide updates, which gives great peace of mind.
I was particularly impressed by the respect shown to residents. Everyone is treated with dignity, and encouragement is given to promote independence where possible. Activities are thoughtfully organised to support physical, emotional, and social wellbeing,
Dear Amaka
Thank you so much. You took the time to share your positive experience and observations from your visits, and for that we are truly grateful.
Real, honest care in a warm & safe environment is at the heart of everything we do for our Residents at Canwick. It means a great deal to...
Canwick House is a clean, light, friendly, warm and welcoming care home. However the primary reason I would recommend the home is because the of the quality of care my Dad received during his time as part of the Canwick House family. All of the staff really do care and he was treated with the utmost respect, patience, kindness and compassion from the very beginning and throughout his end of life care. It was comforting to see how quickly they came to know and understand his individual needs. He was always treated as an individual and with dignity. The management team were always very approachable and reacted quickly to any deteriorating developments with his health and/or mobility. As a family we were always welcomed with a smile and were very grateful for the support we received from the staff as Dad's life drew to an end. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good, always smelled and tasted delicious. It was a pleasure to have been part of the Canwick House family.
Our team is deeply appreciative of your kind words. We're grateful for your attention to the small details as well as the care we gave to your father. We are given the opportunity to make a difference, and we sincerely hope that we were able to do so for your father.
My mother was at Canwick House Care Home for a little over two years. My family could not, in our humble opinion, have settled on a nicer, more caring and devoted home to spend her final years. The staff were professional, always ready with a welcoming smile, nothing was ever too much trouble, and we know how much our mum was loved by all.
We feel truly honoured to have had the opportunity to care for your mum during her time with us. Please know that our hearts are with you, and we will always be here for you, ready with a warm cup of tea and a comforting smile whenever you need.
Canwick House is more than a care home. My dearly loved friend passed away in their loving care in December 2024 after 8 years as a resident - 8 happy years. Nothing by any of the staff inc. management was ever to much whatever I asked, it is indeed a huge team effort whatever their roles, it all came together as one committed to the holistic well-being of my dear late friend and I include everyone. This home became our family the environment so beautiful and clean, the care delivered with diligence and dignity, nutritional needs updated and discussed as needs changed. I was also very well looked after and was always included at a lunchtime so my friend and I could enjoy lunch together. I have happy memories of the 8 years I spent as a visiting friend, and I know my friend had a wonderful life there too. As my friend' s life drew to an end she was surrounded by love and tenderness and I was comforted by all too. Saying thank you will never be enough and you are in my heart forever.
It was an honour, truly. Our warmest wishes to you. You are always considered part of our Canwick family. Thank you for your heartfelt review of our home.
From the minute I first looked around and met staff at Canwick House, I felt assured that this was the ideal place for my husband to come out of hospital to. I was not disappointed, the care and consideration shown to both him and myself was outstanding. They met every need possible and it felt like coming home. He visibly became less agitated very quickly. If I have to end up in a home, I would love to go there myself. The cleanliness and the happy residents says it all. Plenty of activities if you want to join in. After has passed away they still supported me.
Wow! Thank You from the bottoms of our hearts for the five star review. Our dedicated staff invests the necessary time to truly understand our residents, fostering a strong sense of trust and creating an environment where they can feel completely at ease. At Canwick House, we love to keep the communication between relatives as you also become part of our family.
None of this would be possible without an amazing management team.
Thanks.
We are truly grateful for the kind words and positive feedback you have shared about the 'Incredible' care provided by our dedicated staff at Canwick House. Our team strives to empower our Residents, allowing them to maintain their independence to the fullest extent possible. Your lovely review is sincerely appreciated.
Staff are simply wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. Stepdad was well attended to. He was moved with care and consideration on a regular basis. The staff spoke to him with love and respect. My mum was also looked after by the staff; kept fed and watered so she didn't need to leave my stepdad's side. The home is clean, tidy and smells nice. Grounds are lovely and well kept. Home is secure - I was impressed with the key card scanning system. Once my dad was on end of life care the staff were respectful and tactful and so helpful. It's a fantastic place.
Thank You for your kind and thoughtful words. When residents come into our home, we pride ourselves in looking after the residents and their family members to ensure complete comfort for all. We feel very blessed to have met a wonderful family like yourselves.
I am truly amazed at the wonderful care given to my son before he passed away. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff were caring and understanding, it felt like one big family atmosphere. Thank you to each and every one of you for all your care, consideration and love.
Thank you for your kind words and positive feedback! Your satisfaction is our top priority and we will continue to strive for excellence in providing exceptional service. We were honoured to have cared for your loved one.
I'm very happy my Mum is here. The staff are all very kind and caring. The residents are lovely too. I think all the kindness and caring rubs off onto everyone. The atmosphere is lovely. The house is lovely, full of character and the garden is lovely too. Mum says the food is very good.
Thank You for taking the time to review our care home, I'm glad to hear your positive response and your loved ones' thoughts. Our menu is designed around our resident's choices allowing them to enjoy the food that little bit more!
When my friend moved into Canwick House Care Home, I wasn't sure what to expect, as it was a big change for her. However, the care and kindness she received is incredible. My friend always expressed how she feels safe, happy and well cared for. She always mentions the 'cheese and wine' afternoons. The manager is always around and makes a point of coming to see me to give me updates on my friend. I always look forward to visiting the home, as I am welcomed by all staff and residents.
Thank you for your lovely review. We endeavour to make, not only our residents feel at home, but also their family and friends. Our resident-led activities enable residents to thoroughly enjoy their chosen activities... Cheese and wine afternoons being the favourite!
Visiting Canwick House Care Home to see the residents as a volunteer is so rewarding. We go to the local village hall coffee mornings so that the residents can connect with their local community in an enjoyable way that is meaningful to them. Staff always greet me with a smile and an offer of refreshments. I love that it is a small, homely, welcoming care home, where even the owner is always on hand with cheery conservation and chat.
Thank you for this encouraging review of our care home. The local coffee mornings mean a lot to our residents and we will continue to take part in them. With your support, it creates an enjoyable and fun Friday morning.
The care at Canwick House is second to none. The staff are so genuinely caring and kind and the atmosphere is unlike any other care home I have visited; happy, calm, relaxed and well organised. Also, homely. There is an atmosphere of lightness and fun, someone is always laughing somewhere. The residents are well turned out, the house is always clean, there are regular events and activities, and everyone is treated as an individual, with their particular needs and idiosyncrasies taken into account. Since she moved to Canwick House, my mum is in better form than she has been for some years. I can’t praise the team enough for looking after her so well and making me so welcome every time I visit.
We thank you so much for your review, it really is heartfelt and has been shared amongst our dedicated team of staff. We always go above and beyond for our 'Canwick Family' and we always will. Thank you once again.
We feel very lucky Mum was placed at Canwick House Care Home when she came out of hospital in November 2021. It has such a lovely atmosphere, looked after by a small group, providing personal touches and a family feel. Mum looks so much better for their care. The staff go out of their way to make all the family welcome on our visits and any special events we are invited to. The staff make sure Mum is included in the daily activities, even though she has limited hearing, which is very much appreciated. Highly recommend this care home.
Thank you for this wonderful review. We will always ensure our residents enjoy daily activity and freedom of choice in all they wish to do. We thank you for sharing your loved one with us, so we may continue our care and support in every way possible.
I was concerned because we had not any chance to look at this, or any other place, and I had rushed 170 miles to see my mother in hospital - I was quite geared up to move her the next day if necessary.
I was delighted that the next morning it was clear that the home had provided a very welcoming environment and was rapidly getting everything sorted out that they hadn't been able to do the night before.
My brother and I have visited her frequently, and we are full of praise for the care she has received. The staff are wonderful - really caring, alert to residents' needs and give time to each.
The owner and manager are personally involved with the residents and have used their contacts with the local nursing teams to ensure their medical needs are met.
We feel lucky that my mother is a very happy resident here.
Thank you for this wonderful review. We will always remain a home - not only for our residents but for families and friends too. You are always so welcome and are seen as part of our team too, as we provide the best care we can for all our residents. We thank you for allowing us to care for your loved one and aim to make "100" a most memorable celebration!
I love visiting Canwick, it’s a precious place where I absolutely know my beloved grandmother is very well taken care of. I really sense the quality of life as I walk in the front door, and I know many others feel this too. There is an energy of positivity and light and joyous humour amongst all who work there. I couldn’t rate Canwick House any more highly.
Thank you for your kind words, this means so much to the staff team as we continue to care for your loved one. We strive to create a wholesome and caring environment, where all are welcome. We truly appreciate your review of our home.
Meal times are a fabulous experience with lots of chatter at each table. With each and every resident enjoying the wonderful food cooked by the chef and served up by our hostesses.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and that is clearly evident by how positively the residents speak about the staff.
I am very proud to be part of such a loving, caring care home team.
Since joining our team you have supported our staff and residents wholeheartedly. Your cheery, positive presence and your fantastic ideas make you an asset to our home. We will always support Age UK and your work with us. Thank you!
Visiting Canwick House to see our grandad is like a breath of fresh air. We're always greeted warmly by all team. We cannot thank them for all they do for our grandad who, with their help, maintains his well-dressed and happy manner not to mention his cheeky charisma. No job is ever too big, and what we like about the Home, is the family feel. Top marks from us, and after knowing you for three years, we have seen nothing but consistent, excellent care. Our visits are enjoyable, often the highlight of my week!
My grandmother said, "it's the only home I've been to that felt like home and I'd be happy to return".
A big thank you to all the amazing staff.
I've known the Home for 9 years. Canwick offers such a homely warm caring atmosphere. I see the Residents happy and smiling. Canwick has a wonderful team of lovely staff, who contribute 100% to make sure the Residents are well loved and an excellent management team who are committed to the cause. An absolute gem to discover, if you want a truly personalised and caring environment for your mother/ father/family.
