What an incredible care home. Bursting at the seams with kindness, hard work and a dedication to every single resident. Monson is without doubt one of the best care homes in Lincoln - as the daughter of resident with complex needs they provide a safe and loving environment. The management are hands on and communication is first class. In my opinion it's really hard getting older and making the transition to living in a care home harder and yet all the staff at Monson do all that is possible to ensure residents feel that this is their home.As a relative am welcomed, I can visit anytime, I can participate or spend time in with my mum in her lovely room or one of the many additional spaces . Her friends are welcome too and are all guests are treated to great hospitality. The location in the heart of a busy, diverse university city is brilliant, literally a stones throw from the city centre and with so many opportunities for the local amenities to be on hand. I would highly recommend

Mum initially went in for 2 weeks respite but is now in full time. As a family we cannot speak highly enough of all the staff throughout the care home. From the minute we walked in to have a look around, we have been made to feel so welcome and the team there feel like family. The care that they all provide is absolutely second to none I cannot fault anything. They have fantastic activities twice a day an amazing menu everyday and frequent drinks and snacks throughout the rest of the day. The staff have made a very difficult and emotional decision so much easier and have been and still are a constant support to our family. I would definitely recommend Monson Care Home for your loved one

My father spent a month in the Monson Care Home and was very well cared for. The staff were professional, empathetic and caring throughout. My father was kept well-fed and hydrated and was always clean and well-turned out. The staff were always helpful and accommodating in all my dealings with them. Thank you very much for taking such good care of my father.

We called to visit my brother-in-law as he is in for respite care with you. The home was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The garden area is very nice we sat out there for quite a long time. His bedroom was also a good size with a private bathroom which was also very clean. The only negative is the lack of parking for the home.

Reply from Heather Robinson, Administrator at Monson Care Home

Thank you for the review. We pride ourselves in providing the best care to all residents, and provide a homely atmosphere for the residents, visitors & staff. Unfortunately, due to the location of the home we do struggle with parking. We do have resident parking permits, which we lend out to...

Monson care home is exceptionally lovely. At its core it has the very best and most dedicated team .All the carers, caterers, housekeeping, entertainment and well-being coordinators, receptionist , administrators and managers are exceptional .I have only encountered kind , calm , hard-working , thoughtful and professional staff. My mother is staying now as a permanent resident after a long hospital admission. She is happy, relaxed and very well cared for. She has been able to have her own chair in her room and other items that make her feel relaxed and at home. she is treated with respect and kindness. There are always activities that are inclusive and well considered. I am impressed with the consistency of the quality of care -as I visit a lot so I feel confident this is a true reflection. In my opinion it is one of the very best care homes in the area, and the team should be incredibly proud of what they provide and achieve. I would recommend to others without hesitation.

My brother was admitted into the home mid August 2024 due to him being in a confused state of mind, upon his arrival the staff have done everything possible to make him feel at home, we were able to take him his own chair and put it in his room, along with other personal belongings. I would highly recommend Monson Care Home for permanent residency or restbite

My uncle came into the home in Aug 2024, he was accepted into the home with the relevant professions sorting paperwork out, they have been so accommodating for him, nothing is too much trouble, the staff are friendly and approachable. They all work incredibly hard and a member of staff in particular is amazing with the residents with her daily activities, they make visitors and family welcome at all times, they keep us informed by either email or phone call with regular updates

It was a difficult decision for my parents to go into care due to dementia. They both ended up in Monson about six months ago. The thing that stands out the most is the genuine care, dignity and respect of the management and staff. You can tell that they truly care for their residents and they are always prepared to go the extra mile. The everyday kindness is ever present. Furthermore the management are very responsive in contact with families and both provide information and answer questions very quickly. Big thanks to the special and exceptional staff of Monson!!

I visited my mother today, it was her birthday. I was most impressed by the level of care and activity that had been organised. The afternoon tea was a nice thought and included all the other residents, for once my mum was the centre of attention. I had a fabulous visit today and look forward to my next. Thank you Monson for looking after my mum.

My mum has been a resident at Monson since July.
It is a hidden gem in the area. I was instantly struck by how lovely the spacious en-suite bedroom was and the hotel vibe of their restaurant and spacious lounge.
All the staff are so caring and friendly from the reception team through to the senior team and manager.
As a family, it was a difficult decision to make to find a home for my mum who was struggling with bereavement and dementia. But I am constantly saying how lucky we were to find this one!
A special shout out to one of the ladies who is the most amazing activities co-ordinator!
Thank you

Jackie

My dad has been here for 4 weeks for emergency respite. He leaves tomorrow, so I wanted to let people know about this care home. Anyone who rates this facility any less than 5 stars is not seeing what I have. As a carer I have worked in some homes that I wouldn't want my dogs in nevermind parents. From the first day there were several staff members that came and welcomed my dad. Took him to his own room. This room was immaculate. The care and dedication the staff give to each and every individual in their care is second to none. They are very friendly to us visitors too and can me and my brother a meal so we could eat with our dad which was such a lovely touch. I loved seeing activities taking place and how well everyone took part. I highly recommend this care facility. To all the staff, including cooks, cleaners and the washing team thank you so much for everything you have all done, to contribute to my dad being able to come home.

My mother was discharged from hospital to an Assisted Recovery Bed at Monson Care Home, and is now in short-term care at the home whilst we plan for the future. My mum is a different person since coming to the home. She is settled, calm and content, and this is all down to the amazing care she receives. The home is clean, cheerful and full of life. Mum joins in all the activities planned by the amazing staff, and we have no doubt in recommending the home and all the staff.

Anna Pacyna
Anna PacynaJob Title:ManagerJoined: 2024

My name is Anna Pacyna and I believe my passion for looking after our elderly population started when I was looking after my grandfather. He was unwell and was palliative in his care.

I have worked in the care industry for over 12 years.

I started working in care, as a care assistant. I then moved into a senior carer role, and after 10 years, I was promoted to the Deputy Manager position. After a further year, I took over as the Registered Manager at a Care Home in Welbourn.

I know how challenging all the roles in a care home are, also how difficult it can be for new residents and their loved ones making that transition into care.

All the staff at Monson are supportive and happy to help with any questions.

Marie Fletcher
Marie FletcherJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2022
Marie has worked at Monson for 2 years on the day senior team.
She is part of our ARB (active recovery beds) team, looking after residents who have been discharged from the hospital and who need some reablement to prepare them to live independently within their own homes.
Marie spends her time looking after her family and spending time with family and friends.

She feels that the home has a lovely atmosphere and enjoys working with her team.

Then moved to Monson Residential Home. I have been here at Monson Residential Home since July 2024.

My personal life - I enjoy spending time with my family & my dog, Toffee. I enjoy crafting, making things, & reading.
